Analysis: The 22-year-old slugger started the previous 17 games but will receive Sunday off after posting a .232/.284/.362 slash line and 33.8 percent strikeout rate during that stretch. Luis Garcia will fill in at designated hitter for Wood, opening up second base for Jose Tena.
