I think that makes sense. Like if Manfred stabs Tony Clark in the eye with a pen we'll know it's going to be a while
-
Yeah LaCock, we could do that. March 12 if there is some resolution by then. March 29 if not?
-
Is it possible to make that a soft date and change if it turns into something more prolonged?
-
But I’m fine with whatever
-
Yeah, that’s fine. I’d like to know where some of these dudes are gunna play before we draft.
-
The problem with waiting is if this thing gets resolved and spring training compressed we will not have much time to set a draft date that works for everyone.
-
I would wait until the lockout plays out a little more. There’s so many FA. I’m not convinced MLB won’t be in a lockout through March.
-
How do you all feel about setting a draft date? Just throwing out a date to get the discussion started. How about Sunday, March 12 at 4 pm central time?
-
Great, thanks.

Keeper Fi, you do not need to get your salary below $400 before arbitration
-
Offseason question: Do I need to get my salary below $400 before arbitration begins?

Thanks. I thought you were going to catch me Future, but somehow I avoided my usual September fade this year.
-
Congrats on a great season Burrito, you really kicked our tails this year. We’ll done
-
Congrats Burrito! I thought I could make up a BIT of ground on you but your team just kept rolling. Nice win, didn't even need to hit your maxes!
-
Alright, season hasn’t gone too well with my team. Time to move some players and get younger to build for next season. I’m selling for solid keepers, prospects, and youth. Make some offers if you see interest.
-
Looking to move a couple starters for some outfielders, all pitchers available. Send some offers or let’s negotiate
-
Yea that one hurt a bit. Don't like to see that from your ace. At least I'm a sox fan haha
-
Trea, I can sympathize with Giolito's -44 today. Not quite as bad as the negative -45 out of Hendricks last night.
-
The FAQ subhead at the bottom of the page has a lot of information too
-
Yes, 162 limit for catcher. Designed that way because no catcher actually plays 162 games. You not need to roster two at a time.

I noticed there’s two catcher spots but also looks like there’s a season max of 162 games for that position. Is that correct?
Also, is there a place to read all the rules? I’ve had a hard time finding that.
-
That sucks, Bregman's.

Man I hate when that happens.
-
Wasn’t real happy about it, but learning the rules
-
Only way to get roster legal was to drop someone over $10
-
I tried to trade him, but my roster was illegal and wouldn’t let me trade
-
Only during the season are waiver claims determined by standings. If more than one team makes a claim during the offseason, winner is determined by a "coin flip" which is done not at the league level, but at Ottoneu High Command where they apparently have a 5 sided coin. One other comment--maybe it would be a good idea to try to trade a player that draws that much interest before just cutting him . . . unless you're really pissed at him or something I guess.
-
Well, that sucked. Glad I did not go ahead and cut someone in advance of the waiver claim.

How did I lose the waiver claim? Is waiver priority tied to start the season? I thought finishing last carried the waiver privilege?

Looking to move Ramirez-Bogaerts-Hader before opening day. Let's make a deal
-
I have some pretty good minor league players on the trade block, and some decent ones. OF and MI are biggest focus, RP and SP next.

Cuts made. Thanks all, and happy draft prep!
-
The cuts are fine with me!
-
I’m ok with these. Welcome aboard Bergman

Fine by me.

Let him make his cuts. 1) New to Otto 2) Took team only a week before cut deadline. I don't understand how there could be any issue with this. It's the right thing to do and completely within the commissioner's power.
-
Drop:
Brent HoneyWell
Clarke Schmidt
Patrick Sandoval
Logan Webb
Josiah Gray
Jazz Chisholm
That should give me $33 available & 22 roster spots
Sorry. I didn’t know the rules.
-
I think Puig's is a fair point - let's add 'having the list of proposed cuts submitted to the league for review before being executed' be part of the proposal
-
Yeah I’m fine with that
-
I’m fine with it. We need the dues!
-
Thanks for running this by us. I agree it’s in the league’s best interests to permit him to make additional cuts, however it does give me pause as it could be an unfair advantage and also sets a bad precedent. I propose that Bergman’s cuts be submitted to all league members for approval before they are executed. So long as a player hasn’t had adverse “new news” since the cut deadline, I personally wouldn’t veto the cut. Perhaps approval should be required by more than a simple majority.
-
right. But since this is beyond the hard and fast rules, I would like to give you all a day or two to present a convincing counter-argument before I permit the extra round of cuts. That is to say, please let me know if there are any objections. Thanks
