And that's coming from the guy who is going to be hit by it the hardest. (Aside from Weaver and Mr.Trout)
-
I think I've been happy with the new arb system. I think only time will tell, but it sure seems like this is just better than the previous system.
-
also, love the name Anibal. welcome!
-
what do the doubters think of the new arb system so far?
-
Anibal Collective's trading block has been updated!
-
Oh yeah, "Anibal Collective." Nice one.
-
Welcome Anibal. And thanks for taking over the title of FNG, which I only held for two weeks or so. :)
-
Thanks!
-
Welcome and great name change.
-
Thanks! Appreciate it!
-
Awesome! Welcome to the league! We're in the midst of arbitration voting, which you can read about here: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/ottoneu-arbitration-guide/. If you have any questions you can post them here or shoot me an email
-
Hey guys! I claimed VORPed Sense Of Humor! I was attracted to this league because of the great title. I can't wait to get started, and get to know you all a bit!
-
FYI: We're going to have another ownership change -- VORPed Sense of Humor is now up for grabs. Hopefully someone will claim it soon and our league will be complete again.
-
Deshields will be Quite Operational's trading block has been updated!
-
SABR Rattled's trading block has been updated!
-
Thanks, Aroldis. That worked perfectly.
-
on an ottoneu post on RotoGraphs, this problem is brought up- apparently if you zero out your allocations to a team, hit 'save', then redo them, it should work
-
"if you don't know" should read "if you don't mind." That's what I get for typing at 6:07 AM
-
I'm still having the same issue. It may be because I've used every dollar, as Deshields suggested. An email to Niv would be helpful if you don't know.
-
I've been messing around with it tonight and it's been giving me an error message when I try to change my allocations, but it is actually changing them despite the message.
-
No problem with changing allocations here, but I haven't placed all my dollars. So maybe it locks after you've used every single dollar in your allocated allotment.
-
According to this article (http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/ottoneu-arbitration-guide/) the allocations shouldn't lock, so let me know if this problem persists and I'll send an email to Niv Shah.
-
yeah i was having trouble changing my allocations once i had saved it once or twice. for instance, despite only allocating $1 to one team it said had allocated too much to that team. i assumed nyjerz had rigged the system somehow.
-
Is anyone else experiencing difficulty with changing allocation amounts? Supposedly, the process isn't locked in until 11/16 but I don't seem to be able to alter my choices for some reason.
-
i think seeing the other allocations makes sense. then if someone is increased enough to your liking you can spend your $ on others
-
The drop-down list menu does not coorespond to league standinds, though. Also, I think it makes sense that we can see what has already been allocated- that way we avoid overloading one obvious player when multiple player might qualify.
-
wait, so it lets us see the allocations that others have made? that seems kinda weird right?
-
we have to allocate at least $1 to each team right? i would guess we might throw more at teams at the top of our league standings but maybe that's just me.
-
My thought is that your allocations should be steered away from new guys who take over abandoned teams. :)
-
Also, I fear there may be some bias towards allocating money to the teams that are closer to first in the drop-down menu list, as by the time you get to the end, you may have used all/most of your $25.
-
Arbitration time! My initial thoughts: I'm torn between allocating to guys who (a) I want to make overpriced so they are thrown back into the FA pool or (b) I just want to inch closer to market value.
-
But I love the Cincinatti Strand!
-
This Reds fan coorespondingly despises the Cardinals and therefore is as sad as everyone else
-
I guess when Tracy feels like the least of your worries, that shows what shape you're in. The Rockies organization is just a joke.
-
interesting that you can't cut players before the arb process... I guess that stops you from dropping someone who would go up $10 and otherwise get lucky and win him back in an auction for only a $3 increase?
-
Welcome to the league. As a Rockies fan you should be thrilled. No more Jim Tracy can only be taken as a step in the right direction for the club.
-
also, welcome Denver Dave! Glad to have you aboard
-
also, welcome Denver Dave! Glad to have you aboard
-
That said, I support the voice of the league and I'm on board with using the new system. I guess I just needed to get that off my chest. Sorry for the triple post.
-
If misery loves company, you picked the right league to join! We do have one Reds fan, but most of us love terrible teams: Mets, Cubs, Pirates, Royals, Mariners... We're a sad bunch...
-
doesn't sit well with me. It feels too punitive and doesn't allow any sense of reward for an owner who was shrewd (or even lucky) enough to snag said players for under market value.
-
The more I ponder the new arbitration process, the less I like it. I am definitely in favor of competitive balance but the idea that owners who were able to obtain talent way under value should only see the benefit of their actions for a single season
-
By way of introduction, you can call me Dave, although there's already one of those here, so call me whatever. Live near Denver, work in the tech industry, wife, teen kids, 2 cats. Don't bring up the Rockies, you'll just depress me.
-
Thanks, looks like a good, active league. I've been playing fantasy since before it was computerized, but I've never been in a league like this. Looking forward to it.
-
Welcome to the league! I'll be sure to include you on any group emails we send around. In the mean time, definitely feel free to ask any questions on the message board or shoot me an email at davidrogoff@gmail.com.
-
Also, welcome!
-
I don't think you'd want to do much until arbitration is over. Cross your fingers and hope everyone adds money to players you already planned to unload.
-
Second order of business is figuring out what the hell I'm doing. Am I right that I can't do much until arbitration?
-
Hey league. Just took over this abandoned team. First order of business, apparently, is coming up with a good pun team name.
-
Definitely right about the team names. We have some very high quality puns in this league. We just voted on the best team name award in our fantasy football league and Forte Shades of Grey (a.k.a. Profar, Pro Good) beat Boston TE Party for the crown.
