Whats the specific rules for adding the player? He gets him at the price that player was cut? or like the average ottoneu salary?
-
Yes
-
As presented, I vote no. I support the adding of a player but not the arbitration piece.
-
Yes or No, Kenton.

Even without changing anything he is probably the favorite to win next year lol
-
I think either we do no arbitration on his players, OR allow him to add any player he wants. I think both is too much, but I'm fine with whatever everyone else thinks.

Yes

"Yes" for the proposed compensation package. "No" against it.

Just to be clear, are we voting on all or nothing? Or can we parse it? Meaning, I think it makes more sense to grab a player than completely absolve of arbitration costs. But wasn't sure if that was an option?
-
I'm gonna give three days for voting. Deadline is midnight on Friday.

I'm not in favor of a permanent policy, bc there are players and there are PLAYERS and no easy way to create a rule that differentiates between the two. I think we know it when it happens and when someone loses a cornerstone player, it makes sense for the competitive environment of the league to compensate that player. I'm going to count your question as an objection and hold a vote on this specific fix for this specific situation. As always, I will only vote if my vote influences the results.

(just to add, might make sense to vote on it)
-
I would like to say that I think this year went very well. I think it is impressive that 6 of the 12 teams finished above 17,000 points. Maybe that is not as impressive as I think it is, but it seems like a solid year all around.

Again, I am not trying to be the bad guy and a party pooper. I just don't know the best way to handle a scenerio like this.

Like would this be a one time deal or are we setting a precedent when team losing a player by either them dying or suddenly retiring they will be compensated for that. Not that is doesn't suck to lose a player like that especially in that manor, but is there a difference looking at the game if a player all the sudden decides to retire? Just some thoughts I had. I am not really advocating one way or another, but I am just voicing concerns for down the road if someone loses a player.

This is a tough decision, and it would absolutely suck to lose a player of his caliber. I am honestly going back and forth whether this is what should happen. I think we should have a vote to determine this because if a majority of people are for it, I will go along.

Ah yes, I almost forgot about relegation. If anyone wishes to, they may nominate the following players to be kicked out of the league: Shrews, Sam, Derek, and Jeremiah. If anyone is nominated, a vote will occur. If no one is nominated, it's business as usual.

Ah, I'm good then. Although I think I'm technically eligible to voted off the island so that vote might not mean anything.

Yes, but I can roll them back with commissioner tools.

I'm good with whatever, but you're saying zero allocations at all to his team plus a player? For our allocations to work don't we have to put a dollar on everyone's team?
-
Hey y'all. I'm interested in compensating Andrew somewhat for Jose Fernandez's death. This is my idea; he didn't ask for it. Here's what I propose: none of us allocate on Andrew. Losing Jose Fernandez is a way bigger loss of value than allocation, so I'd also suggest we let him choose one player not kept by any other player to add to his team at his cost for this season. They'll all be at or above market value, assuming nobody makes any dumb mistakes. Any objections? If so, we'll have a vote.

You can always win bids. you just have to make cuts to make room for them on your roster, like I just did. No shenanigans.
Paul Dano on

And you can always bid whatever, just during the season your team gets locked until you get it back into a legal state.
-
Assuming the little end of season loophole where you can overload salary and money without any repercussion. Tomorrow the roster restrictions and money don't matter so it doesn't impact a lot..kind of the spirit of the law type thing
-
I always thought you could only bid available money
-
How did you win those bids when you had negative money??
-
Yeah you got too big of a team bro
-
(Christian you need to cut a couple guys....)
-
Always looking to re-load. Never savoring the victory. The mark of a true champion.
-
Can we trade before arbitration? or do we have to wait?
-
Thank you Shrews. Hopefully Christian wont make up 600 points in 2 days lol - But does anyone know when we are allowed to start trading once the season is done?
-
There's a poetry to you and Sam coming in last.

Congrats on the W Kenton, and to myself, for feeling *really* good about my team coming into this season and finishing last. Awesome once again.

That makes me the league leader in deceased players in our league with 2 (Oscar Tavares and Jose Fernandez)

:( RIP Jose
