And we can count on a last minute 11:59pm arb submission by GC. Great to see all the new owners & everyone gearing up for next season!
-
11/12 arbitration in, very impressive!

This league: The Show has 4 teams (6th, 10th, 11th, 12th) available, $50 fee.

I am Commish of another $100 league with one open team. Same format except that we have a 10 man MiLB reserve.
-
I found a team in The Show league $50. There are a few more teams available.
-
Let me know if there are open teams in other leagues you play in. I missed out on this last one
-
Sweet! It's a public league so you can just claim the team on the claim a team page here: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/claimteams

I'm interested in Marte Gras Doug Inman, spcwrg24@fuse.net

Two really good teams available in one of my $100 Old School 5x5 leagues, pretty decent group of managers(even some guy named Generous Carriage) but would be even better with you in it!
https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/1041/home
Teams available are Marte Gras and Gashouse Gorillas
-
Thanks guys glad to be here, have a lot of work to do with this team...but who doesn't love a challenge.
-
Welcome Bottom Feeders! Thanks to all the new managers for filling the void, excited to be full again.
-
Awesome! Haven't heard from anyone yet today but I'll keep an eye out for the message
-
Hey commish, there is someone interested in taking over Zod's team, I told them to reach out to you so check messages please.
-
Welcome to the league guys!
-
Hey guys thanks for having me. My name is Ben and I'll be taking over Witty Team Name (now the Corpus Christi Cannibals) Hoping to have a good season in my first year of Ottoneu

Welcome newbies!

Welcome new managers!
-
Hey Everyone - new owner taking over Jumpin Joe (now Drunk Reality). My name is Rob, big fan of the Rays, and look forward to next season.
-
And a new owner for Jumpin' JoGarza - welcome Rob! Now just 1 open team to fill, let's see if we can get someone in by Sat for the start of arb!
-
We just got a new owner for Witty - welcome kolpean!
-
Thanks for the heads up commish! Hopefully we can fill the positions before the end of Arb, should be okay, over a month to go. I posted the openings on the Ottoneu slack and send any inquires over to you on the forum post 👍🏻
-
Congrats again GC!
Looking to next year, we unfortunately had 3 owners drop. I've abandoned Witty Team Name Here, Jumping JoGarza, & Kneel Before Zod. FYI that the previous owner of Jumpin Jo has taken over Just a Piece of Metal (so really it was the previous owner of Just a Piece of Metal who dropped, and we kept Jumpin Jo in the league, just under a new team).
I'll post in the Ottoneu boards about needing owners, but if someone can post on Discord & an

Thanks Sixto!

Looking at the time series points chart makes me very sad….but incredibly well deserved victory GC!
Sounds like we may have a couple owners leaving this season, so I’ll try to confirm in the next few days so we can try to get new owners in for a full offseason.
Great year! Looking forward to 2023
-
Congrats GC on a helluva year. I am very impressed (and jealous) of your continued dominance, well done!
-
Congratulations Generous!!! Also to Billboard and Yoshi for making it exciting to the final game.
-
Thanks guys! I may be in more Otto leagues than I can count at this point, but this is the one that started it all for me and it's always the one I most want to win. 96 points wouldn't get it done in most seasons, but the fact that it did this year speaks to how competitive this race was. Congrats to BH and Yoshi in particular, you guys each had a great season and could easily have taken the title with the slightest shift in luck. Looking forward to running it back in '23!
-
3 team race down to the wire! No matter the order, all 3 Of you have had great years and should be proud of it.
-
I enjoyed the season and looking forward to next season. I don't think I will be making a lot of changes.
-
Fun season though.
-
Haha if my math checks out it’s over, Generous continues his dynasty despite losing Tatis and Degrom this year.
-
Best of luck today Billboard and Generous. If my math checks out I still have the slightest possible chance of winning this thing but if I'm being honest I'm mostly just hoping to jump into second, for the second season in a row...
-
Alright! Season's over today right?
-
Sixto, check your messages ...

Looking to trade Skubal + Alek Thomas for a player of any position with a high ROS projected batting average.
-
Damn if you do and damn if you don't, I would agree to let the season end and find a new owner for next season, I vote not to boot him even if it would be a sain decision, but if the vote goes to boot him, I will join the ranks
-
I vote to let him finish the season and introduce a rule for next season. I took a team worse than his from 11 to 4 a couple of years ago so it can be done . We can always raise the fee and hope managers are more active, but that may not be popular. I get a lot of enjoyment playing in this league.
-
Make that 3 boots...IMO if you've been inactive for 6 weeks you lose your grace period of having been paid. If you were that concerned about the $100 you wouldn't go missing for that long.
-
Appreciate the response commish, I agree with everything Generous said so if we put it to a vote that at least gives you some support. I vote to boot as well.
-
Yep I think that makes sense. I can definitely understand that booting an owner in-season is a tough call for a commish to make unilaterally, but a vote would give you some support. I vote to replace the owner in this case, I think 6 weeks of inactivity is more than enough and the league will be much better off getting a new owner in now.
-
Sorry I've been silent on this. I agree we can't have inactivity, but 1) I'm hesitant to boot someone who has paid (at least in-season), and 2) I'm not optimistic we'd find a replacement owner in 2 weeks. I'll leave it up to a vote though. If we get 6 people saying "boot him" then I'll abandon his team & we can try to get in a replacement ASAP. Otherwise I'll abandon him around the end of the MLB regular season and we can look for a replacement to take over for his cuts &am
-
If that's just not how we want to run this league then I I'll live with it for this season but it's definitely something I would like to have more of a concrete approach moving forward especially in a higher prize league like this one where an inactive team has an impact on the standings.
-
If there's intentions to replace Piece of Metal anytime before the end of season now is the time to do it. Gives a new manager two weeks to make any trades and then allows them to start the potential rebuild before the off-season. This is a huge advantage imo as high priced cuts might return keeper value now while teams are competing for the money whereas in the off-season those high salaries are less appealing. I understand booting a manager isn't easy but 6 weeks of inactivity is too much imo
-
Good question, not sure there's a clean answer, but probably end of regular season. New owner would do arbitration. Agree that leaving a team dead for ~2 months makes it less appealing at end of season.
-
Hey BH...when would you say the year ends for the team that paid? If it's at the time of renewal, that falls after arbitration ends which has a big impact on the league. The further out the replacement player comes in the less attractive it is to the new prospective owner as they have less time to put their stamp on the team.
-
Witty hasn't made a transaction move in 3 months, but is monitoring his lineup appears.
-
I would echo the sentiment of the other owners that inactive managers make the league less fun. But, I would be hesitant to replace someone in season. They paid their $$$, I sort of think that entitles them to play out the season, active or not. Downside is that it leaves a roster that much worse for the next owner.
-
I agree 100%, not sure why anyone pays $100 to ignore their team, given you can always be either actively competing or actively rebuilding in an Ottoneu league. Inactivity definitely makes the league worse for everyone though.
-
I'm with Flags, I'm not sure how long we've given managers in the past but 35 days seems like enough to suggest JAPOM is not invested in their team anymore. Three weeks before the deadline is enough time for someone new to claim the team and still have time to make some moves before the offseason. Maybe we're in the minority so would other people mind sharing their opinion so commish doesn't have to just make the call himself.
