Ohh snap Ubaldo Jimenez is available now!!
-
As a Blue Jay fan, who has been thrilled but mostly disappointed by d'Arnaud in recent years. I feel your pain. It's unfortunate, but this kid cannot stay on the field. They call them fluke injuries, but how many add up to a trend?
-
Wonderful Crick strains an oblique on the same day that d'Arnaud breaks his foot!! Horrible luck for my minor leaguers. Those are two guys I was hoping would at least get a Septemer call-up and contribute.
-
I don't plan on relinquishing first place for the rest of the year!
-
My pitching ratios should be better than they are. I was chasing saves with the two cubs relievers and Benoit is blowin me up. Through yesterday, my starters have ratios of 3.105 / 1.14 and my RP's are 5.31 / 1.634! RP's are supposed to lower ratios

If you all are having issues setting lineups, you can post your intentions here prior to the start of all games that day and I will try to fix things. Don't know what happened with Fukikawa yesterday--I can put all of my pitchers in at either postion now
-
Fangraphs is gay the way they won't let someone start at a position till they make so many apperances- even when they're RPs. I couldn't start Fujikawa today so I put in Wilton Lopez. Cost me 3 runs allowed and a save and a couple k's.

Your team is not in a valid state. You have more players than you have roster spots. While you can visit the home, team, and auction tabs above, you will not be able to propose or accept trades or change your lineups. Please remedy this immediately.
-
Alright I have some answers to these questions: I currently have 42 players, so you can put in a claim for a player BEFORE you cut someone. However, I have a message that says:

I ended up bidding $2 on some prospects that if I had nominated I probably would have gotten for $2, but no one would even bid on a prospect someone else nominated, usually.

draft, but everyone else was so exhausted I think they didn't want to take the time. Take for instance Trevor Cahilland Shaun Marcum from my team. Yea, below average fantasy players- but I got them both for $2.
-
I would assume you don't have to drop someone till after you win the auction. I noticed players are goin for more than $1 but I was surprised how cheap prospects were goin late in the draft. I was trying to keep bidding up players at the end of the
-
I have been pre-dropping people before i add someone, but i also know i am going to win almost any auction i am apart of as i have near unlimited funds compared to almost everyone else
-
Question - I currently have a full roster, but if I want to auction or bid on someone else, do I first have to drop a player. It doens't look like this software is advanced enough to make a contingent drop. Any help?
-
Solution - nominate Carl Pavano

I should have tried to get a few more $1 guys at the end of the initial auction. It's almost impossible to get a $1 or $2 guy through now. Too much money left.
-
haha i looked for him in the draft but fangraphs didn't have him in there for some reason.
-
Victor Martinez? Who's that guy?

You have 2 catcher slots available to start a catcher but you only get 162 games from both slots, combined.
-
Why do we have 2 catcher slots in our active roster? The FAQ says we only start 1 catcher.

I don't think you can go through and create a price you're willing to pay for each player or anything. But everyone chose this league so you can only assume they can make the draft time, but plans do change and people forget sometimes too.
-
Fangraphs has an average price for all the players so I assume it's going to be sorted by that or some other ranks. I hope you can sort by other categories as well. I'm sure they'll be crossed out and that there would be a robot drafter.
-
More - how many different ways can we sort players - will drafted players be visible (crossed out) and if ranked - will prospects be ranked? Finally - will there be a robot drafter if one person is not there?
-
Hey all - I have a couple questions that I can't find answers to on the site but could be answer if any of you have used the draft software. Will the primary window for player selection in the draft room be sorted according to Fangraph's ranks?
-
I am game for either, but leaning towards the new allocation option. Sounds fair and interesting to me.
-
Vote-off gives the guy losing Mike Trout a $5 coupon in the auction so he should still get Mike Trout back, but might not. Under allocation if you're a bad team with young players you're probably best off b/c you'll fly below the radar during allocation.
-
Under allocation, everyone can team up agains the best team and raise his salary by $33. The worst teams could go up nothing. Under vote-off, everyone loses their most undervalued player. And in either case Mike Trout's salary is going up.
-
I read the rules for allocation again and it's not as unfair as I originally thought so I'm cool with either method. Allocation does have more strategy and provide more depth. But it's still not quite as fair, I don't think.
-
Or this. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/ottoneu-arbitration-guide/
-
Give this a read http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/new-and-improved-ottoneu-arbitration-process/
-
In the allocation option, your $5 Mike Trout would go up to a max of $40....but you would get to keep him, and at a value less than his re-auction amount. This is the worst case scenario, and it seems fair to me.
-
I have just read a number of discussion threads on the arbitration process, and I would definitely choose the allocation option over vote-off. People could team up in both options, but in the vote out, there is a 100% chance you would lose a Trout type.
-
I just read the rules again and I'd encourage everyone else to do the same: http://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/support Do we have "allocation" or "vote off" for arbitration. I'd prefer "vote off" becuase under allocation everyone can team up against someone.

It's great that we are full. Welcome to the new members. I'll be great full for a few pauses on Sat...my wife is out of town, and I am looking after the dog. I wonder how long he can keep his legs crossed :-)
-
Unlike yahoo and ESPN leagues, the commish has the ability to pause and suspend the draft. So we can pause it for 15 min bathroom breaks, haha. We could also suspend it to the following Saturday or whenever. I can draft next Saturday too I think.
-
Woohoo!! The league is full! I have read that an Otteneu draft usually takes about 8 hours, haha. I am willing to go all 8 hours on Saturday and since that works for everyone it might be best.
-
Howdy! Just joined, along with my brother. New to Ottoneu, but am excited. Anyone know how long the draft might take?
-
I was assuming it was Eastern Time, but idk. Nice team name; are you a Mariners fan now? I think Mariners and Royals have the biggest following on fangraphs, haha.
-
Answering my own question. I found where it says all times are eastern time. See you guy's at the draft

Hello. My name is Brian and I joined today and made it 10 teams so far. I look forward to playing in this league. Quick question: Is the draft at 12:00 ET? I am from the west coast and I can only see that it's on March 2nd at 12:00

if any of you have friends to invite--please do. we really want to do this on Saturday.
-
And we don't need an even number since it's not a head to head league.
-
Me too... I started researching the minors last weekend haha. I know we get a refund if the league never drafts, but Idk, do we need 12 to draft? 9 might be shallow, I think 10 would be ok.
