Oh man, Bassitt tried to kill me by giving up four home runs in one game.
Then, I put Kopech in my other league the following day...he gives up 5 home runs, 4 in one inning. Wow. Sure takes the pressure off.

Yeah that is funny. I can only assume the difference is in drafting prospects and having a crazy deep pool of cheap restricted players versus us who bid on them the same as any free agent and only have 40 man rosters. A salary cap also helps reign us in. I do love how closely ottoneu seems to mimic the MLB tho.

I was thinking of the contract the Cardinals just gave to Mikolas. Here they are paying him like he's a top 30 SP in the league and here he is a $1 player in our league and a $4 player on average.

Only 4 more than 10 years! Gotta be pretty rough to be honest. The bottom half of teams don't have near the budget, they are trying to beat 29 other guys, and winning it all is the only acceptable outcome. If you get hired as the Marlins GM you have like a 1% chance of winning based on your budget constraints, ownership changes, etc. Having said that I'm sure we could do almost as good if given the chance with the resources at their back and the fact that if you ain't first, you're last! haha

Well if you think about it they are in a league that is more than twice as deep as ours and don't get 10 years to build and figure out how to win before they'll get fired. They either win within a few years of getting hired or they gone. They aren't worried about a contract 10 years down the line how many GMs actually stick around that long? The OGs in this league have been here more than the majority of real world GMs, lol.
