• We could allow a one time, one player drop before the draft each year. it would probably have to be requested to the Commish so we know it's only 1 player per team. This would allow for some injuries and also potentially teams who learned something new about a player and changed their mind on keeping them. I'm not sure what is the most amicable solution, but it's an idea

• As the commish worded the poll I dont think anyone would want that change. What I was asking for was a change that would allow us to cut a player pre-draft WHO WAS INJURED IN SPRING TRAINING AND DEEMED OUT FOR THE SEASON. This would keep an owner from suffering a significant salary cap hit before the draft. Seems like an easy thing to solve. I know injuries are a part of the game but the game doesnt really start until the draft so why not rectify an inequity?

• I don't think you understood my suggestion commish. The only players allowed to be cut would be those injured in spring training and deemed out for the upcoming season. It wouldnt be a blanket "free cut day"

• FWIW, if we were to implement something like this, the format would be that after the keeper deadline, I would go in and mark every team has having a single round of penalty-free cuts, then as the draft starts I would go in and remove those penalty free cuts. If the majority of owners want to do something like that, we can (I'm happy to abide by majority opinion), but I'll go ahead and go on record that my vote is against it. • You are correct that the deadline dates themselves are fixed, but that the commissioner can apply a round of penalty free cuts to any team at any point (primarily intended to be used for owners who take over a team in between the keeper deadline and the draft date). That being said, I agree with Mayhem and Monastics that cuts after freeze defeat the purpose of a roster freeze, and injury risk is (to me) part of the appeal of the complex economic system of ottoneu

• The keeper date is set, but if we can just cut after it, then there's no point to a keeper deadline. Weighing the risk of injury against your cap allocation is part of the game.

• I think the commissioner can grant cuts after the date but Niv sets the cut date. So commish could grant a final cut to anyone who had a qualifying injury on their roster. Would likely apply to only a few.

• I have often thought that there should be a round of "final cuts" the last day before the draft to allow teams to cut players who have gotten season ending ort near season ending injuries. Once again I am having that thought with Gerrit Cole's injury and TJ surgery. Could we put up a doodle and vote on that and let majority rule? Have it apply this season and all seasons going forward.
