Today was perfect baseball weather (75 and sunny with a slight Breeze). I'd have been bummed if Doolittle had blown that game.
-
This sounds fun, especially for JOE https://www.chicagotribune.com/travel/ct-trav-kentucky-bourbon-trail-bikes-0428-story.html

From Brooks, in 2019 Doolittle has thrown 299 fastballs, 18 sliders, and 8 changeups. That doesnโt include today. So 92% fastballs. 27 in a row seems a lot but possible. His velo looks fine, at least average.

According to MLB's game day app, Doolittle just finished up his ugly near blown save w/ 27 consecutive four-seam fastballs. Could that possibly be correct? Is he normally that reliant on one pitch? Not like he has even above average velo.

Kris Beyant will be 1B eligible soon, Rizzo out again tonight
-
HR Riley last night
-
Rockies expected to call-up Rodgers tomorrow.
-
A 65 point outing from Maeda last night. He and Cain really should be helping a contender.
-
In Salt Lake I would also recommend Desert's Edge Brewpub (pub grub) and/or Fischer Brewing (good beer, food truck, owned by a friend of mine).
-
I guess I can stop waiting for a Christmas card? LOL
-
I donโt like most of you enough to travel to spend time with you
-
Alternatively, I would also be up for an in person draft during cactus league in 2020.
-
I am in for Fall League of we can pick dates in the next month or two.
-
Thanks Fred, now he'll go for at least $15.
-
Tommy LaStella has more HR than strikeouts
-
i could go for some real spicy Indian food
-
I will look for Modus Hoperandi on tap
-
Best food in salt lake is ethnic fare. The mormons are known for bland food that is uninspired. But ethnic restaurants like middle eastern (Mazza), Indian (Katmandu), and Hispanic (Red Iguana) have great food. EPIC is the best brewery, but I dont think they have food.
-
Do they have good bbq in salt lake ? What are they known for ?
-
Brent, No doubt, summers in the Front Range could improve your quality of life!! And not all that long ago, 600 at a Rockies game was a pretty good crowd too (okay, a bit of exaggeration).
-
Ha. I don't know about all that, Fred, but I'm happy. I don't take advantage of all the baseball opportunities as much as I should.
-
Brent lives a high quality of life
-
Oh yeah, and 600 is a big crowd at these games... incredible.
-
Brent, You pretty much live in baseball heaven.
-
I'm in. Really missed it last fall. In my opinion, the best professional baseball spectator value and entertainment value to be had, period. Every game is pretty much an all-star game, every seat in every stadium is available for less than $10, every day is dream weather, and where else can you go to two games a day and find superb bird-watching and dining opportunities in-between. I suppose spring-training has a lot of this too, but not for less than $10 a ticket.
-
Also, we should start planning this yearโs AFL trip soonโbefore Mikeyโs calendar gets too jammed up. Maybe Fred will realize he doesnโt have to stay in Chicago all 6 months of winter too.

I made a half-hearted try to get him back as part of the Freeman-Acuรฑa trade but didnโt expect it to work (see โirrational attachmentโ below) and had to settle for Sixto instead.

Also, I've had an irrational attachment to Riley ever since Bat and I saw him hit a monster HR in the Arizona Fall League. Went to see Acuna, who never played while I was there (but hit 2 HRs the day I departed.. the bastard) and instead fell in love with Riley.
-
I doubt that anyone wanted him. The HRs stand out, but his big break-thru this season is his sub-20% K-rate. Skeptical that's going to hold up against mlb pitching. I think tonight will be the first time the Braves lineup will be majority NextGen w/ Acuna, Swanson, Albies, Riley, and Soroka forming a 5 to 4 majority.
-
Im surprised that none of the rebuilders could pry Riley away from NGB , who has him in both leagues.
-
Riley up in LF , will get duel eligible
-
Vlad jr. 1st career HR. To straight away CF @ san fran

The Hiura age is here ! I will comp him to early 90s version of Carlos Baerga
-
Last call on Sale and Moustakas
-
I will miss the prediction discordance for guys like Albies who hit very few minor league HRs only to say helloooo mlb baseballs!! Now, as long as guys don't jump to mlb directly from AA, we'll pretty much know what to expect in the power department.
-
Surprising exactly no one!! More predictable than taxes and death.
-
Interesting read, I will leave you to your own conclusions: https://www.boston.com/sports/mlb/2019/05/12/triple-a-batters-smashing-it-since-mlb-ball-is-put-into-play

Is anyone interested in the Rays 1B prospect I just acquired? i don't really want him but thought someone might.
