I don't think the two trades were remotely similar, for whatever that's worth. Acuna is a stud, a future $40-50 monster of a player at $5. I gave up this year's leading ottoneu points scorer for him in the offseason. Acuna for Harper would've made sense, but I wasn't contacted about Harper moving. Seager will score no points this year, be $28 next year, and be coming off TJ. The other 2 guys very well may be cuts. It's just very little keeper surplus value for a monstrous package of talent.

He had 18 steals in about 100 games last year, and was a top-12 prospect about a year ago. Zimmer, like Albies, like Tim Anderson, will be fine - fantasy tends to move past people pretty quickly. Same with Seager - my team has had a ton of surplus for years, and each year it's Seager that has been arbed for a reason. Lando can wait for him to come back, fulfill his sizeable potential at a premium position. And if you think Holland isn't closing this year, I'll happily bet you actual $ ur wrong.

Nobody else seems to want to argue with you, but I'm happy to. So far you've addressed 44 of your historical trades, Phamily's trade (which you say is bad), and several other teams/strategies - but have yet to provide a reasonable argument of how Harper/Kimbrel/Semien for Seager (who will be $28 after returning from TJ), Holland (non-closer), and Zimmer (4 stolen base "steals machine") is fair value. Also, last point: valuations tend to be league-specific. Tux was the best team in all of Ottoneu last year - that really drove down the price of seasoned talent, and drove up the value of prospects, because no one could compete with him. Steals are valuable in our league now, cuz Cruz hoards it. I was really reticent to give up Zimmer, who could be
a steals machine, for that reason. Every trade happens for a reason.

Ok, maybe I went too far - I apologize (I think the Cosby line was farther though?). Personally, I thought 2 top-10 picks for Acuna was a fairly bad trade, but I really don't care one way or the other - so long as no collusion, these things happen. I bought Seager for Trout 2 years ago, when Seager was in Acuna's shoes, and I felt strongly it was worth it, even though people thought I undersold (BUT! Was best offer I got). Valuations are personal, and rebuilding, and competing is hard.

I'm talking about 1 specific trade, and I'm not even blaming you for it - someone else has to be dumb enough to accept it. You can defend it all you want, doesn't mean its not true. My point is, if you expected to complete in your second year, when Wock (now Philly) was out there and making great deals, and Tux, and Cruz building up, and Ruffnecks constantly making good deals, and me working for years just to get in the pack, and others still finding their formula, I'm not surprised you find yourself quitting after 18 months.

This is my third year in the league, and I joined with the intention of this being my year. I've had people belly-ache at me at over a dozen trades. I had people complain I ripped someone off when I traded away Freeman for Gallo. After cutting Gallo and picking him up again at auction, i had people complain i ripped someone off for selling Gallo to pick up Lamb. I've made 45-plus trades in 3 years, and so far it has netted me a competitive 4th place in the year I wanted to compete.

These last few trades have completely ruined the competitive balance of the league, they're not even close to fair value. The rest of the league has virtually no chance to compete, and can't even rebuild unless we contribute to the imbalance by making the top teams even stronger because nobody else has any incentive to try and improve their teams. I joined this league to have fun, and there is nothing fun about this league right now - its just a waste of time, and I'd rather spend it elsewhere

Some teams perpetually rebuild due to trades like these, while others reap the rewards. It's just bad for the league as a whole.

I’ve been playing fantasy for a long time and that was probably the worst trade I’ve ever seen. It’s indefensible. Just absolutely terrible

Hey, Cruz missiles told me he had initially put in a claim on Cotton, but removed it when he saw he was going for an MRI... somehow he ended up with him anyway and then cut him a minute later. I'm going to remove the $1 cap penalty, but if anyone has an objection, feel free to voice it.
