With that, the draft is restarted. Scared hitless is on the clock. The overnight pause, his pick is due by 3pm EDT (1 hour tonight, 7 tomorrow). Thank you all for your patience and working through everything.

Gas house has also confirmed via message, just need Choo to say okay and we'll restart.
-
I'm good

I need confirmation from Gas House, Big League Choo, and Midwest that your picks are still solid. Berkley's Army sent me a note on Slack and is good with it.
-
And no, I do not want to change my pick. :)

I agree the rule about being on a roster at the end of the season is a bit odd, but I think it was put there to try and encourage the drafting of lower level minor league players as opposed to signing players closer to the majors--trying to discourage the MiLB draft from being a mere 5 player 40-man roster expansion at $0. If players were signed at the end of the season, the thinking is they were close enough/desirable enough to warrant consideration for the current/upcoming season.
-
I think this is fine... Kinda have to imagine it's like the player never really signed with their MLB team and are placed back into the draft
-
I'll also say I think it makes a difference adopting the MiLB draft into a league rather than establishing it at the beginning. I guess we can also vote on that if desired, I'm open to ideas as always. Just thought it made more sense to go this route...
-
That was a good game. Thought Wichita was gonna steal that one
-
So for our purpose, the rules posted yesterday for eligibility are what we are going by. If anyone wants to change their pick at this time, I understand and am open to that. Until I get confirmation from those who have drafted saying they want to keep their pick the draft is paused. Apologies again for being absent for the last couple hours.
-
Hi everyone! How is everyone doing this fine Sunday? Apologies for abscense, Kentucky was playing and haven't paid any attention. When going through the typical rules, Tatamagouche is correct is the sense that if someone was on a roster at the end of the season they are ineligible. However, for the spirit of what this is going for, when going through the rules that was intentionally removed as the goal was to allow drafting from the MiLB pool assuming no time in the big leagues.
-
Commish picked a bad time to be absent lol
-
With that clarification, does Tatamagouche want to change his pick?
-
And the rule you posted about not being owned the previous year is a stupid rule. I know it's not yours. But just sharing my thought. Because too many new draftees get auctioned and hen not kept. But by that rule they shouldn't be allowed in the MiLB draft. Which is where they belong.

Theybcant have any MLB experience. Which none of the guys have. Just because they were on a roster last year doesn't mean anything. MiLB 5 wasn't a thing for this league last year. So all those who don't have MLB experience and are actively avaialable in the Ottoneu universe are eligible.

I was only commenting because I saw Alvarez picked, knew he had been on my roster, remembered the rule from my previous draft, and so started down this road. :)
-
I don't care which set of rules that we use. Just explaining why I picked tucker.

I missed that post. So we are using amended MiLB rules? Not the standard issue? Not that I care, but it does alter the spirit of the MiLB draft drastically.
-
Our commish said on the board yesterday that the following were ineligible: Unsigned players (foreign or amateur), players with MLB experience (1 PA or IP), or anyone currently owned in the league.
-
Scroll to the right and you will also see a list of suggested players for a 2016 MiLB draft list. Mind you, some of them may be ineligible, but it gives you an idea that there are plenty of fish in this sea.
-
It is not a small pool. It is an enormous pool! Here is a link to the MiLB roster from another league I am in: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PbNFPDpD26rd5RpN1LAjRlFknKbC6QP6CDQbd80pJKY/edit#gid=0
