Okay, fine. We can take a vote and I agree to go along with the majority. I think you know which way I'm voting.
-
Haha. Everyone take a step back. Breathe Lol. "We talkin bout fantasy baseball." Let's try to put things in perspective here and not get bent out of shape with each other. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter either way. I say we just take a vote and be done with it.

Dude it's not a threat. It's my choice as to whether to participate in the only league I know of that wants to hold a draft in March when the entire sports world has shut down and we're not even sure if there's going to be a season. The argument that we might not be able to get our auction scheduled once MLB decides to resume is absurd. There will be plenty of time to schedule it. MLB is not going to say, 'Hey the season starts tomorrow, get ready'.
-
Haha, love threats... So ridiculous... Players randomly get sick and injured throughout the season. You can't predict what will or won't happen. That's the entire point of a dynasty. Everyone who held onto Severino is kicking themselves now, it's unpredictable. If the league votes to change the draft, then so be it, but it's a bit unfair to try and force the commishes hand because you feel a certain way.
-
Let me be even clearer than before folks. My other leagues are rescheduling. I will not participate in this league at this point and will ask for my money back if we don't reschedule this thing. There is no way I'm going to start bidding on players not knowing who is sick and who is healthy. That's just insane.
-
I play in multiple leagues, and every one of those leagues are discussing rescheduling. What happens when baseball decides we play in one week and we haven't drafted yet. Now we are all stuck trying to fit our drafts in within a week and meeting everyones schedule. Obviously if someone has an issue, it's understandable, but this virus hasn't even hit swine flu proportions yet. I think rescheduling will cause larger issues.
-
If someone is dealing with a situation that recently came up and the draft time is an issue, then I think it makes sense to reschedule. However, if that isn't the case, I think it would probably be easiest to keep the draft date when it is.

We should reschedule. This is a dynasty league, so it's even more important to know dates of when players are eligible to come up, etc. than in a re-draft league.
-
My vote would be to reschedule. That way we are respectful to those who may be dealing with situations far more important than fantasy baseball. From a fantasy standpoint, I think it also makes sense. God forbid you draft someone that something serious happens to.
-
Keep the date and draft, no guarantees at this point. We don't want to be left scrambling at a later date.
-
In light of the quickly escalating chaos around the world, I wanted to get the pulse of the $100 OS Hardball League. MLB is reportedly going to suspend spring training games after today, and I really don't see how they are going to be able to start the 2020 regular season on schedule, with all other sports shutting down. My recommendation is that we temporarily postpone Monday's draft until we have a handle on how all this is going to play out. Does anyone else have thoughts?
-
The draft is set for Monday, March 16, 8 pm EDT. Thank you to everyone for helping to isolate a mutually acceptable date.
-
Draft Date Update: As of this morning, it looks like we are down to a handful of select weeknights in March as our remaining options, likely a Mon or Tues. If any of those are potential conflicts for you, please go to the Doodle poll and check them off (if you have not already). I will announce the winning (no conflict) date this weekend.
-
Hey fellas, let's help the Commish out and go onto the Doodle site and select your dates so he can get a draft date set. Only six teams have done it so far. Let's make it easier for him and go ahead and submit your dates for him as he requested. Trying to get a draft date can be a pain for a Commish, so I'm sure he would appreciate a quick response to selecting your dates on Doodle.

If you can't find a date that works, maybe we should look at a slow draft.

Got it, thanks. Not sure why is wasn't working for me earlier.

You should just be able to copy and paste the URL. That's all I did.

Regarding the Doodle Poll for Draft Date Unavailability, three teams have successfully entered their bad dates, so the process seems to be working. If anyone has difficulty, feel free to message me directly or here with any/all dates that are bad for you between now and Opening Day. Let's see if we can find a mutually agreeable date by the end of the week.
-
Thanks Torpedoes-It may be just me, but I'm having difficulty getting into our poll's page. When I've created them in the past, I had to provide the email of the participants, so they can be invited to join the poll. Not sure if that is the issue or if it is just me. Thanks.

It sounded initially if a Sunday in March would be a good option, but apparently that is not the case. I have created a new Doodle poll here: https://doodle.com/poll/2as8b8snnafqgyp7
Please select any of these options that will NOT work for you and let's see if we can settle on a mutually acceptable date and time.

I can’t do the 22nd. Sorry about that.

