to be able to fill out a starting squad which is I think 22 spots, and since we're drafting so early, we can start the auction process immediately after the draft for other players

Snoop. Its in Rules and help. Under roster part d. Although in a points league I am in there are two catcher spots. Is this typical for all ottoneu? That is the only discrepancy.
-
Since this is my first time playing in Ottoneu, how many active position players there are? I can't seem to find that anywhere. thanks.

i would rather lose my player and get a potential $5 discount.

To vote go to.... http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZH728FK
-
I made a survey so everyone can vote. I also made sure that everyone could see the tally after they have voted. I will take a screen shot of the final tally so as to not have any argument to the results. The survey will close on Friday at 9pm EST.
-
I think there are good arguments for both arbitration Systems - lets vote on it

In some casec the player that gets voted off you were going to drop any way because he costs too much. The other way you will more than likely end up wit an extra $33 in salary for sure.
-
You have a chance of one player on your team gaining an extra $36 and no discount when you drop him. Or have multiple players on your roster be unkeepable because of their price? Why have a system that nukes teams?
-
Let me repeat my arbitration thoughts...why you would rather have other teams assign money to your players rather than losing just one and getting a $5 discount?
-
the commish of that league was chad young, one of the writers for fan graphs. he not only did he do that, he also was MIA most of the year and finished in the bottom 4.
-
I think we should also vote on the arbitration system we want to use: here is a link to the article describing it when it came out late last season: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/new-and-improved-ottoneu-arbitration-process/

Burros: That is one shady commish. I hope he was dealt with accordingly.
-
The reason I say this is last year there was a commish that stopped the auction simply because he was out of money. Some of us still had decent cap space left and was getting cheap talent but he ended it prematurely. This will not be the case here
-
Sounds good. I do want to be clear with everyone. Once day 2 starts the auction will not be stopped until the end. If you leave, it keeps going. If you are out of money, it keeps going. If you are just bored with it, it keeps going.
-
Perfect 24th and 25th seems to be good for all - lets go 100%

Dates work for me. Let's lock this down
-
If we are doing it this way I will be there to close it out. Day 1 will be a hard deadline of 12 am and Day 2 will go until everyone is satisfied with their teams.
-
I'd prefer to just let Day 2 run until rosters are full or everyone has left the draft.
-
Good to go on Feb 24 and 25!

Lets decide - I prefer to finish in 2 days - I dont think it will go much longer than 6 hrs today (3 hrs each day)
Duzy Donkees on
February 5, 2013 7:58 AM

On day 2, will the draft stay open until it's over or will it shut down at 12 and then go to a 3rd day?
-
DRAFT: Feb 24th and 25th from 9pm-12am ET good for evrybody?
Duzy Donkees on

I am fine with the split draft as well. With a new league and cash on the line it should be fair for everyone but we really need to lock down some dates.
-
I am fine with drafting from 9-12 EST on both the 24th and 25th. Let's get it done!
Sweetjayy21 on
February 4, 2013 3:25 PM

OK I think that is fair - Why dont we draft from 9pm to 12pm ET Sunday the 24th and continue Monday the 25th same time - 9pm ET - does that work?
Duzy Donkees on
February 4, 2013 11:56 AM

I'm not doing a from scratch draft starting at 9 on a Sunday. Start it earlier in the day or agree ahead of time to a 2 or 3 hour limit and then come back another day.

Lets do half the draft that night and half another wkend or weeknight. We'd be drafting that night probably until midnight EST, but lets make it work. This league is going to be competitive, worth working around schedules and all of that.

Yep 9pm ET is late - we have an owner flying in at 6pm CT and will be ready at 9 ET. Im in Florida - not the most ideal but ill make it happen.

9pm???? The draft will take about 6 hours easy
-
I can do 9pm EST but when does it end? I don't think all the managers on the east coast can stay up.

Does a 9pm ET draft time on feb 24th work? One of the GMs is flying in that day and arrives just in time for a 9pm ET draft

I prefer the allocation system
Duzy Donkees on
February 3, 2013 9:37 PM

Also, do we really want to go with the allocation system over the vote off system?
-
Time works either way. But regardless it should go through to the end. I will be on till every team is full and/ or everyone is out of money
-
Feb 24 works! I should be available all day.

We can also do it later - 4pm et? But it might run late that night for us on the east coast.

OK LOS DOS BURROS DE JAMUL was able to arrange - lets do the draft on Sunday Feb 24th - does 12 noon ET work for everybody?
Duzy Donkees on

It really depends on the days of the week. I am PST so 8PM EST means I am still getting home from work. To add to the mess, I am a coach and we are in season in Feb/Mar so my schedule is unpredictable on game days.
-
During the week?

To change later in feb - if not - is everybody open to doing a 2 day or max 3 draft during the wek

Im going to contact a few of the owners that have issues with dates to see if they can rearrange their schedules to make the draft happen and let you know.
