Sale is also a weirdo
-
When a guy keeps getting injured and missing time, I don't see how you can expect him to come to back to elite form, even for the non-elbow injuries. I hope Sale proves me wrong next season. He's also well into aging curve territory, even if he's only 33.
-
Interesting that Tokki thinks Sale is broken…but is rostering Stras. Personally I’d bet on Sale over Stras (although Stras is probably a much nicer guy to have around the clubhouse).

He’s still younger than I thought—for some reason I thought he was 36 or 37. I’d take a flyer on him (plenty of room for him on the bus with Glasgow and Soroka) but I doubt I’d move anyone Pie might be interested in.

Yeah, sure, I’d take the under too, but Im guessing we’d all take the over on $10, making him a valuable contract with big upside. It’s fine, I’ll just keep him.
-
Sale hasn't been worth $30 since 2018. He definitely has a chance at being worth that or more next year, but I'll take the under.
-
I think he meant from a red sox fan perspectuve/context; its always something with Sale. Over -Under innings next year ,I'll set the line at 120.5 ( and that's generous).
-
He’s broken because a comebacker broke his pinky? Uh, ok
-
I'm completely screwed if the Dodgers go into a team slump
-
I hate to say it, but Chris Sale is broken.
-
This is gonna be fun…
-
A $10 Chris Sale has a good chance at being a $30 value next season, and I’m selling him to the highest bidder, along with one of the game’s top-5 prospects, If any of you are willing to trade with me to massively increase your future odds
-
Agreed wow

Would they really trade to an NL east team though ? Fans would be way pissed every time he came into town
-
their is really a rags to riches situation with organizations depth and quality of talent , a few teams have stuck out for decades , st louis, tb, atlanta, dodgers its pretty amazing . conversely teams like the Cubs ( who had a mini run of two years with bring up impact prospects ) seem to just be deficient. Having " nice little players " like Nico Hoerner help your roster, but leave you looking up in the standings at a team like St Louis
-
Last night Tampa came up as an organization with the young talent needed. I don’t see them being willing to spend that much. Seattle is also being mentioned. At this point it’s starting to look like either Soto or Rizzo is going.
-
Hopefully its not as bad as when Miami traded Stanton , yellich, ozuna for pennies on the dollar
-
The talk tonight is that there’s no way for the Nationals to win this trade. There’s comparisons to the Miggy trade from the Marlins. They’re saying the Cardinals appear to be the best fit, but that the Dodgers seem the most likely.
-
Like the famous herschal Walter trade in football
-
Yeah, the local guys are saying they'd have to get 5 prospects
-
It was aimed at you and not wanting to suck for 5 years, but I suspect Rizzo will look for a more prospect-heavy return than these early MLB guys.

I would think that might get it done, maybe with a little tweak
-
(It doesn’t seem like enough to me. I’d want someone better than Carlson or Walker to headline the return for Soto. Maybe Fred will be okay.)

Kumar Rocker! Let’s see, how to make Fred ill: Mikey says he wants 5 guys back, so… Carlson/Walker/Liberatore/Gorman/Yepez? Maybe an upside SP prospect instead of Gorman or Yepez? Would that be enough?

Texas seems all in but not much to give
-
Braves would have to.include Vaughn grissom too. I would get ill if he ended up.a cardinal
-
Though I think Rizzo could be here
-
Speculation is they’ll have to get five players back
-
No on all accounts
-
Mikey, if Rizzo and the Lerners plan to be around for those future games with the Mets, you might be right. You think that’s the plan?

Braves send Ozuna, Harris, and Tucker Davidson for Soto. Who says no?
-
I’d add the Mariners to my list too but I imagine that would be like me trying to make a deal with Charles: “you’re not getting him unless JRod is coming back.” And the Ms being just like Charles responding to me: “Hah. No.”

I personally would rather spend the next five years sucking than have to watch him on the Mets
-
I’d really be surprised if they traded him to the Mets only to see him come back here for the next decade plus with all the annoying Mets fans that always flood this stadium.
-
I think the Red Sox are unlikely (but would be happy to be wrong). I’m not sure they’ve got the pieces that would interest the Nats, and maybe the Sale (man, I almost feel sorry for that guy) trade left a bad taste for this kind of deal. Maybe if the Nats had a useful SP to throw in….

Giants, Jays, Cardinals? Besides the Mets and the Braves they’d seem likely to benefit the most and have guys the Nats might at least consider. Doesn’t seem like the Cardinals’ (or Braves’) style though. The advantage the Mets and Dodgers have is they could eat Stras or Corbin too. I could see the Dodgers getting involved if they’re worried Soto might be a Giant or Padre.

That would suck
-
Someone on Twitter said Mets based on the need and the farm system depth. That would really suck.
-
Mikey ,its too easy just to say Dodgers and or Yankees . I ruled them.out as they are both already stacked and near in over luxury tax . peter gammons pretty much for 30 years says on every high priced free agent Boston, nyy, and lad have shown interest
-
Dodgers?
-
If Soto does get traded between know and July 31, I believe it will be to the Red Sox . They are in WC contention and have the farm system pieces and funds . Anyone else have a logical destination ?
-
Works out well for m though Pat, as Cease will be well rested and can start on Friday or Saturday
-
Yeah, they should just take the top 9 guys in otto points. Blackburn is a joke—he’s basically the same as Kluber this year—but the OAK fans (if any) have to have their representative.
