There are two catcher spots but still a 162 game limit. So starting two cathers isn't necessary but something you can do off and on to get yourself to 162 games played

Fun draft guys. Thanks everyone. So, looking at the roster, are we starting two catchers at a time then??

I will begin around 4:30. If you are listed online, I will assume you are ready to go.

Whoa, that's a big change, thanks for pointing that out. Don't think I like that change
-
Also, there is a middle infield spot but not corner infield spot. This is due to most owners using a 1/3 guy at UTL

Original rules required two catchers but now just one spot.

and you may end up with an $80 salvador Perez. They may have fixed this, but just a heads up

Also, one last tip: If you want to bid an amount that is much greater than the current bid, type the amount you want to bid, not the amount you want to raise it by. It's possible the price gets raised a lot by the time you're done typing
-
You also have two starting catcher spots, but can only start 162 games worth of catchers total. Every other position, you can start up to 162 games. Pitching is capped as well
-
You need a 2B, SS, AND a middle infielder
-
Also, take advantage of the watch list. Will be VERY helpful!

Everyone needs to go over the roster rules again, btw

But just to be safe, mark your drafted guy and double check during each break we take

Another BIG thing is that its VERY IMPORTANT for every owner to take note of who they draft and for how much. The system will sometimes miss a player(maybe two or three per draft)

Honestly my best advice is to stick to your values. Don't overpay due to "position scarcity" or anything. Just trust your values.

I am ready to go but nervous for how it will go! Never done and auction before. Always just regular draft!
-
The plan is to run the draft for 3 hours and then evaluate from there

Not one for Ottoneu. Would be best to just look at other leagues draft history. Lot of guesswork and individual projections for Ottoneu

ANyone know of a good mock draft site? I thought Fangraphs had one for Ottoneu but I couldn't find it.

I would suggest we try to draft as quickly as possible to get this thing done, but everyone should atleast play for roughly 6 hours or atleast breaking this up into multiple nights

Just a heads up. We began our draft for my other first year ottoneu league and the first 120 players took roughly 3 hours to do.

Hey guys. Ben Ferraro w/ the Albany Polecats here. Sunday Feb 16th at 4 CT should work for me.
-
I won't know my work schedule until that Friday but I'll do my best. Sunday night sounds better anyway.
-
I may be a little late, I don't get off till 3:30 so I may be cutting it close
-
Sounds good

Gives everyone a good break to reevaluate rosters and strategies and such. But whatever is decided works good for me!
-
It's still a possibility to start Friday evening, only go about 3 hours, then resume on Saturday or Sunday.
-
I'd be alright with attempting a 5 hour marathon draft, but I do have some concerns with the start time. At 5 PM ET on a Friday, it looks like my options are take off work early, or miss the first 25 to 40 players auctioned.
-
I could do the five hour draft again. It's a lot of fun
-
That would be awesome. I'm willing to block off 5 hours to get it done. Did you guys take any breaks during?
-
My Ottoneu League last year did the draft in 5 hours. It's a haul but we can look at the blind bid.
