it explains my current position in the standings. W2 won't trade me Hamels though.

I didn’t realize you have the entire Cubs starting rotation!
-
I'm somewhere in-between selling off and going for 4th place. If you want to make a salary dump, I have prospects to offer .If you need something and can take on salary, I'll take some cheap players as well. So yeah, make some offers!!!

I definitely prefer the allocation system over the vote-off......

You’ve got my vote. I ended up paying a CRAPLOAD to get my own prospects back the last two years. Sounds great!

Another more recent from Niv (https://community.ottoneu.com/t/ottoneu-arbitration-advice-from-the-community/2343/6) You can switch between systems, and I strongly endorse the allocations system.

From the creator of Ottoneu (Niv @ https://community.ottoneu.com/t/questions-about-the-vote-off-system/1422/8). Vote-off is the system we launched with, that is what we came up with in the 5 years before Ottoneu became a service. Allocations were a community invention, and I think its a significant improvement over the vote-off system. It’s also much more in the spirit of the market-based economy of the game.

All, re: the offseason process (looking ahead!), take a look at the arbitration options here under (d) - https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/rules#offseason
Basically, with allocations, you can add $ to players salaries - whereas with the vote-off, you vote for a player to be removed from the team (goes back to auction pool)
To be entirely honest, I'm still a little sore from losing my $6 Aaron Judge last offseason after picking him up for $1 in 2015 and holding for multiple years!

Hello all - I was wondering if for the upcoming season the group would consider switching to the allocation system vs. the vote-off? I really hate the vote-off personally, and think the allocation is more fair. It's what we use in the other league I play in and works well. Just figured I'd throw it out there sooner vs. later.

prospects available for ace pitchers and some salary relief, Corey Seager should be mighty enticing for next year.

I couldn't believe Swanson was available. I thought when you started an auction you automatically submitted a bid, and I thought I entered one manually as well - I would definitely not have beaten Pinochle's though.

He has like 15’ to cover and he has to trot out a HR 1-2 times per week. I’m with the Yankees brass!
-
...you had your chance to trade him to me. Anyway, some random Yankee executive agrees with you on Bird (at least back in July) http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2017/07/07/yankees-brass-criticizes-greg-bird-for-being-injured/

Will someone explain to Greg Bird that he’s a frickin’ first baseman and missing two seasons with ankle problems is not acceptable. He’ll Bill Buckner didn’t even use his legs. Jesus. So damn lame.
