I think you sealed your fate when you cut Miguel Castro.

Yes, and as such, the Baseball Gods have spoken
-
Last year I traded for him after his great start and then he stunk for me. This year he has been bad and now I got him, so, according to baseball logic, he will be great and propel me to 1st place even though I am over 1000 pts. behind. Right?
-
I really wanted that to work out. Ah well. Good luck with him! ๐
-
Charlie Blackmon, why can't I quit you!?!?!?!
-
Thanks for the concern Schwarb (and SF as he rejected yet another one of my trade offers). I am doing ok here. Is part of living here but still not comfortable by any means. I live relatively far from where the action is but it is tense everywhere. Hopefully we are winding down the senseless violence.
-
very sad indeed - but more importantly
hopefully no Rockets any where close to your house !
I dont agree with crazy jewish settlers evicting people - from their homes
But cant imagine rocket fire at my home.
Hopefully Crazy BiBi and crazy Biden
can figure it out.
Stay Safe !
-
It is a very sad day for GG . Miguel Castro has been cut. The team will be wearing an MG patch on their uniforms for the rest of the year. I know the bidding will be very high
-
And Post Hype goes over 300 for the day. Wow.
-
Canโt believe I left 120 on the bench...
-
Pretty incredible night for Coastal -- and he had another 120 points on the bench!
-
Miguel Castro AND Andrew Chafin (have you seen a recent picture of him) on the same team. Watch out everyone!!
-
Thanks SF but it was stupid. Starting pitchers in DH's seem to be a good strategy, especially against Tigers. Not sure what I was (not) thinking.
-
Cease is a tough nut to crack: very talented but still wildly inconsistent.

Can you please add in the 62 points I left on bench from D Cease last night. Bonehead!! Stats don't lie!

i have 3450 in OPL right now, so ive known from day 1 my daily decision making was awful..great work on the analysis
-
Very cool. I knew I was making lots of bad decisions, but this just quantifies that. Thanks, Michael!

Thanks for putting that together. Interesting.
-
But a lot, of course, depends on our darn lineup decisions and clearly some are better (or luckier) than others on that front. Here's the link to the spreadsheet -- I may update it every now and then, but feel free to do so, or add other columns and crowd-source it. I'm no stats whiz. . . .
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ryB0JNlboLvNv0jm-XihjkaMyIZ-IHeHNuvLxrmBWdo/edit?usp=sharing
-
Like all stats, this tells us more and less than first appears. Teams that don't leave a lot of points on the bench score more points -- duh! But that could because of shrewd lineup setting, or because of very judiciously managing pitching innings to stay under the cap. The different approached of PLR ( zero pitching points left on the bench!) and SF Finos is an example. Also differences in roster strategy: Post-Hype and PLR basically have the minimal number of relievers.
-
I've seemingly made a lot of bad lineup choices lately, so it got me wondering about points left on the bench. Under the Team Production page, you can see it for each team. So I added it all up, and here's what I calculated for "lineup efficiency" (100% minus % of points left on bench): Rabbits: 96%, Post-Hype: 95%, Obviously Five: 87%, Coastal, 83%, 2nd Order: 82%, Scarlet B's: 78%, Hit 'em Up: 76%, Liquid Swords: 75%, SF Finos: 69%, Water Specs: 68%, Golani Gang: 67%, Schwarbs: 56%.
-
Much obliged, GG.
-
WS, I showed my sympathy by putting up a nice -59 from my pitching staff yesterday. Maeda and Montas-bums!
-
Thanks for the sympathy, but it's even worse than that: add in the latest starts from Patrick Corbin and Stephen Strasburg and it adds up to a whopping -174 points in just four starts. If I had just sat those guys, I'd be in 7th place right now. Good news - things have to get better? Uh, right?
-
I gotta offer some condolences to the Water Spectaculars for their pitching line yesterday: -44 points from Lucas Giololito in one inning(!) and then Joe Ross drops a -39.93. Ooftah.
-
I saw that this morning. Great piece...well-deserved for Niv and ON!! We'll always be the somewhat OG Ottoneu players.

Hey we're famous! Well, not us exactly, but this little Ottoneu endeavor: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/04/13/ottoneu-fantasy-baseball-niv-shah/

Don't expect the 11 other teams in this league who are behind you to feel the same level of injustice. The good news is that JDM seems to back in the groove.

I think you have enough points already.
-
I am filing a joint suit against Ottoneu and Alex Cora for the COVID-19 designation that was placed on JD Martinez yesterday causing me to bench him and thus losing out on 44.60 points. Grrrrrrrrrr ๐คฌ

3 best hitters on the IL, Tatis, Bellinger and Eloy.... The season is going great!! Thank goodness I have Miguel Castro
-
Welcome back, baseball -- and fans in the stands! Good luck this season, everyone.
-
I will see your N Anderson and raise you an Eloy. Too bad Miguel Castro can't play outfield also.

Spring Training is getting dangerous...

GG has not drafted a real closer in years, always going after the holds high strikeout guys. This year I decide to pay a little more for a closer, K Yates. And he is hurt. STICK TO THE PLAN!!
-
I still believe in 2016! And I'll outbid anyone for Trevor Williams if it comes down to it. ;)
-
Nice trade! I think SB is trying to amass the entire Cubs roster!!

Haha. The power move was not showing up for the auction last year and winning.
-
Power move by the Champs btw. Coastal wins the championship and doesn't even need to show up for the draft!!
-
Hi all -- a reminder that the draft is tomorrow(3/4) at 9pm EST. See you in the draft room!
-
Thanks for the quick responses on the draft poll everyone. Thursday, March 4th at 9pm EST / 6pm PST is our time. Good luck with your draft prep!
-
About half the league has filled out the scheduling poll for the draft -- please do so if you haven't: https://doodle.com/poll/emepwevmud9xpdq7?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link
-
A reminder that for those not in the eastern time zone, the keeper deadline is earlier than midnight.
-
First off -- thanks to everyone for renewing by the deadline and for all the keeper deadline activity. It'll be interesting to see if there are any deadline deals still out there. And good thoughts on the draft. We've typically drafted between the end of Feb and the first two weeks of March, so let's shoot for that again. Please fill out this poll with ALL the possible dates for you - not just your ideal. Thanks! https://doodle.com/poll/emepwevmud9xpdq7?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link
-
Iโm good with that!
