Boyd is a cut but Teoscar for Soler & Chirinos seems even. Gambles on the 2-player side but Teoscar hits the ball hard, I’d lean that side but it’s close

I don't think the trade is that horrible just off the fact that none of those players are going to be that impactful, but Solar is definitely the best player of the 4.

Also forgetting that Soler has disappointed us one way or another for 5 straight years and only once managed as much as 101 games. And that Chirnos is almost old enough for Medicare and will probably need it. ...My God why did I agree to that deal?

I was, yes, but it seems like I was potentially undervaluing Hernandez. I still like Soler and Chirinos, especially given the prices and lack of depth at C, but it's probably not as lop-sided as I thought at first glance.

I agree those dollars on Harper and Altuve seem a waste. You want to allocate on players that the team will keep unless you are trying to push a player over the edge so they become a free agent so you can target them.

Unless we all think Harper's going to play half his games in Yankee Stadium next year, and if that's the case then... $70 may not be enough lol

That's fair, and I agree it's complicated. Just wanted to point it out, because the easier and more beneficial we make it for Shark to cut Harper, the easier we make it for him to keep more of that roster (Sale, Turner, Boegarts). Sorry, Shark!

Certainly kosher, but Shark Sandwich left us all in a pickle about how to allocate. Because Shark had accumulated an incredible $760 salary. Just look at that all star roster and tell me who most needs allocation. Somebody felt Harper need to be at a round number, somebody else gave Altuve $1 to bring him to $50. I decided it wasn't worthwhile to allocate to this team because half the players would end up on another team or free agents by Jan 31, so I allocated the minimum $1 to Justin Turne

Is it kosher to comment on others' arbitration allocations? For example, I have to imagine there's a better use for those $2 than getting Harper to $70...
