I believe those are all now just Free Agents to be bid on during the next draft. Not sure about what the Keeper Deadline is though. I'm assuming that's just the we have until we can drop players at zero cost.
-
When are we permitted to bid on the now-available arb players? Will it all be within a general draft, or will a waiver period open at some point? I must admit to frustration with the ottoneu description of rules - they really don't explain any detail of how things function (e.g., I still have no idea why my arb votes didn't count)

Oh I agree. There are a lot of holes in that swing.

I'd also like to point out that I think WAR is an overrated stat when people want to call Heyward an elite RFer. I'm sorry, but elite RFer's don't slug .384.
-
I think long term it might be a negative as we had Shelby under salary control for a few more years. But after looking at the WAR and the points Heyward and Miller had last year, it doesn't look too bad short term. It actually looks like we came out ahead for the next year. I do think Miller is going to get better though. And he looked pretty good down the stretch last year.

Despite my comments below I kind of agree with Medina (I always thought Heyward was overrated) but I see what the Cards were doing at least. Hard to argue with Mo's overall success.
-
Not a big fan because I don't think the Cardinals have any interest in extending Heyward, so they essentially just traded Shelby for Walden and whatever draft pick they manage to get when Heyward signs elsewhere. Seems like they could have packaged Miller for something better. At the same time, I think Heyward is overrated, so I'll be fine that they won't lock him up long term.
-
On its face it takes care of the RF situation, gives us a power lefty, and Walden is a good reliever. We have a dearth of SPs so as far as I can see its trading from a position of strength to bolster the offense which we always seem to need more of. Hard to say how good Shelby/Jenkins will be though...
-
What do you guys think of the Shelby Miller trade?

Well if you guys have people lined up, then I'm not going to pursue anybody.
-
Well from what I can see the only teams that might be replaced are Freak Nasty and Regressed (I looked last night and couldn't find a team move either of those guys made past June...). Also Mxy and I both have people to fill those spots so not really sure we need any more unless someone doesnt want to pay (Go Nads? Really need you to speak up here...). As far as which team they get I'd say let them pick themselves and if they pick the same team coin flip - what else can you really do?
-
I'm cool with NYE as well. I'll start looking for anybody that might take one of the teams too. Say we do find somebody, how do we decide which team they get?
-
I'm returning.

Actually GO Nads voted. Looks like not everyone voted someone off every team or something. Also for whoever asked tie-break in arbitration is lowest voting team in the standings. In other news the player voted off my team has been changed from Kershaw to Puig and both players show as having been voted off on my team page... so theres that....
-
From what I can see its: Bluth, Medina, Alton, B&S, Bucs, Grids, Mxyztplk, Shooting Ropes, and myself. Thats 9 which makes sense as we had 8 participate in voting and Grids didn't submit or something. Me and Bacon know Freak Nasty so I guess we could reach out to him. That leaves Regressed and GO Nads. Anyone know those guys?
-
I'm in this league for as long as it exists. January 1 should be plenty of time to figure out if you are in or not. I'd like to see how the vote-off turns out before we get rid of it next year. There's a lot of great players now on the market who can make a difference.
-
My arbitration votes didn't count somehow. I have no idea why.
-
I'm in for next year.
-
New Years is fine with me and I am always up for a trade.
-
New Years should be more than enough time if people are paying attention.
-
Along those lines, does anybody want to start trading?

What we can do is set a date and if someone hasn't responded as coming back, I can mark them as abandoned. How does New Year Day sound as a deadline?

Shooting Ropes's trade block has been updated!
-
Also, does anyone know how they decided who was voted off when two players were tied?
-
I was thinking the same. It was a little concerning that only 2/3 voted. I'm in for next year and I think Alton needs to set a date for everyone to confirm their return.

Im in for next year also. 50 is fine. We should set a time frame if a person does not respond that they are in for next year we attempt to find new onwers. Ive got someone that is already interested and would be great in this league.
-
I'm in for next year! Also, think we should do the arbitration where we just add money to players instead of removing them.

Thought I'd point out that only 8 people participated in arbitration... I know I sound like a broken record but we really need to figure out if any teams need to be replaced next year asap... Need to give new owners as much time as possible to figure things out and be ready for the first draft - I'm not trying to get anyone in particular kicked out (seriously... if it needs to happen at all) but I'm all about 100% participation for the integrity of the league and know people who will make it so.
-
As much as we want to be able to do more I think we simply have to accept the reality that this year round game takes the winter off!
-
So, what happens between now and January 31?
-
Hes the MVP of my team! (or was...)
-
It looks like the MVP voters just took the WAR and went with that.

$50 is a good amount. Everybody should pay. Levy for Treasurer.
-
I'm down with both ideas
-
I concur gents - wanted to bring up money for next year so we could figure it out in advance of next season. Obviously the questions are how much (I vote for $50); and will throwing money into the pool be mandatory for all teams (I vote for that too)? LGB will vouch for my integrity as league treasurer (Bacon doesn't count bc we know each other)!
-
Seriously. Hell, just the 14th seems like it can't get here fast enough either.
