Great! Getting us all in the draft room is more important than missing a couple games IMO!
-
Monday March 17th is looking good so far! If we were able to pull that off then we wouldn't end up missing any scoring for LAD/CHC games since the first game is at 6am on Tuesday March 18th. (As long as folks remember to set their lineups, lol!). Still need to hear from 4 more people https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/en7vogEa
-
Okay, let's try this again. New Doodle!
https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/en7vogEa
-
FYI, right now at least no longer able to schedule more drafts for Sunday March 9 or Sunday March 16
-
It can't hurt to put up the poll again with new dates. Also, reminder to everyone that you can select 'if need be'. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal at all to miss the Japan series since it's far before opening day.
-
yeah the first votes are often expressions of preference, rather than absolute possibility. I would still try a runoff with the top results, and we may find something that we can make work.
-
I dont like the idea personally but if there are no other options. Are we sure we wont still have the conflicts?
-
Given that every single date has at least 2 people unavailable, any objections to having our draft later than the 17th? We'll miss the series in Japan, but I really don't want anyone to miss the draft
-
My work schedule has just changed. I'm no longer available on any Saturdays. I tried to change my votes, but was unable. Apologies, just found out
-
Reminder to vote on our draft date -- so far it's looking like March 14th is the most likely date! https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/dNX3Yqpa
-
Now that we're back up to 11 out of 12 teams owned, let's start getting a draft date poll going! I have a lead on a 12th owner (someone expressed interest on the forums so hopefully they'll follow through)

Welcome waterford!!!!! Glad for you to be here

Welcome
-
lol, can I undo previous managers cuts
-
Posted on the message board, hopefully that'll help get us some owners! Once we have new owners we'll do a Doodle for a draft date
-
Ok. Fingers crossed!

I posted on the ottoneu slack, planning to post on the message board as well if the slack post doesn't get any traction :)
-
Have you done anything to replace the other two? If you'd like, I can send out a poll for the draft date when teams have been finalized.

I'm a bit tight on cap space, so I'm likely to cut any/all of the following players. Offer me anything that I'd actually keep for one or more (or all) of them and I'm likely to say yes!
Matt Olson, Bryson Stott, Christian Yelich, Jose Berrios, Luis Severino

Trade block updated, let the hot stove begin!
-
Um, usually the team that took first place is the one that gets the most arb dollars assigned to it, just saying. (also just saying its not too late to change your arb dollars--hint hint--)
-
Good idea! Thanks!

I sent out e-mails in the wee hours of the morning to the owners who hadn't done arb yet, hopefully that'll help. I'll probably seek arbitration proxies on slack tomorrow if I haven't heard back from those owners
-
🤷♂️ arbitration been rough in my other league too. Stupid football.

Arbitration season! Is everyone coming back this year?
-
Congrats, commish. Here's to a fun offseason!
-
Thanks all! Looking forward to seeing how arbitration goes and then getting up to some wheeling and dealing this offseason :D
-

Clive's Wife with the last day doubleheader leap into 3rd place!
-
Would anyone like to trade for Luis Castillo? I'd like to trade Luis Castillo.
-
He doesn't need SP eligibility, you can put him in an SP spot even though he doesn't have eligibility. Innings limit is 1500 IP, though it's not a hard cap so the day that you go over it you still get credit for all of the innings you pitch on that day (then you don't get any more innings on subsequent days)
-
Sweet, thanks Grayson. No worries, he should gain SP eligibility soon I’m guessing - what’s the innings threshold on Ottoneu?
-
pinch hit home run, more often it'll work against you
-
Additionally, for position players, it uses up a full game towards your 162 at that position if the player makes any appearance in the game. So if you have a guy in your lineup who comes in and pinch hits for 1 at bat, that still counts towards your games played at that position. That's why I typically have the "Eject from lineup if not in starting lineup" button enabled which will auto-bench a player if they're not in the team's starting lineup. While it's possible someone comes in an

will not receive any of his points)
-
For position players, if a player doesn't have to be starting in your lineup at the same position they're starting the game (ie. if Jon Berti starts at 3B in an actual game but is eligible at 2B, 3B, SS, OF, you can start him at ANY of those spots in your ottoneu lineup). HOWEVER, for pitchers, the role they play in the game DOES have to match how you start them in your ottoneu lineup (ie. if Michael King enters the game in relief, but you have him in a starting pitcher spot in your lineup, you
-
you get 162 games at each position over the course of an entire season. (810 OF games since there are 5 OF positions) there are obv more than 162 days in which games are played, so you can be somewhat selective in picking the best players at their optimal positions. Similarly you have a limited # of innings for pitching, which is a combined pool to which both starting pitchers and relief pitchers contribute.
-
Here's a message I sent someone who was new in my other league who was asking for clarification on some things, it might be helpful here as well. It's a long one, so it'll be spread across the next three posts
-
Right, that's what I was saying. He had him in RP slot when he started, so no points.

No, any pitcher can get points if they’re out in the slot they played in during the game. If you’d had him in an SP slot, he would have earned points yesterday
-
He’s only RP eligible - guess I should’ve known that when I drafted him…
-
Looks like he is listed as RP only, so I can see why you had him there but yea... thats why.

He started and you had him in a RP slot. Wont accumulate points that way.
