I would like to upgrade at 3B and SS. I am loaded at SP and RP, and almost all at very reasonable prices, for anyone looking to make a deal. Do not want to send Scutaro back in trade as I plan to use him as my super utility guy. Message me if interested.

I apologize. Got a little busy the last couple days. Allocation system did win so we will be going with that. Blue whales has already made the change.
-
As of now I see 7 votes for Allocation and 4 for Vote off. I'll make the change to Allocation since we have Majority.

I voted for "vote off" but i think i will be fine with either system. As long as we all operate under the same condition, then it's fair game.

I had the same issue with some owners not voting 2 years ago - I just emailed 1 week prior to deadline the owners that had not voted and got all 12 teams to vote. I dont think thats an Issue.

Allocation allows you to make a decision on which "bargains" you keep or lose and the vote off allows the other teams to tell you who you lose. Starting from scratch, I don't think it's a big deal either way.

I'm in another Ottoneu league and we have the vote off system. Only 5 people bothered voting. That's ok for the vote off but makes no sense under the allocation system.

And the way to compete is to ensure that there are good players who are always available. The only problem with the allocation is that everyone has to participate or it won't work.

I dont think that some of you are thinking this through very well. If you don't have a competitive league it doesn't really matter how good your team is, the people at the bottom will quit if they don't see a way for them to compete.

Good Idea on bumping the link. We still have 5 people that still need to vote.
-
Thought I would bump the link to vote: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZH728FK

The max would be $33 in allocation alone if the top team got $3 dollars from every player. Then add the $2 the site give every player for a minimum of 22 players that another $44, So total it would be in the $70 range. That is nuking a team.
-
Both systems are fair if we all play by the same rules. Lets continue the vote and decide based on majority
Duzy Donkees on
February 6, 2013 11:38 AM
-
Not exactly - the difference btwn a team that has the max allocated and an average allocation is maybe $15 - that will not nuke a team.

Fair is everyone losing one player. Not "the best teams getting more money therefore giving the worst a chance." Thats not fair and equal. Thats intentionally ruining another team in a $100 league therefore eliminating them from contention next year.
-
If a player gets a substantial raise, they hit free agency, and the market determines how much that player is worth. This sounds like a way to punish someone for playing well just so you can have a chance.
-
What this sounds like is a way to cheat the system. So multiple people could get together, not add money to each others roster, and then just nuke somebody elses. I'm not sure how that is fair. In baseball, No other owner has control of another teams $$$
-
But lets decide which system we want to go with BEFORE the draft.

Both are good - its just a matter of what way we want to play it - I voted for the Allocation System - think in the end is a little more fair than the vote off system

I voted for the allocation system. I did so because it is a better representation of MLB's salary structure, then just one player "leaving" (voted off) via free agency at the end of a season. With several players possibly getting substantial raises
-
it makes for a more realistic experience
-
I think its nice not to have to shake things up with your team if you have a lot of bargains, but if you want a REALLY competitive league - then the best teams will be allocated more money and therefore giving the worst teams a little bit more of a chance
Duzy Donkees on
February 6, 2013 10:16 AM

I think both Allocation Systems are very good. It a matter of choice - do you want to loose control of your best bargain every year? Or do you want the prices of your best bargain(s) to go up and you decide if you want to loose control by dropping?

Those of you that play in other leagues, check out the price of last years rookies. Do you really want to keep a Yelich or Hultzen at $7-8 when more than likely they won't help you this year and if you keep them, what $10-15 next year?
-
I think that we all play in a keeper league because we all think we can be the next great GM. We want to build a great team. Allocation works against that by making several players too expensive to keep. Thus turning the league into a basic redraft leagu
-
You guys do realize you will be losing all of your top talent because they will cost to much. I am so confused as to why someone would want that. Could someone explain?
-
I wasn't even aware that the 1-2 dollars to every player was added on top of what other players give you. So your entire squad can gain over 60 total dollars in salary. Why are we voting for that?
-
You guys realize that everyone is allocating money to every other team. On top of that the website will still add the 1-2 dollars to every player on top of that.
-
thanks everyone.

Yes - 2 spots for 162 games combines. For Pitchers is a max of 1,500 Innings between 5 SP and 5 RP

There are two catcher spots, but I believe you can only accumulate up to 162 games of stats for the catchers combined.
-
That is true - BUT its important to remember that we do need at least $1 for each roster spot - so if you have 38 roster spots open and $2 budget - you cant spend $2 on a player and have $0 for the other spot. Have you spend max $1 on each.
