not driving me mad Ninjas, sucks about Schwarber though, and you're doing better than me and i never said your team was bad, just that it wouldn't be able to deal with any injury, which sadly i was right about
-
Check it out Stars! I'm not in last! And! My fat fucking catcher tore all the ligaments in his knee! AND we don't have weekly lineups for me to fix it! AND my shitty team doesn't have ANY other catchers so I couldn't even fix it if I wanted to. Jesus. This whole scenario must be driving you mad.

Or Neil Walker is available. They're both better than what most of you are playing at middle

Yeah, I would welcome anyone who doesn't like the format to find a different one. I'd also encourage you all to check the settings for future leagues that you may choose to participate in, you know, before the draft.

it just means the guys that are stars and play a lot are worth more (Posey, etc), that we have to watch number of games played each week, and that prospects take up more roster space. I frankly manage two other daily leagues and keeping up with a third would be a head ache. If this weekly format doesnt work with you, there are daily ones out there. And I know a guy who wants in this league and would take your team. Not saying I want you out, but if this league isnt meeting your expectations...
-
now that i think about it we spent over 6-7 hours drafting rosters in which half of we won't use! i don't see why we would go through such a long draft process and build dynasty style teams and not be able to use them.
-
we all have players we wish weren't on the bench, but yes story is devastating for you, but i have 90 points on my bench between sanchez and finnegan, that could have easily been rotated in! but i feel your pain on story, i just think when an injury happens i'll feel bad for somebody who started that person
-
At least you didn't leave Trevor Story on your bench

all the pitching depth i created, and forgot it's going to be useless without injury, had more points on my bench than my starters yesterday!
-
Ninja, you had Greinke get -30 points, which basically cancelled out your entire day of points from other players
-
Niv - Ottoneu's proprieter - has fixed the lineup period overlap issue, and is working on fixing the lineups in case you're wondering where the fuck your bench players went today.

I did set my lineup, but only managed 2.7 points yesterday. Maybe I didn't have anyone on any of the 24 teams that played yesterday.
-
So I came on here looking to drop Shawn Kelly, only to realize that I don't have him in this league. Whoever has him should drop him. Did anyone else see that? Bases loaded and he throws 4 straight balls in the dirt. Yikes. Also, it seems I have Grilli for some reason. I don't want that guy - first RP offer I get for him straight up I'll take. And yes, new guys, I do manage this impulsively. Send me offers when my guys have bad games.

Sorry Ninja Man .. thought maybe you hadn't set your lineup.
-
I think it's pretty clear: I don't have anyone on my team that plays for any of the six teams that played yesterday. JESUS I suck.
-
What happened to the Ninjas yesterday ?
-
Heads up on an Ottoneu quirk - if you have an RP who gets a start, or a starter who is used out of the bullpen, you won't get those stats. You have to have the guy I the same role in which he is used.

with no upcoming matchups tool, it is going to be such a pain to project which starter is going to get the most starts in a given week, or which position player's team has the most games
-
If anyone has roster room and would like to grab a couple prospects cheaply, let me know. Like a good RP or slight positional upgrade. I've got like 9 minor leaguers, and that's probably a good 4 too many.

Foxtrottin Ninjas's trade block has been updated!
-
Stars - I'm basically the 2015 San Diego Padres. A new GM rolls into town and drops his load buying as many big names as he can. Irrespective of whether any of them make financial sense, or constitute a full roster. I have Trout and Machado MOTHER FUCKERS! We are totally going to win. In March. By mid May we'll realize that we are complete idiots and start selling off all our assets for a case of beer and a bag of baseballs. You, sir, should be grateful for someone like me.
-
Damn. The fangs are out in the baseball nerd kingdom.
-
Also, Ninja might as well be a dead owner, Mazara is a starting OF for him, as well Drew Pomeranz his 5th SP, neither of which will occupy those spots. the season hasn't even started yet and that's 2 dead spots in a starting lineup on a roster in our league
-
or El Ninja-rino, if you're not into that whole brevity thing
-
My apologies, i shall refer to you as Ninja in the future

We prefer Foxtrottin' Ninjas, or if brevity is your thing. Ninja.

Everybody should update their trade blocks to facilitate discussion on needs, very hard to start a trade bargain from Zero

that was me, Stars.

who was the owner that was interested in Max Kepler?
-
And it is a requirement – if you miss a couple offensive starts a week that’s 50 games over the course of a season and 200 – 250 points. Add in another 250 points from falling short of your innings cap and you’re looking at a ceiling of 4th or 5th place. Personally, I am looking forward to the challenged of maximizing GP/IP in a weekly setting. Now, who wants to trade me starting pitching for some of my extra bats?

I enjoy the daily format and play in a couple daily leagues. They are a lot of fun, provided you start everyday with fangraphs, set your lineups during your morning coffee, and check in throughout the day to monitor any unplanned scratches or late breaking injury news. If you don’t, you just can’t compete with the guys that do. The big advantage of weekly leagues is that they don’t require that level of everyday obsessiveness.

I guess murder, but if you have even one injury to any of your players, you're going to be leaving spots empty in your starting lineups, especially with no money for any in season adjustments, Foxtrotting has a non-MLB player in his starting lineup, and a platoon bat at first and Catcher, he's going to have zero chance to win considering he's going to get very few plate appearances at key positions
-
it's an nl and al pool league, so u shouldn't b stuck with hitters n a significant platoon system. i know i'm not.
-
It's a weekly lineup league. There won't be a change.

I'm torn on this. I like the idea alot of not having to spend the time it takes every day to set lineups, but I think it is pretty apparent that this will function much better in a daily setting. I'm good either way.

I vote "daily"
-
You'll end up with a dead team (or mostly dead team) if we go daily. I'm not looking at this every day.
-
Interesting reply from the author of an ottoneu article on rotographs today:
Weekly lineup setting in Ottoneu could potentially change everything about the game, including player values and the ability to maximize GP and IP caps. The game is really built for daily changes to take advantage of deep rosters, platoons, pitching matchups, etc. I would recommend the daily option if at all possible.
