well so much for a long running properly functioning league. self serving people always ruin everything.

I presume you've heard of R.E.M, if not google them. Appropriate Lyric: "It's the End of The World As We Know It, and I feel fine!"

All else aside, what the hell are you talking about eno? You have next to no injuries and none of your significant players are or have been injured

but that is your right to do so. It is just unfortunate because by doing something normal but in a really silly way you are likely going to make the league disfunctional
-
eno, do not be so dense, it isnt that your team is horrible and that you shouldn't be off loading your players, but when you give away your players for far below market value and additionally agree to pay for them you offset the balance of the league.
-
do some of you understand keeper leagues? after many of my players got hurt what good is a $40 felix hernandez to me?
-
i should not have canceled that trade, but honestly i was hoping it would prevent the league from becoming a bickering mess. but that point has likely passed. I will not interject any further despite the obvious in balance of the trades.
-
to be honest I think it's too late. Eno is clearly bent on giving away his best players for far below market value, while also paying for the player for the rest of the season.
-
Calgon I don't know how so much about my objectives for whatever trade I may or may not make. Your making unwarranted and unsolicited assumptions. And just to set the record straight I will ALWAYS play to win the league!

We'll know in TIME, which is the x-factor in all trades. It appears Anal-Partner is playing for long-term keeps, so we shouldn't have to worry about vacancy in his slot for 2015.
-
And the fact that this trade is occurring right after he last one indicates he is just in sale mode. With that, this is obviously way closer than the last trade, so it's just a question of whether this is a legitimate return for Felix. It probably is

My thoughts: I am leaning toward accepting this trade though I don't think it's open and shut. Eno, by agreeing to the last trade, has welcomed scrutiny for all he does. He is basically the Jeff loria of the league.

This is Fantasy Congress League!
-
if the 2nd felix trade is vetoed this isn't a real keeper league
-
addendum: "vetoed" with "cancelled" by the commissioner for strong reasons of protecting the league, not his personal competitive interest for which I appreciate and what you want in a Commissioner.
-
It was about the net return: you could flip those individuals for another entire package similar to Baby Bears. In regards to Baby Bears trade, judging a trade based on one's position in the standings is equally destructive as the previous vetoed trade.
-
Spinners, Spinners, n slanders: The trade with $100 transfer, including Felix Hernandez, Strasburg, and Jason Kipnis for George Springer was not about your chances of overtaking whoever would be in first place.
-
Just to add another data point, I think both trades should have been allowed.
-
And on your final point (and this will be mine also) I agree with you wholeheartedly!

Just to be clear I am not opposed to your trade with Eno. I will vote according to the potential impact it will have on my chances to win the league as will the other owners. We make acquisitions, trades and waiver pick-ups to try to improve our chances

One final point and I am done. Obviously I am biased but I think the current deal is fair, but if the league vetoes the trade then so be it and I will carry on as always.
-
Agreed to when we signed into the league.

Splitters I agree that the previous trade should not have been cancelled by the commish and the veto vote should have gone through as it was intended.
-
I think three top 25 overall talents for one lottery ticket is much worse than one top 25 talent for three lottery tickets.
-
In regard to the previous trade. But the commissioner is setting a precedent by abolishing the previous deal and not allowing the trade to be voted on because of the potential of unintentional abstention. Let the process work by the rules that we all

And as for there being no guarantees after a trade has been made, I agree. Of course you don't seem to actually believe that considering you think this trade eliminates anyone else from competing for the pennant.
-
You can't be serious that there is no difference between the trades. The first was three studs for one great young OF, and this one is one ace for three SP prospects.
-
This is not my first Ottonue rodeo. And there is absolutely no difference between either trade. There are no guarantees what happens after a trade has been made. And there is no difference in my opinion of this trade and the opinion others expressed to

anti competitive or if you just have a personal reaction to your chances to win the league being reduced. A trade like this pending one happens in every other Ottoneu league I have been a part of, and it is NOT against the spirit of this league.
-
Is this everyone's first year playing Ottoneu? Or playing in dynasty leagues in general? The fact that my team is in first place should have NO bearing on the merits of this trade, and if it does then you need to reevaluate whether this trade is ACTUALLY
-
and keeping the league fair and balanced in the sense of a level playing field is the most important thing to me. if we do not do that then this league will fold quickly.
-
i am not trying to dictate the league to the point of guiding trades or deciding fair or not, but there is a limit where having a bad team and just wanting to off every high priced player on your team can hurt the competitive balance of the league
-
but to give them the top half of your roster and then pay their entire salary this year is just ludicrous. I canceled the first trade because i was worried enough people did not see the trade or would abstain un-intentionally.
-
look i don't know what the deal is but i personally find all of these trades grossly off the intended purpose of this league. i am all for lopsided trades when it is within reason, i have no problem with someone giving an arm and a leg for george springer
-
Keg, this trade will essentially take you out of the running for the pennant as well as the rest of the league.Think about it??? You are the closest.

It's all relative if you take the time and reflect as opposed to your initial reaction to the POTENTIAL impact of the the trade between Eno and Splitters

Keg I respect your opinion but it was two ace starters and a 2nd baseman fresh off of the DL. AND I have six teams in front of my team to get past as opposed to the First place team getting a premier starter for one top prospect and two good prospects.

I still haven't decided what my thoughts are on this trade but this one is FAR more reasonable than the one you did. That was three ace starters for one top prospect with one month of baseball. This is trading 1 ace for three top prospects

It's been canceled. If eno or splitters wants to talk to me about this please do. But I have heard from neither of you thus far.
-
That's why I stated "in any case", I'm not 100% on the economics of the trade. It seems feasible; the transfer of imminent free cash to the other party. At any rate, it's all bad.
-
Yeah cancel the trade. Aside from just how ridiculous it is, it would also require a ton of players to be dropped because of the cost which would have adverse effects

Essentially those not in favor of this trade proceeding would require 7/10 veto votes. I see the concern, could be the possibilities of abstains. In any case, this abysmal trade would cause an upheaval and utterly destroy the league on all levels.
-
group vote, should i let this trade be veto'd and hope that enough veto'd or use commisioner power to end the trade. I dont want to overstep boundaries with my control, but this needs tending to
