honestly I agree with you keg, but it is in the rules, and i have read about how hard it was to apply the hard cap. I guess tip your hat to ubaldo for reading the rules

Look on the bright side, at least no one feels screwed out of first place.

There was plenty of discussion at season's end last year and the difficulties of actually instituting the hard cap. Niv is aware that it's a point of concern.

Well peachy. If I had known about this, I could have started another starter and reliever or two on my last day with innings and would have come in second. Dumb rule. If we have an innings limit, we should actually have an innings limit.

Niv did not say that, he would move ubaldo up or down just that he would remedy the situation. so I believe with the soft cap that you are correct. Dont worry ubaldo, eveything will be done according to the rules, my apologies for the false alarm

Well then that settles it. What niv told me was that every league would be corrected to within the rules, i mistakenly took that to mean that every got zeroed out to 1500, but i was not aware of the soft cap rules.

I have to agree with Night here, if Niv makes corrections it goes against the official rules and there was at least one article published on Fangraphs announcing and explaining the soft cap.
-
I played entirely within the rules as agreed upon at the beginning of the season.
-
If what you said about Niv is true, I'll protest. Check the league constitution: Article IV. b. iv. The innings maximum is a soft cap, meaning on the day a team goes over the 1500 IP limit, all the pitchers played that day will receive credit.
-
Spoke with Niv, he told me all leagues will be corrected after the completion of the season and prior to any payouts. The system allows overages, but then removes those points.

I'm about to come in third instead of second because Night on Ubaldo Mountain exceeded his innings limit by over 20. Does that strike anyone else as ridiculous?

Why is Jeter's Gift Baskets still getting pitching points despite being over the 1500 IP max?

Can I have Headley back please?

Worst pitching line ever? Street and Chapman: 0 IP, 4 H, 4 BB.

Interesting, all this time I have endured Headley's penalty salary.

the problem only arises when we rely on a veto system that implies everyone is paying attention, and interested enough to cast a vote. Which clearly is not the case, but lets just be positive and have fun.
-
I think things have simmered down a bit now. I blame myself for not keeping calm, but the point remains, this is an open forum on how to run a fictional team. If eno see's it that way then so be it. it is his choice.

If your done, I'm done, and try to get back to baseball.

You to preach to anyone. When it comes time to vote on a trade vote accordingly. But get off your righteous, pompous soapbox.

Calculon, you should take a step back. I was commenting on your unwarranted and unsolicited assumption that I was going to package the SP's I would have acquired into another trade. And if I did, so what. It's all within the rules. And who the hell are

I agree with Calculon, one of the benefits of ottoneu is the structure that should limit these issues. There is a veto process, let's just use it and see how the league votes. I am more disappointed that there were so many abstains.
-
If it happends again, this "I can't win, so I'll take the league down" routine, which I've seen before. Might I suggest a simple report to the higher ups, no more bickering, no more drama, simple.

Everyone, let's just calm down and stop all this bickering. It's unproductive. We are all guilty of it, including me, but let's just stop

To Eno: I'm confused by your statement of "seeing the light", I can't let it go. Sounds insulting, considering we thwarted the league from imploding and aided you in rebuilding for next year.
-
The cost would of been the LEAGUE. The BB trade does not destroy the league. Extreme case vs typical case. All in all, I give BB credit for his hitting draft, it's one of them "years". Course injuries do occur and it's part of the game.
-
Spitters: I'm afraid I missed a statement in all this drama "Play to win" ? Who here doesn't play to win? Assuming we all play to lose? Good thing your not commish, because there's a fine line between playing to win and playing to win at all costs.
-
I strongly disagree with the way the trades are occurring. if it were me i would say that there is a $15 cap on any trade. But you are right, it is the rules and i have blown it out of proportion.

King Felix is healthy and doesn't succumb to TJ surgery. We all have our work cut out for us to vie for the pennant but it was all done within the parameters of the league rules.

Bantasy, with all due respect, all of the league participants had a vote for yay or nay as their opinion whether the trade was equitable or not. Is was allowed, so be it! I don't believe anything was ruined but it certainly helps BB's as long as
