My plan coming into the auction was to buy Trout and then use him to solve my other needs. This is a fair trade that does not come close to violating any league rule. If it is vetoed my team will not be in compliance with no time to correct the issue, which is probably the idea behind this nefarious smear campaign. A shame that some cannot put their personal feelings of a stranger aside.
-
I have caught wind of members of this league encouraging others to veto the trade I recently completed as I seek to bring my team into compliance. I would ask those who veto this trade to please justify your decision. The only reason to issue a veto is if you feel teams are colluding. This ain’t it. My team has specific needs in order to reach roster minimums that are satisfied of this trade for the expensive player I have no attachment to.

great minds...

No prob! Only reason I knew that was because I checked the rules since I inherited a bottom team and was curious how much I could use that power in the last week. Turns out, Otto was a step ahead!

Thanks for getting back.

Before the season begins, it’s an automated coin toss if there is a tie in dollar bid.
The standings is only for during the season
-
Question. If the bidding in an auction results in a tie doesn't the team lower in the standings win the bid?

We have takeoff, and now Otto is blowing up my email, so I'm going to excuse myself from this league until needed or, hopefully, promoted. Best of luck, y'all. -Ian

If anyone needs an elite 3B, I have three. Arenado, Chapman, and Rendon. Make me an offer

Biggest mistake I made was cutting DeJong at $13 and ending up now paying $14 for Kim Ha-seong. Paying more for a complete unknown at a position of need

Here we go

Almost that time

An hour to go. Good luck to everybody in the draft tonight.

Appreciated! See y'all on the 23rd.

Okay, so the settling seems to be on Tuesday the 23rd, starting at 7:00 PM EST. I'm going to go ahead and set that now. -Ian
-
Tuesday the 23rd I can do at pretty much any time, so lots of flexibility if we do it on that day.
-
I can do 7 if everyone else is good with it. I wouldn't want to be the hold up for the entire group.
-
I can make 7pm on the 23rd work. 6 would be tough

Please don't be offensive. This isn't a place for your personal opinions. I'm sure you can find many outlets for this sort of stuff on social media. Be happy that someone found a creative way to get an army of the entitled to spend 3 minutes filling out a doodle.

Not me. I vote for the weekday draft.

I can make Tuesday, March 23rd at 6:00pm work for me. Seems like both Late to the Party and Pete Crow Medicine show are amenable to that date as well in this chat. That just leaves Sveet & John Ford as the only other two who did not pick that date to work for them (I'm assuming that John Ford is either MakeitRayn or Pete Crow Medicine show by process of elimination)
-
earlier is fine for me, my first draft of the season is 20th and im fine drafting the week of 3/14-3/19
-
3/22 and 3/23 I can do absolutely any time. 3/29 I'm already just a Maybe, but I could get closer to Y if it's earlier. 3/30 I'd like to avoid.

And if anyone can look back and reevaluate to put another day with an earlier slot in play, that'd be a gracious thing. Oh, also, "John Ford" in the doodle is definitely not actually John Ford in real life, so either somebody here is a weird creep, or doodle is a weird creep. -Ian
-
So as Pete Crow points out, the four leading dates are Monday and Tuesday the 22nd and 23rd, or Monday and Tuesday the 29th and 30th, with the leading time being 8:00 PM for a start. But we have one person stating that they can't do before 8:00 PM and another for whom that actually means 1:00 AM, and is asking for us to start as early as possible. So . . . how early can people start, like for real (I totally get the bedtime thing)? Probably best to just talk it out here. -Ian
-
i am free to AUCTION players any tiem of day
-
Due to familial responsibilities that I'm sure many others here share I don't think it would be possible for me to engage in this salary cap bidding process before 8 PM EST.
-
Also why did nomo respond to the Doodle poll? I thought he left this league?

I see that most of the Doodle options with more availability from those who've answered are more at the end of March but after 8PM EST, I humbly ask that we can do a draft at 7PM or earlier since I'm over here in GMT time. Doubly so when it's a weeknight and I have work the next day.

It looks like four dates show complete overlap for the first half of teams so far: 3/22, 3/23, 3/29, 3/30 each for the later time slot. Would it be possible to narrow our focus to just these four date/time combos and try to eliminate those that don't work from there?
-
I'd say wait til at least 2nd week of march before we draft
-
Okay, here's a poll. If you don't want to do it too early, just say no on the earlier dates. All time blocks are approximate, so if you could start at 6:30 but not at 6:00 on a day, just say so here and we'll work it out. https://doodle.com/poll/us5e84s3wm44az8x?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link

Doodle coming tonight. Thanks for your patience and your pokes, all. -Ian
-
I'd prefer if someone, perhaps one of our commissioners, put together a Doodle poll so we can try and ensure a date that everyone can make it. Draft should be pretty exciting this year with a big Trout in the pool.

How about Sunday, March 28th as draft day?
We ought to know the MLB Covid protocols by then as well, being that it's so close to Opening Day

Soooo can we all. agree that Mr. Rowenhoser drops Ohtani with no penalty and move on from this? I'd consider future shenanigans to be worth stiff penalties including fines and/or the dismissal of players. Play ball!
-
Thank you Ian
-
You're off to a great start.
-
The offseason is long and then year is hard. I forget things, too. I think it's a better league with a little bit of mercy and more participation. I'll cut Ohtani tonight. Fwiw, I kept him in AAA at $23. I'll also remove your commish powers O'K, and quit my passive pressure. Thanks for running things last year. -Ian
-
No, but I will. I’m as sure of that as I am I will beat you in the standings! 😉

I’m not asking anyone or blaming anyone. Simple mistake. My birthday also happens the same time every year and I forget that too. If they want to cut him for me, that’s cool. If not, that’s cool too.
Even with Ohtani gone I wouldn’t have much money for the draft sim I’m not too concerned with that either.
And I can guarantee you this team will not be a last place team this season. Thank you for your concern though.
-
As for how I personally feel, you're already starting with the last place team and it was somewhat obvious you [should have] cut Ohtani, but everyone else followed the rules. Overall I'm ambivalent, depends what others/the commishes want. (also I shouldn't be listed as commish, I told Ian I'm done after last year)
