I'd just like to point out, the Jose Fernandez I picked up last year is completely healthy.

Did you see the pitchfx velo chart for his last start? His velocity on every pitch absolutely died after the 4th inning. https://twitter.com/jeffwzimmerman/status/465971653810208768

I swear, everyday my bench out-hits my lineup
-
Though an error on Odor, not Rios.
-
Hit or error? As much as I wanted Ortiz to go 2 for 3, it looked pretty error-y to me.
-
Why is every player on my team dying of abdominal injuries?

And there's definitely something to be said for a team that overcomes a 16 run deficit. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2014_05_07_cliafx_burafx_1&t=g_box&sid=l118

It's May 7th and Dee Gordon has 20 SB's

Well, if it's really the 2004 jersey, it's definitely the ONLY one in existence since he only played 1 game in '04. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sneades01.shtml

If this makes me laugh out loud, I can't even imagine the Mets fan who would pay $100 for it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-New-York-Mets-Esix-Snead-Game-Issued-White-Pinstripe-Home-Jersey-METS3556-/121316100060?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3f00c7dc

And the award for world's greatest bat-flip goes to Wilfredo Tovar on a routine ground ball: http://www.collectthemets.com/external/20140505-Tovar.gif

After the Mets coughed up a 3-0 lead and lost a walk-off to the Marlins and the Rangers outshot the Penguins 35-15 and lost 2-0, I'm ready to just quit sports.
-
Adam Dunn is playing outfield defense professionally. Luckily for everyone Quintana has allowed nothing through 4 IP.
-
And it's not like he set the world on fire last night by giving up a triple and hitting the next batter on his way to giving up a run in just 0.2 innings haha
-
Yeah, yeah. Needy cause. To be fair, though, I DID have him for a nice amount of time last year before cutting him prior to the draft.
-
I guess I spoke to soon on Stroman entering the rotation, but, regardless, the road is paved.
-
Even after an awful spring and slow start, I regretted cutting Marcus Stroman almost immediately. Now, to add insult to injury, my #6 Morrow goes down and it's Stroman that replaces him the rotation. At least he went to a needy cause. :)

Ahhh? back from honeymoon and ?.. yep, that's what I expected.

It's also nice to see Jake Peavy steadfastly sticking to his game plan of surrendering exactly 1 HR in every start. Streak is now at 7.

Guys, the Tom Emanski All-Star curse is absolutely real. Check out Harang's fantasy points in his last 5 starts before I acquired him and stuck him in the lineup.

That Reds fan looks like he's big enough to be Superman.

You guys, Superman is a Reds fan. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-SrJ1akTFkWI/U2GPvQHhcCI/AAAAAAAACHY/xWj_8E3yLtQ/s500/fancatch.gif

So, three of my top four hitters are first basemen. If anyone needs help there, make me an offer for anyone not named Abreu. Can't stand seeing one of them on my bench every day.

I think the 2012 change imposing negative pts for hits allowed adequately addresses this. I'm sure Yelich remembers my endless rants about Ervin Santana doubling Colby Lewis's points despite having identical FIP, ERA, and rate stats
-
A combination of speed and angle indicating a line drive, sure. And no, it's not a perfect corollary, but it'd be better than penalizing for hits in general (think of all the examples of poorly hit bunts/squibbers/bloops that end up as singles).
-
So according to that logic, pitchers should be given negative points based on the speed with which the ball comes off the bat?
-
A pitcher's job is to not give up runs by either strikeouts or weak contact. There are very few examples of extra-base hits that are weakly hit, and so a pitcher should get penalized for that.
