Analysis: Three starts into his tenure as a Padre, Sears owns a 5.52 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with an 8:3 K:BB through 14.2 innings. With Michael King (knee) nearing a return from the injured list, Sears will lose his place in the MLB rotation, and the Friars will bring up Alek Jacob from El Paso to provide some extra depth out of the 'pen.
