I joined last season between cut deadline and the draft and I got one penalty-free round of cuts. I think it's the default option, but a commissioner can turn it off.
-
Give me Lindor and you can do whatever you guys want lmao

What do you guys think we should do for OPS?...I certainly hesitate to start cutting players the way I see fit. We could crowd-source it, but I'm still afraid of all our biases playing a part. Ideally, we wait for his replacement and give him two days or so to cut players at no cost (it is a commissioner option), but to be honest, I don't have full confidence in all the commissioner tools working as expected based on past experience. Any thoughts?
-
Yeah doesn't look good for OPS, some promising players but needs to make the right cuts so its not screwed if needing a new owner
-
Will OPS be getting abandoned, also?
-
A couple teams make crazy offers constantly....but most are pretty good. It's just the time of year right now .

I totally get it, this is actually my second ottoneu team so I know all about the strategy. Just happy to see the high level of engagement here and pumped to be a part of the league!
-
I've been equally impressed and responded in kind, but yeah that's part of the game right
-
Ha! Part of it is that you joined at a moment when everyone's strategies ahead of the keeper deadline were already set, so people are likely only going to change course if blown away. Or maybe we're all super aggro, who knows. Anyway, welcome to the league.

I say the most important thing about setting a draft date and time is to pick one where the commish actually shows up this season to start it.
-
definitive yet, until we see if we can get a day and time for everyone i should say
-
yep we don't need to be definitive on the draft, I'm sure we'll get a time for everyone, i will do any fri sat (any time) and can do two sundays in march 12th and 26th

Young, high-ceiling guys don't always work out. Read John Rocker's blog. He'll tell you all about it.
-
Yes, I hate when you offer me guys that are cuts for my young, high-ceiling guys. You never offer it the other way around.
But, for me, either of those other weekend would work.
-
Yes, 2/20 and 3/5 work out much better, but since I'm ruining my team, I doubt it will make much of a difference if I am at the draft.
-
Lastly, King Kong - I'd like to accommodate you with the draft time, if possible. So reading between the lines, it sounds like 2/20 or 3/5 would work better for you?
I'll open it up to the floor to get a pulse for what you all think about switching the date, and would be happy to do so, but if it creates more conflicts than it solves, I hope you understand if we stick with the current date..
-
You never know about younger players like Sano. He can turn out to be the next Miguel Cabrera or the next Sam Horn. I'm pretty sure its going to be closer to Cabrera, but King Felix had a "DOWN" year in 2015, and he still finished with 890 points. You can still pencil him in for 1000 points in a season, and I'm willing to pay for that.
-
It's pretty hard to deny that King Kong Kang got the two best present value baseball players in this deal. I got the sexiest name and perhaps the guy with the most potential (if you see Sano as a Hall of Famer like the other guy in this trade). He had more than enough cap room to absorb players that are signed at value. Then again, apparently he could have had Happ and Eovaldi instead LOL. I'm sure King Kong will have tears in his beer when he watches Felix throw 8 strong every 5 days
