Congratulations Highland on winning the league this year; quite handily, I might add.........!!!!!

I’d be curious to try the allocation system, too. That’s enough votes!
-
In the interest of consensus: I will vote for switching to allocation arbitration.

Eggs......Classic!!

Sorry I forgot to vote! While I liked the idea of stealing a good player from an astute manager, maybe spreading the penalty on more players would be more dynamic. I vote for allocation!

It must be lonely at the top.

I have a critically important announcement for everyone: With Josh Lowe's promotion (thanks for making me pay the extra $1 for him, Schrute), I now have 3 Lowes in my starting lineup. I have accomplished everything I set out to accomplish this season.
-
I'm up to give it a try. I vote for allocation.

Thanks, Beets. Seems the trick is to mostly avoid season-long injuries and have nearly all of your bets turn out in your favor! — “That’s baseball, Suzyn”.
-
So far it appears to be 4-1 in favor of allocations:) I know these aren't official votes, just basing it on comments....

Highland is 5th on the global leaderboard! Congrats on an impressive season. I crowned you in my mind not long after the All Star Break.

All in for the allocation system. I find it a lot better than the the vote off procedure we have now.

Easy solution, Highlands….quit the other league! LOL

I have an increasingly small amount of time to dedicate to Ottoneu. With the vote off system, it's very quick for me to figure out who I want to vote off and easy to execute that on the platform. I am intrigued by the arb system (the strategy seems much more compelling) and might end up being in favor of it after I get a feel for it in the other league I joined this season, but... I think for at least this upcoming season I would prefer to have vote off arb.

If I understand "Eggs" correctly, he is in favor of the allocation method, which I favor also. I think it is more fair than just voting a player off of a team. Why should a manager lose a good player just because he was astute enough to acquire him, usually at a good price (most players voted off are not only good, but have a price lower than their value). If I calculate correctly, the max increase that can be allocated to one player is $36. Seems like the vote is 2-0 in favor of the c

I'd be interested in allocation method of arbitration. I wanted to try it out so ended up joining another league (or 3) last off-season and I enjoy it. Though I completely over-extended myself so haven't been able to pay as close attention to this league. If we went to arbitration I'd gladly scale back to this being my only team!

that should have ended with "in the message board."

Hi all: Some folks have asked to change the league's arbitration from the vote-off system (what we have now) to the allocation system. Both are discussed on the Rules page (https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/rules#VIII.%20Offseason).
So I thought I'd put it up to a vote: I think the best way to do it is to require a majority to make the change (so if we get 7 votes to change, I'll switch it; but if we get, e.g., 5 yes and 4 no, I won't).
Feel free to comment/vote/discuss i

Perhaps he would be better off using the batmobile instead of the bat plane........

Man, he's been so bad. Alex Chamberlain suggested he's had a bat plane issue since his shoulder surgery two years ago. (Article linked on his Fangraphs page.) I also notice he's swinging (and missing) more on pitches outside the zone this year. Seems like perhaps he hasn't recovered from that injured shoulder.

Makes sense. Good Luck.

I'm now excited to see Pearson and Mize starts while they play for my team!

Here is my side :) first I like that people in the league discuss the trades and give their thoughts. And they all are valid. I guess I'm higher than most on these 2 pitchers and maybe I gamble that they will fare as well as giolito or Burnes (who struggled at first). When I thought of trading Betts I looked at teams at the top and their assets and designated targets. Highland came in with an offer that included IMO top targets.
-
The only thing I ever say about these trades is I often wonder if the seller could have gotten more if they marketed to the whole league. Now, I wouldn't have paid more, but my team is in the cellar, but it illustrates that sometimes the market is what it is for high end, expensive players.

I know I said I would "let it go", implying I wouldn't comment on the trade anymore, but I do need to clarify that I haven't voted against the trade, and won't, despite my misgivings. I've received and turned down several trade offers equally agregious to that one, so it doesn't surprise me when one actually slips through. Okay, I PROMISE there will be no further comments on this or any future trades. I still like playing in the league, despite my lack of success thus far. You're a go

Trade is a little gross but I hate the vote against trades so I abstained. Betts and a loan for those two is an absolute steal. Just my opinion.
-
Neither prospect is as highly rated as they were a year ago, and thus far both have failed miserably at the MLB level. I guess it's subjective, but I for one thought it was questionable. Good luck to you both! I will let it go now LOL.....