Alrighty, then. 3/8 OUT, 3/15 OUT, are there any objections to the evening of Sunday, March 22?
-
7-8 is a no go for me, but I can do the 22nd at night
-
Sorry to make things difficult, but I' can't do the 15th. The 8th or the 22nd (in the evening) would be good though. Thanks.

I have another at 7pm that day. If we can do it earlier in the day it works for me.
-
Now that we have keepers locked in, it's time to nail down a draft date. Does anyone have objections to Sunday afternoon, March 15? If not, please sing out if you have a time preference.

You can access the private messaging system by clicking on the icon to the right of the "Tools" icon at the top of the screen. It will be overlaid by a yellow bubble with a number signifying the number of unread messages in your inbox.
-
No, I'm not aware of it. I see a place to post a message, but I assume that's going to the entire group. As I said, I'm still finding my way around. I'm used to the CBS site and have never used this one.
-
That's Disgusting - are you aware if the messaging feature in this format? I sent you a message weeks ago that is still marked as unread. It's a very useful feature to discuss potential trades before making offers.
-
My initial message was not about the merits of this particular trade. It was about the lack of response to my proposals and messages and to see if others had the same issue. It appears perhaps I am alone in this, which is unfortunate.
-
My issue has been with Hot Spurs...He used to be really active, but has been out this off-season, even his trade block is from last year. He does have like 12 teams..so...I just haven't gotten a single response from him all off-season. I also use "issue" loosely, different strokes for different folks, so it's not a big deal, but like I said, a simple rejection would be nice.
-
Okay, now I’ll agree then. I thought you were speaking about new owner That’s Disgusting. Your correct, HotSpurs hasn’t responded. But I don’t see anything wrong with the accepted trade though.

Ultimately, it’s a game. Part of the fun for me is trying to find a trade and be competitive. Just respond somehow in a timely manner. If your uncertain and thinking it over, just send a message saying your still thinking on it. Reject it, counter it. And lastly don’t get insulted over an offer. We all view players differently. One mans trash may be another’s treasure.

I haven’t had a problem. That’s Disgusting has rejected the offer I sent(like most of you others have....lol). And I don’t see anything at all wrong with the accepted trade. Nothing to see here in my opinion. There does appear to be more than one owner saying they didn’t get a response. I would ask that all owners please be considerate to your fellow owners and respond somehow. Nothing more annoying than waiting for a response.

Disgusting, I'm referring to hot spurs, he used to be pretty active...
-
"Honestly, even a rejection would be nice." Killer Bee's, I rejected your trade days ago. I'm sorry you didn't see it. I'm still learning my way around the site.
-
I don't know if any of you noticed, but I've come into your league by way of inheriting a team with which I have no chance of competing this season. That being said, I want to build something for the future. Any offers which allow me to do this I will consider, but the trades I've been offered so far are pretty bad. I've rejected all but one of them. The trade with Hotspurs is one that makes some sense. If you want to offer me something like that, I will definitely consider it
-
Same here...

Glad to see I wasn't the only one to experience this. I can handle dealing with unresponsive owners, but I am concerned to see that the unresponsiveness is apparently selective and does not apply to Hotspurs, who he happens to know personally.
-
Czech, I am right there with you. Multiple emails and offers and never a response. I even sent an offer as soon as I saw that one go through, and no response, still pending. Honestly, even a rejection would be nice.
-
I find it very interesting to see this trade accepted today after receiving zero response from our new owner to my messages and multiple trade proposals during the course of the offseason. It's especially interesting given that the new owner was brought in by Hotspurs. Am I alone here, or have others had the same experience this offseason with our new owner?
-
I'm sending out offers before the deadline. If I send you an offer that is a duplicate from the past, my apologies. I can't remember all that I have offered and not researching to see what I did. A simple reject, with a counter-offer if any interest, or a message stating you plan to keep the player I inquire about would be great. Just trying to see if any of my tradeable pieces have interest before the deadline.

I'm new. How do I pay?
-
Just a friendly reminder that the roster freeze deadline AND the deadline for making payment for the 2020 season are both this coming Friday, January 31. You have one week! We should also start working to lock down a draft date. If anyone has days/times of the week that are generally a no-go, or other upcoming conflicts/concerns, please sing out this weekend. Last year we did it on a Sunday at 3p EST, which seemed to work pretty well for everyone. MLB Opening Day is Thu 3/26.
-
With cuts due next Friday, trade offers should be increasing. Could all owners please make sure to respond quickly somehow to any offers. Owners trying to make last minute trades and your response helps to determine which direction to move. Thanks.
