  • I don't think the Rule 1 clarifies whether those 22 major leaguers may or may not be on the 60 day IL, though I would encourage you to have 22 major leaguers that are not on the 60 day IL, that would mean 18 spots that are free for reserves, minor or major leaguers, that is consistent with the existing Rule 1. We can look at this in the offseason if we want to have group input on how Rule 1 is used in our league.

  • To the question about penalties for failing to meet the roster requirements under Rule 1, Piggyback and I would like to see: If you are found out of compliance, you get a grace week and then you can only make moves that fix your roster. So Rule 1 requires at least 22 active major leaguers on your roster, that are capable of filling out the active lineup. This rule helps to maintain the competitive balance for the league and a limit to the # of MILB players.

  • With PB's input, sharing out reminder on roster construction rules:

    Each team shall during the regular season maintain a roster of 22 major-league players . . . The remaining 18 roster spots can be used for reserves, consisting of both major and minor leaguers.
    A roster of 22 major-league players capable of filling out a starting lineup as defined below shall be maintained regardless of any games started, games played or innings limits.
