Just my input; I would be ok with a vote to see if a majority prefers daily changes. I was a little surprised to actually find out it was weekly. I agree with stars hollow that weekly lineups seems to run contrary to the idea of having deep rosters. No offense but the "obnoxious burden" of daily lineups sounds a little exaggerated. But if we vote to stay with weekly lineups, my excitement for the league will not be diminished. Opening day cannot get here fast enough.
-
For this first week of the season would the lineup be set on Sunday for the entire week ?

Yeah, Hook is dead-on: this league exists because I do enjoy the Ottoneu dynasty format, but found the platooning and matching up and trying to check lineups several times a day for months was an obnoxious burden. Even if I didn't hate it, pretty sure making a major structural change to the format post-draft would be frowned upon.

I believe this league was started because the founders did not like the daily aspect of daily leagues. You are right about how much it changes player value though. Sadly, I only figured that out this morning.

Just a thought that came to me after having a discussion about player values, with such deep rosters, this game changes quite a bit by becoming a weekly lineup league, nobody will ever hit their player caps or be able to use their depth, it basically only functions as daily league, just want everybody's opinion on whether we should make a change before the season starts, or if that is even an option, the deep rosters really are meant to shine in a daily league, where you can platoon and matchup

Don't worry about Byung Ho Park's family though. They can't read english, so you can trash him all you want.
-
Dude, CUBS! You know Steve Matz mom reads this right?! Jesus, talking about ripping her poor motherly heart right out. Not to mention David Peralta's little cousin. He thinks his big cousin is like, the best, or whatever.. and you tell him he's nothing. Christ, way to dash the dreams of a little kid.

Nice put down. Good luck this year ... stay classy.

Third bit of feedback I've gotten on that trade, but first one that liked the Miggy side of that deal. Pretty sure your evaluation of "essentially nothing" isn't shared by many. Probably not anyone.

So ... we're trading essentially nothing for a 4-time batting Champ, MVP, Triple Crown winner future HOFer ?

Here we are more than 12 hours after the draft's conclusion, and no one has made me a trade offer. And I thought this was gonna be an active league...

But it's also possible that everyone needs to click the "I'm done with the draft" button in the draft room.

There is no obligation to roster 40 players. The draft can end as soon as everyone can field a full starting lineup. If everyone has a full starting lineup the commish can end the draft whenever, I think.

Point made SH .. wold it be best to have one last quick session to complete the rosters rather than have us buy players randomly over the next week or so ? Commish ?
-
Until you guys all buy 40 players in the Draft it won't let the real season begin. We are still locked out as a league from setting our lineups. It won't let us set out lineups until everybody buys 40 players.

The FG projections like WallaWalla's first night much better than anyone else's. Then again, a lot of that value comes from a Coors-free and plantar-stricken Corey Dickerson and old man Holiday who's dealing with a bad back. So we'll see what value he gets from those 2. He snuck A-Gonz thru while I was in the pisser, don't know what everyone else was up to. Anybody like anyone else's roster better than their own? I had a rough night. Too much bourbon

Have heard a few voices in favor of switching to allocations and none in support of vote-off, so I'll switch it before the draft unless anybody has real issues with changing it.

Usually the middle of October to the middle of November. Last year it was 10/15/2015 to 11/14/2015.

just for clarity ; when exactly is the "official allocation period" ?
-
I would definitely vote for allocations over vote-off. The allocation system is a lot of fun, and there are usually a number of interesting strategies at play. It also gives you the option of keeping "your guys", even if they get a little pricey. With vote-offs you lose someone every year.

Hey Commish ... how will we determine draft order ?
-
Also, everyone please be logged into the draft room by 6 eastern tomorrow evening. I don't think I'll hold the start until I see that everyone is there - we're gonna just get rolling on time. But text me at 919-247-3136 if you have technical difficulties.

Hey everyone, just wanted to point out that our current arbitration system for the offseason is set for vote-off instead of allocations. Making a note of this since it's different than what most of us have done before. It's much simpler. Everyone just loses a guy (presumably their best deal as determined by the league) each off-season. I'm not set on this if a majority want to go with allocations, so speak up if you have a strong preference.

So guys, what did we decide as far as the draft is concerned ?
-
New to the league, very excited to try the format, and nights are best for me, im in Toronto so EST, and as long as i have warning i can make anything work. And, just to chime in, huge blue jays fan. Scared for our pitching situation though.

The Gnats may not be "rebuilding" (aka tanking), but well - https://twitter.com/TheNatsBlogJoe/status/689163256921985024 . I was gonna make a crack about the last time the franchise won anything it was in Canada, but hell, the franchise has never even won a playoff series, much less a World Series. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/WSN/

Also, to make sure everyone is on a perfectly level playing field, those of you unfamiliar with the RNC half of the league, us 6 are fans of: BoSox, Barves, D-bags, Reds, Orioles, and Nats. Since 5/6 of those teams are likely to be terrible because they are deficient in talent, I'll understand if I'm bid up on Nationals. It's a price I'm willing to pay for enjoying a not-shitty team.
