A new owner has taken over Wheeler In the Sky Keeps On Turning, so we are now down to two teams needing owners. :)
-
Right, it just allows anyone with an Ottoneu account to pick up the team. It doesn't affect team composition
-
Marking them abandoned just clears the owner and sends them off to an "abandoned team" list where they can be picked up by anyone--as of right now I am changing the ownership. The players remain on the team.
-
Looks like we have about 5 active owners right now. The addition of No Trouble Jr has been a shot in the arm, Iād like to get more like them.
-
What happens when we mark them abandoned? Do the players on those rosters get released into the auction? Can we get some new owners? Sorry, not all that familiar with the process.
-
How do we feel about marking the remaining 3 teams without owners as abandoned at this point? We've welcomed No Trouble Jr into the fold, which is great, but otherwise seem to have gained little traction through our posts

I'm here. Certainly contemplating if I can keep playing. Simply do not have the time to dedicate to it anymore. I will let you know if I decide to abandon either way.

I'm here! :)
-
Hi all - can we get a roll call of the remaining active owners? It would be helpful to know who is actively managing their rosters, taking/making trade proposals, etc. Thanks guys.
-
Welcome!
-
Hello all! I've just taken over the Kenosha Kickers and will be looking through my roster and updating my trade block this evening. Excited to join the league and looking forward to a good season next year. Feel free to send an offer if you're interested in a trade.
-
Okay, Kenosha Kickers has a new owner. One down, three to go.
-
I would be happy to post something on Slack
-
I do not have a Slack account, but I have now posted on the ottoneu community board soliticing for new owners. If any of you who are in possession of a Slack account would like to advertise for new owners on behalf of the league please feel free to do so and I can pass along my e-mail address so you do not have to deal with the particulars. :)
-
Agree with Correa. Abandoning outright seems like the next measure after that.
-
Before abandoning outright, I would try posting on https://community.ottoneu.com/c/owners-wanted/ and/or sending a message to the Ottoneu Slack group if you haven't explored these avenues already. Just my 2 cents.
-
So, given that we need 4 teams to find new owners, what are your thoughts on my just designating them as abandoned and sending them off to ottoneu purgatory in hopes of them just being randomly filled? If this is the route I would like to do it as soon as possible so as to allow the maximum amount of time for the teams to be picked up. Any objections?
-
Thank you to all who allocated their arbitration dollars. For those of you who did not allocate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlM3CKXJs5k.
-
I have been informed that National Security will be unable to continue with the league next year, so if any of you have someone who would like to join the league please let me know. :)
-
Thanks! It was certainly an unusual season but this league stayed active and engaging. Let's hope for a more standard offseason and season to come.
-
Indeed! Congratulations and kudos, again, as always, Correa Opportunities. Try as I may to defeat you, your genius knows no bounds. :)
-
Congratulations Correa Opps!
-
I know, right? Every time Correa Opps claims a player I have waived I question my life's purpose.
-
It's always a little more than disconcerting when you drop a prospect and Correa Opps picks him up. Guess I'll see ya in Cooperstown, Balazovic.
-
Nolan Arenado must go!
I've worked so hard to establish good clubhouse chemistry on my ballclub and he's destroying it.
Please make me an offer.
-
We all have our vices and temptations. Be strong.
-
Never mind, I guess I can quit him.
-
Oh, Maikel. I just can't quit you.
-
In the case of Gleyber, I wanted to turn one very good player into HOPEFULLY a couple. Knowing my luck, it won't pan out. Carlson and Sanchez are on the cusp and I have a little more money to reinvest. Gleyber is a tough player to move no doubt, and as of Friday, I was defiant toward doing so.
-
Sorry guys, just had to try a new angle. Frankly, this league was once much more active and there were a lot of baseball trades being made. I'm faced with riding out a middle of the pack roster or trying to get in the game, albeit over the next couple years. It's getting harder and harder to pry cheap, young talent from owners and it leaves very few options to acquire it. The draft gets thinner and thinner as well.
-
No, I agree completely--not a salary dump. I was just suggesting that this season has been very disorienting and so I am not surprised to see odd/divisive trades coming down the pipeline.
-
A $19 gleyber for two guys who havent touched the majors doesnt feel like a salary dump. Just my opinion.
-
I mean, I like prospects as much as anybody, but when their perceived value begins to skew the league's parity because MLB regulars netting actual points are left on the wire so that more prospects can be rostered I think that is problematic. Just my two cents, but I would like to see someone other than Correa Opportunites win this league. š
-
Yes, these trades... If this were a regular season I think it would be more problematic, but given that this season is so odd (player optouts; possible suspended season) I see them as akin to offseason salary dumps. What I more worry about is that this league is turning into MLB teams and MiLB teams.
-
These trades....
-
Lots of prospects available, looking for controllable MLB or MLB-ready players.
-
*sigh* No baseball since March, and my first time back I accidentally nominated a player I did not want. I am rusty.
-
I'm running out an all dead-ball roster on whatifsports.com and am having fun with the likes of Nap Lajoie, Oyster Burns and Shoeless Joe Jackson.
-
Baseball reference is doing something similar by using OOTP21 (which if you guys aren't already playing OOTP, I totally recommend).

This was posted by a fellow owner in another league of mine: http://www.strat-o-matic.com/2020-season-simulation/ Check it out to read box scores of a simulated 2020 season. š¤¤

That's right. After years of using my name as the team name, I have made a change. It is terrible, but a change nonetheless. See you Sunday night.
-
Hey everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I had played Ottoneu for about 3 years until I took a break the last couple years. Finally at a point where I can devote more time to this kind of stuff. Just made our penalty free cuts and I know it looks like a lot, but we still plan on competing this year. Despite the overhaul. How do we feel about an expansion draft style draft for new owners so I can poach some players from the Syngaardians ;). Anyhow, good luck with the season.
-
Welcome aboard! We have considered changing the league name to "Hats Off to (Bryce) Harper's Eunuchs", but the jury is still out.
-
Hey all - just wanted to introduce myself a bit. I am the new owner of the former Snell's Belles. Looking forward to taking part in a long-running league. You will definitely see my name in your inbox over the next week ahead of the draft so I can start to figure out what kind of team I'd like to bring into the season. Best of luck this year!
-
Okay, I abandoned Snell's Belles and Blue Sox since I had not heard back from either of them after contacting them twice. If you know of someone who wants a team and they are not taken, just let me know and I can arrange the takeover.
-
I have not heard back from Snell's Belles or Blue Sox, so I am thinking of simply abandoning them and allowing fate to take its course. Do any of you have friends who may wish to take over a team? Are there any objections to abandoning them and allowing a random individual to take the reins?
