Magic is the only logical explanation.
-
I am so confused... How did I get in this league? I wasn't in this morning nor have I paid for anything.
-
If it was a bit different situation. I'd feel like cancelling the trades could be punishing a team that had nothing to do with it. But Im glad they are cleared. It's as if it all didn't happen. Haha.

Boise just wants $9 Kluber. :P. If everyone agrees, which i think we are, just scrap the trades. Seems like we already have 4 new owners anyhow.

I think it would be unfair to the new owners to leave the trades. Cancelling them gives the new owners freedom to do what they want with their team.
-
As much I would like to have Kluber for $9, I think cancelling the three trades is the way to go. Boise, Orlando, your thoughts...
-
I'd just cancel them and not worry about the vetos. This guy had five teams claimed in the last two weeks in one of my leagues.
-
I selected 4 owners from the "Available Owners" list that ottoneu has. I've randomly asigned them to each of the 4 teams in need of a manager. I need the confirmation from these new owners that they actually want to take over those teams (the available owners page may not be updated and they probably already own a team in another league).
Regarding the pending trades, all three trades involve a manager that is no longer playing. I can cancel all three trades or let the Veto take care o

I typically only veto if I think there is collusion or an owner just making a move to screw everyone else. It seems clear to me from Mr. Dog that he genuinely prefers what he is getting. That's fine with me whether I would have done it or not.
-
If 5 or 6 other owners see this as fine I'd be happy to accept it.
-
I agree. Changing league salaries to balance a trade is a very very bad precedent to set. I'll accept whatever the veto vote decides.
-
If it goes through it goes through, but changing salary on other players just complicates things.

I appreciate the offer, but dont think changing $$$ is necessary. I oppose the trade but if the league feels otherwise i will be adhere to that decision.

Semien to $14 or Ellsbury to $19? Please vote
-
OK. I want to move on and I see 3 angry managers. If we wait two days the trade will hardly get vetoed as you need 7 managers on board. If its about dollars I sugget the following (and this should not become a common practice). As commissioner I can manually change things (the whole league gets notified when doing so). I can bump up Kluber's salary to $16 and add $7 to Dog's cap room (I can only change player's salaries so we would need to agree on lowering someone's salary. Too messy?
-
Fortunately he already has arrieta
-
Yeah arrieta at $5 but the difference is small.
-
Arrieta $5
-
I think you could basically ask for any player in the whole league. I don't know if there's a more valuable player than Kluber.
-
i had $59 before the trade with my rotation looking like this: Felix, JFer, Strasburg, Cueto, Odorizzi, do you think I was targeting a SP during the draft? I'm targeting 10 players of $3-$5 and my team is good to win this year
-
And you vetoed the pineda trade, so there you go. The tulo one is different because prospects are largely unknown commodities. All we have is other peoples opinions on them an minor league stats, theyre difficult to value with any precision.
-
No they dont need to be equal. If someone is not high on another player i.e. Pineda. Often players will target a cut in order to stick him on another roster and make them eat his salary. Gives Boise $6 less in auction when (I can't remember the other owner) doesn't want him.

Have you looked at the Free Agents available in the auction??? Its pretty much Crap. He may have extra cap space and an extra slot, but there's no stars out there to be had... Donkeys gained some cap room and a slot... I gained 2 Pitchers that in this league, will help me get from 3rd place to 1st... THAT's why I did the deal.... To WIN! Send me an instant message with your counter offers, and we'll see who offers a better trade.
-
Do all trades need to be equal in surplus or whats the norm? What was the surplus analysis on the Tulo trade? At least negative $20, same with the Pineda trade.
-
According to ghe calculator theres a 59 combined value of felix and chen to kulbers 47, for a difference of $12. But in our league theres a combined value of 43 for felix and chen vs. 9 to kluber, for a difference of 34. 34-12=22. So thats $22 in surplus value that donkeys just pocketed, not to mention adding an extra roster slot.
-
So by your calculator you get the better pitcher and 30$ to spend on another top tier player??
-
C'mon Boise, you traded Felix to me for Familia and Ian Desmond and you consider Felix a cut. Familia is ranked as high as #5 closer and Desmond will most likely land with the Whitesox and at least produce as a #10 SS

If you dont want him thats fine. If you had put Kluber on the block you probably could have gotten quite a few offers for him. But were talking trade rape here. This would be totally different in a redraft league.

From auction calculator with the correct settings: Kluber $47, Felix $41 and Chen $18. How is this a veto. Dollar dog is improving his team! The Pineda trade is $25 value vs $1 (Franklin is actually negative value)
-
Okay - here's the deal.... If this trade is vetoed, then I put it out to all clubs I will put Kluber up for the best offer.... fair???
-
I didnt care for the pineda trade, but i let it through because pineda has yet to prove he is great over an entire season. Hes given us tastes, but had his ups and downs. Kluber is an established ace and one of the best pitchers in the game. Costing $9 is an insane bargain.
-
There we're a couple which I didn't think were fair but I hate using vetoes, its basically a nuclear option. In my opinion this trade crossed that line.
-
In your opinion which trades were bullshit?

You people allowed such bullshit trades to happen, but are willing to veto my trade in which I approved... Its WORTH it to me... Isn't that what counts... Its not an unfair trade like the others that were allowed here... If this gets Vetoed, then I know this league is messed up.
-
Maybe im using it wrong, but the fantasy pros link had kluber ranked one spot behind felix and the other had him worth a couple dollars more. Theyre virtually equal in skill, but not close on $$$. Im opposed to the veto on principle, but this was too one sided.
-
Dollar Dog Day Afternoon's trade block has been updated!

I will rarely ever veto a trade. I didn't even Veto the pineda trade earlier. However, that is very much a veto worthy trade.

Consensus from 8 experts, there is one that ranks Felix as high as #18

And 2016 only:

And that is before a large number of owners cut him before Jan 31st. You'll see that number come down to about $35, but thats still almost $5-$10 most people feel he could be worth this year.
