I'm good with holding a mid-season draft. And seeing as the mid-season draft is whats in the charter seems we should plan to do it unless majority of owners vote👎 on the draft.

My vote would be for having one minor league draft a year, rather than two.

I'm fine with whatever the league decides. I understand that it's in the charter to have one, but don't have an issue if the league votes to skip it this time. I do agree with Hack that there's no reason we can't vote on minor rule modifications now, if necessary. Some of these votes should have occurred last offseason based on previous discussions.

I think we should have the mid-season MILB draft. Its in the charter.
The rules suggested below were suggested last year and the year before as well. I suggest we vote on those rules now over the next week or two and have the draft.

Open to all the ideas posted. I think if everyone agrees we put in stronger language in the off season to include ideas that pass a vote. I think at this point we should probably wait to add any MILB players til seasons ends. Any thoughts?

I agree to those ideas. Would suggest we shorten the amount of time allowed to make a pick if we have a locked time.

One thing to keep in mind - most players selected in this year's MLB Draft won't be signed and added to the Ottoneu database until around the August 1st signing deadline. The MILB rules state that players must exist in the Ottoneu database to be added to an MILB roster.

I think we should do it but would like to suggest we learn from prior MILB drafts by also doing the following:
a) establish a MILB lock period such that no one can auction or promote MILB players during that time for any reason (e.g. 7/11 until the end of the draft),
b) At the start of the MILB lock period set the draft order based on standings and number of open spots
c) Not change the draft order after the MILB rosters locked.

Woods is one of the best prospects in the game right now and this is a league that highly values prospects. It was going to take a lot to get that type of player, which is what my offer was. I preferred quality to quantity given that in a rebuild free roster spots are quite valuable.

All of those players have been on my trade block for about a month and none generated much interest. I sent out a number of offers on them but all were rejected or the counteroffer was not worthwhile for a rebuilding team (i.e., not keepers for 2024 and/or obvious cuts). It would have made more sense to just cut and free up cap space than trade them for crap with a loan. As WB said, most are not keepers and the two potential keepers ($4 J. Turner and $7 Gray) are both rather old.

I'm rather curious which actually good players will get cut, but honestly none of these players make sense as keepers in the offseason, so eh. can't find a real reason to object.

Anytime any team has a concern on a trade I encourage the league to vote on the trade. I know we don’t use the option much. Also each team in the trade are welcome to post their side of the deal.
