Here's the auction link. https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/?auction_id=110

I'm in for this slow auction...the Season starts in a month...we should have time...
-
I got a guy to fill for WS will roll. He's in my other Ottoneu league. Great, active owner.
-
I will not be doing the slow auction and have asked Rizzo to put my team up for sale. Good Luck.
-
How many owners do we need to confirm slow draft. I thought I counted 9 as good. Who needs to respond so we can get a plan.
-
I am down with this. especially if it means no one misses the draft.
-
Thanks for all the responses. I went ahead and established an auction room when/if we are ready to do this. I know WS Roll has some hesitations because of time (I hope he reconsiders), and I have not heard from a few others...especially Hot Mess, our co-commissioner. I want everyone to be *mostly* comfortable with this format.
-
Ok
-
I'm on board doing the slow auction draft
-
Yeah looks solid to me.
-
Have used Couch Managers a few times for slow auctions, including once already this winter. Big fan. Five stars. Would recommend
-
I’m watching a buddy of mines slow draft, and I think it’s very cool. I suggest 2 nominations per owner and a 24 hour bid timeframe. It moves quicker than you would think. We’ve got a month, so plenty of time to complete. Can always change timeframe if needed later as rosters fill. The draft room is fine. I like that it’s like having a draft going on everyday day. I’m digging it so far.

#3. We can adjust the auction times at any time. So, I typically like to start at a 12/12 pace, but move into a 8/8 pace. Even 6/6. I will update schedules as I find time. You literally have to show up once or twice a day to check the auction (although some of you will be addicted to the pretty screen). The interface is better than Ottoneu. More importantly, it gives you time to complete the auction fairly. Again, nothing has been decided. But, that's how it works.
-
#2 Any player that ups a bid will reset the clock. Again, we can adjust as we go through, but I would begin with a 12 hour re-auction. This will last until the auction is complete. We can adjust this as we go along and get used to the process. Once the player you nominated has completed their journey, you will get a new nomination. After a certain number of player selections (we'll say 40), I can assign another extra nomination to increase the auction pool. So, we will have 24 going at once.
-
A slow auction on couch managers works like this (if we do this): I will set up an auction room and everyone will sign up. I will load the rosters with the correct salaries, you will double check for any errors, and I'll set it to go. We will begin with one nomination each at the beginning. So, we will have 12 auctions going at the same time. You can start the auction at any price you want, but the auction will last as long as we decide. At first, out of fairness, I would suggest 12 hour windows
-
I was having a hard time imagining a slow auction - apparently multiple players are up for auction simultaneously, more like waivers in-season. here are details from couch managers site: https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/guide.php I'm open to whatever. I'd like to get the draft out of the way, but out of fairness to the league a slow auction sounds like it could work. the couch managers interface is remarkably worse than ottoneu: https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/?auction_id=17
-
Im fine with that if we have to do it that way - Is there an easy way to import our whole player pool into their draft client? Also - How is the interface, if it is at least as good as Otto then there should be no problems because I find Otto client is terrible..
-
FWIW, I run a slow auction for an Ottoneu league every season. We have players from all over the world and have to set enormous time limits. We add nominations (after 40 players), and it takes all of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to complete. It's low monitoring...check it once or twice a day to see how it's moving. For those of us that are super busy, it is a 2 minute distraction a day rather than a 3-4 hour block of time one day. No decision has been made. Just know it's not that consuming.
-
Slow draft might work, but not a slow auction. That will take forever
-
I have 2 potential Clients coming in to talk to me this Thursday night. We would have met tomorrow, but the snowstorm has pushed us to Thursday.
Perhaps a Slow Draft might be the best option...
-
Thanks Poof. I took up the issue with Hot Mess. If anyone has thoughts on a slow draft option, leave those thoughts on the board.
-
Maybe we need a slow draft at couchmanagers.com, since we are having trouble finding a date that works for everyone. Check it out and see if that could be an option. I'm not very familiar with it. A friend of mine is drafting from there for his league and it seems pretty cool.
-
I can't do Thursday, but you can go ahead and draft without me if everyone else can do that time.
-
We are up to 10/12 for Thursday at 8ET. Still waiting for Sheryl and Margarita. We have until Wednesday to finalize this draft time.
-
I might not be in the draft room right at the start as that's 5pm here on the west coast and I often get home from work between 5 and 6. But I plan on making it as soon as possible.
-
Right now we are 9/12. Hot Mess is going to contact Sheryl to confirm. Margaritaville, and Mudville have yet to confirm. I know that Margaritaville's availability on Thursdays is touch and go. I'm hoping for the best.
-
The 21st should work for me. And, nice work {Poof}!
-
I likely will be an hour late, but since I only have $19 to spend I probably won't be doing much in that first hour anyway. Don't want to force a reschedule just for me. It's science fair display night at school for my two oldest
-
We have 7 confirmed for Thursday. Please let us know if Thursday at 8ET works for you. I’ll re-remind everyone tomorrow morning.
-
Works for me!
-
Good for me
-
Thursday night the 21st is good
-
How's that for some Lionel Richie! And yes, I did need to Google the songs...lol
-
Hello, is it me your looking for, I'll Truly be ready to draft All Night Long on 2/21 at 7:00CT. Hopefully the draft will be Easy like Sunday morning. I'll be ready and Dancing On The Ceiling when the draft arrives. It's my Endless Love for the competition that will Do It To Me One More Time. With Hot Mess and Chihuahuas, it'll be Once, Twice, heck maybe even Three Times A Lady there at the draft. I'll be here in my Brick House ready to Sail On through the draft. My Destiny is to win it!
-
Fine by me. If it has to be changed again I cannot do March because I am in 8 leagues
-
Missed my chance for a lionel richie joke in there.
-
And Poof-I promise to Lionthe draft open all night long
-
I’m counting Mararitaville as an ‘in’ for Thursday. I’m in. So, that’s 2.
-
Hey everyone! Let’s try this. We can make the draft on 2/21 at 8ET if we all can meet the following demand-please post on this message board by Wednesday 8/20 8ET that you can participate on Thursday. If we can get everyone to agree, we can move forward. If not, we’ll press forward with another option.
-
I can do late (like after 7pm)on 2/21
-
I also think we should clarify draft doesn't end until all teams have left the draft room. There can be a strategy to be the last one drafting at the end all alone. In the past, there was a situation where an owner had many spots to fill and a different Commish ended the draft saying owner would have to auction through transactions. That owner should be allowed to complete roster at draft. Ottoneu actually states: e. Each owner can leave the auction at any time. Once all 12 owners have left.
-
I prefer we set some clarification regarding missed nominations before draft. I think we should pause draft and require all owners must nominate a player. Or everyone gets one miss, then done if miss again. Something set beforehand. Seems like every year, in at least one of my leagues, someone conveniently starts having computer issues right before their bid comes up. I do recognize that Ottoneu draft room kinda sucks. Maybe with the price increase, it will be improved. We can hope.
-
He asked me if I could move to the 2/21 date and I said yes at anytime
-
Have we made a commitment to a draft date? 2/21 seems to be a good date now.
-
I'm good with either. I'm pulling for 21st. Let's start it up.
-
The days with the most availability are March 9 and February 21.
-
Mondays, Tuesday Nights, Wednesday Nights and Saturday Nights work best for me. I'm teaching a class on 3/9 so that won't work for me...
-
Is that 3 ET? I should be okay. Later in the auction could be difficult, but I should be able to make it work.
-
On the 9th I have to start at 4:00 because I have another draft earlier
-
3-7 works for me.
