We should ask for refunds from Ottoneu. There is no season happening this year...
-
Realistically, whenever they decide to move forward it will be accompanied by at least a 4 week rollout, so we should be in fine shape to find a date. No point, in my opinion, in drafting before we know the rules of the league and guidelines. Players who are 'at risk' may sit out, that's a huge factor before we start picking players...I don't want to be researching everyone's medical history LMAO
-
The longer this thing drags out, the longer we can wait to draft. I just don’t want to get into a situation where we are scrambling a week before the start of the season to find a date everyone can make. One positive with drafting is we can then begin to make transactions. I guess we will push things back into July and wait until we hear more from MLB. Try to keep Sunday evenings open in July, if possible. Once we hear official season details and rules, I’ll follow up with an update.
-
Even if the MLB does end up playing a season this year, I vote that the salaries don't automatically go up, nor should we have an arbitration next year.
It just doesn't seem right. Considering the circumstances.
-
I did some searching, I don't see baseball starting anytime soon.
Why would we draft?
-
Is baseball starting up?
-
Hey all, we have decided to move the draft date to June 28. This will be the final change and we will for sure be having it on this date, unless there is someone who cannot make it.
-
Sounds good to me
-
Let's push it back and target a date in late May or early June. It sounds like there is some momentum for a shortened season with some extra quirks - such as a DH among every single team. These types of details I would like to know about before we draft, as it could effect some players. For now, I am going to set the draft date for Sunday, June 7. If anyone knows for sure they can't make that day, let me know.
-
I vote push it back (at least a bit), we should have more information in the next two weeks or so...
-
What's the ruling, commish? Are we having the draft May 3rd or are we pushing it back to sometime in June?
-
Also, with all that has happened and will continue to happen with a shortened or lost season, the players we currently have, will they get the automatic monetary raises next year? I seriously hope not!
-
yeah definitely not set on may 3... im good with pushing it... just whenever
-
I’m ready whenever
-
I would also vote holding off for a bit
-
I say we hold off. June is still over a month away yet. So we can easily find a date before then, escpecially since no one is going anywhere.
-
may 3 is good with me
-
Hey all - I would like to hear what some think about the auction draft date. Since we already paid the ottoneu fee this year, I think we should definitely have the draft at some point. I know I originally scheduled it for this Sunday, May 3. Do we want to keep it for this day or push it back until we have a better idea on when the season will start? Right now, latest report is July 1 being best case scenario for start of season.
-
May 3rd is open for me.
-
With the CDC's latest suggestion, its looking like the season will not be starting until late May at the absolute earliest. With this, I think we have enough of a window to be confident in finding another date closer to the actual start of the season. Any thoughts? Would probably be looking at a draft in late April or early May. Maybe May 3?

Probably in the minority here, but I suggest we push the draft. Who knows when the season will start and having a hiatus, there will be injuries picking it back up. I think we should set a draft date once there is a set in stone date to start the season.
-
We are going to proceed with keeping the draft as scheduled - March 22 at 6:30 pm eastern time. Don't know for sure when the MLB season will start (right now its April 9), and I don't want to get into a situation where we have to rush to get the draft done in case they change the date of opening day again. If anyone suggests otherwise, please let me know. For now, plan on March 22 at 6:30 pm eastern time.
-
I have set the draft to be Sunday, March 22 at 6:30 pm eastern time, 5:30 pm central. I have yet to hear of anyone who cannot make this. Please say something ASAP if it does not work. Looking forward to it!

One last thing that I failed to mention: everyone here needs to renew their team by January 31 (and pay the ottoneu fee). If you fail to renew, your team will automatically be marked as Abandoned, and it takes a process to get it back. Hopefully we don't have this issue with anyone. Let me know if anyone has any questions about this.

Ottoneu rolled out a few changes to the platform. Only one pertains to our league, and that is a new Auto-eject feature. Seems like a pretty good addition. You can read more at this link: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/planned-baseball-gameplay-changes-for-2020-gp-ip-cap-changes-and-auto-eject-option/6736
No one voiced any concern over having the auction draft on Sunday, March 22 at 5:00 pm. Please put that in your calendars as that will be the time and day we do it unless someone objects.

