Well Jesper, we don't have to wait too long. Arbitration should start mid-October sometime. And once arbitration ends, we can make offseason trades. I'll try to send out a message to everyone with offseason details once the dates are finalized.
-
What a crazy finish to the season you do COMHS. Congratulations to the finish and win. Thanks to everyone else for a nice season. Already looking forward to next season. What am I supposed now doing with my life in the meantime?

This season was a lot of fun - it was definitely the most active group of owners we've ever had. Please make sure to check the site, as arbitration will start pretty soon.
-
I do remember catch you last year Eva. But I thought we still had a week or so to go then? Don't remember exactly. Either way, it's been super close the last two years.
-
You're right about the IP's. I did not mean to take anything away from Heyward Son, that was an amazing surge at the end to pull out the victory. Eva did great all year as well and made for an exciting finish. Looking forward to next year.
-
Bacon Biscuit is correct. I hit my innings limit a while back ? I think it was right around the time Harvey was shut down. Of course, if I had managed my pitching staff better and only used my top starters?

Correction. I maxed out all my games except for catcher, where I had 9 games remaining. Doumit had been available since July; he averaged over 4 points a game. That?s 36 points that I could have had, and I lost by 32. ,

Congrats to Heyward Son, but do you guys realize that this is the second season in a row I lost on the last day of the season? What are the odds on that? Not only that, last year I lost because I had maxed out all my games and innings on the previous day,

Well, Eva hit his innings limit a while back, so the Harvey thing might not have made much of a difference. A crazy season indeed, my first year doing ottoneu and really enjoyed it. Won my other league.
-
Yeah, it has been fun to come back and check the standings each day. If Harvey doesn't go down Eva wins handily but now it is very interesting.
-
Wow. As recently as a few days ago, I was about to send Eva a message saying congrats. It looks like when the scores update, I will actually win on the last day like you said Bacon. Crazy season!
-
Oh my goodness, Carry on my Heyward Son is going to win the league on the very last day of the season. Just amazing, great season folks.

Prince Fielder is now available. Looking for prospects and/or cheap MLB talent.

Wow, that team got picked up fast.
-
Just claimed this team and it needs a little TLC. Looking to blow it up. All reasonable offers will be considered. Thanks!

Goat Locker's trade block has been updated!
-
Okay, I will go ahead and abandon his team. I still want to follow up with Rubix too. I know he made the trade, but I don't think he's set his lineup for months. Beyond those two, it looks like everyone is still active. I think we've got a good crew!
-
agreed we should have someone take over the team and try to make the team better
-
It's no problem for me if someone else takes over his team. It's better with so many active teams as possible.

I was thinking the same thing Frank. Just wanted to run it by you guys before doing anything.

Re: Goat Locker. I don't see why we shouldn't give someone else a chance to come on board and make some trades if they want to...

Guys - Goat Locker just told me that he is no longer playing and won't keep the team going forward. My first thought was to go ahead and abandon his team now. But if you guys think I should wait until after the season, I can to that. Just let me know.
-
Wow - just when I'm about to reach out to Rubix Cubes to see if he still wants his team, he pulls off a blockbuster!

Season Injury update: Heyward and Betancourt had an appendectomy. What is the probability that you have two players who have had it during the season?

Huroki Kuroda and Brandon Belt are available

I think you are in the driver seat Heyward Son. Just depends on if you can keep that Points/IP there while catching up on the Innings Projections
-
Well guys, we're about halfway through the season. Good first half - looks like we've got a good crew here. Will anyone be able to catch Eva Marie? Or at least make him sweat a little?
-
my pleasure, man- enjoy

So now I have something to do during the summer. Thank you again.

Thanks so much for your suggestions on books and documentary. I've looked up on the internet what it is all about. It seems to be very interesting, worth reading and worth seeing. It seems to be the kind of books and documentaries that I enjoy.

Satchel paige's autobiography is half truth half legend and a great read- If you want a rough outline of baseball history, I suggest Ken Burns 11 part documentary

On the Negro Leagues, I remember "The Soul of Baseball: A Road Trip Through Buck O'Neil's America" being pretty good - anyone else got any recommendations?

"The Glory of Their Times" by Lawrence Ritter is about baseball in the early 20th century...fantastic read in my opinion.

Thanks so much Gladden Dandies. As there is a large amount of books about baseball's history and Negro League and it's hard for me to know what is worth reading. Maybe you have some suggestions of books that are worth reading? Thanks Jesper.

The Negro League teams famously i this, an subsidised the money they made uring the season. Sometimes MLB teams and Negro League teams would barnstorm together.