Hey fellas, I'm home from work for the day and likely in all night evaluating my roster, so I encourage you to text me to talk trades and such @ (636) 578-5028. I'm very flexible and potentially willing to take on some salary, since I have some space. Let's talk trade!!
-
Quick update: Keeper Deadline is January 31. Following the keeper deadline, a team salary must never exceed $360 + the number of players on the roster (a trade with a loan will allow you to exceed this limit). We are aiming to have the auction draft on Sunday, March 22 at 5:00 pm central standard time. For the new guys, I would plan around 3 hours for the auction draft. If this day or time does not work for you, please send me a text message.

Looking to move Bauer. Buy low timing. Reunited with Boddy and Driveline in Reds FO. Could be monster year with Reds scoring runs.
-
Hey sorry guys, been a little slow finally getting around to this! Know some of you have sent me trade requests, didn't know my roster well enough at the time. Please re-send. Open to all trade inquiries. Looking to trade SS and OF..... team needs: RP/SP.

Salary adjustments have been made. If you are curious, you can use the following link (https://www.dropbox.com/s/kvj8dx11w4q0moz/Allocations.png?dl=0) to see what allocations Starting From the Bottom made. The only change in this link is the allocation to Eduardo Rodriguez (The Syndicate) will be $1 instead of 2 and a $1 allocation to Patrick Corbin (Kuhl Krushers) was added. Please let me know if I have incorrectly adjusted a salary.

Just an FYI... One of our new owners (Starting From the Bottom) forgot to put allocations towards one team, and because of this, none of his allocations counted. I'm going to manually adjust player salaries per his requested allocations (I will post the allocations on this message board so everyone is aware of the dollar amounts). The same allocation rules will apply as usual (max $3 per team, $25 overall). I would recommend not cutting any players until after this is completed...

This team did not deserve to be there haha. They played out of their minds and had a guy named Jack Flaherty carry them the 2nd half. Was a great run for em, overachieved tremendously and it will only unfortunately force ownership and upper management to lay their own egg moving forward and falsely make them believe they are world series contenders
-
Probably jinxing it, but wow! Did the Cards just lay the biggest egg in NLCS history?
-
Happy Arb day...the key dates for the upcoming season can be found here: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/13/calendar ... if anyone has questions about arbitration, please do not hesitate to ask me or anyone in the league who has been here for a few years. Just FYI, there are some good explanations if you visit the rules page (top right corner) or google "ottoneu arbitration". You all have 1 month to complete your allocations.

Good news, we have filled all of our open spots in the league. Welcome Branham who will be taking over Shildt Happens and welcome Eric who will be taking over Starting From the Bottom. We now have a full league heading into 2020. Arbitration begins on October 15.

Welcome everyone! I can definitely tell we had more full-season involvement this year than in any of the other 4/5 years we've had this league. I wanna say we had 9-10 owners never really pack it in. So super excited to maybe get those last 2 or 3 under new ownership and hopefully have full season involvement from all 12 teams. Looking forward to 2020.
-
Hey all..just a quick update. Jason's team (formerly La Flama Blanca) is currently under new ownership. Welcome Conor Gilligan to the league. Congrats to Conor on the opportunity to take over one of the friendliest inheritable teams in recent years. We have found another owner who will be taking over Jimmy's team (formerly Starting From the Bottom). We are looking to add one more owner who will be taking over Trevor's team (Shildt Happens). If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Ugh.... I hate that bronze trophy by my team name!!!! I'm in for next year and looking forward to the offseason arbitration and wheeling and dealing. I know some owners may be on their way out. Give it a second thought and reevaluate your team. I would hope most of you would stick around. Also hope we can find more good owners that will be in it for the long haul. If not, I volunteer to pick up a second team. I'm a fantasy junkie. Later fellas, Gregg
