Note, he had let me know there might be a timing blip prior to Jan 31 (though communication gets shut off after Jan 31 so I was worried we'd lost him) and since he had been in the league 4-5 years previously and had been commissioner in the league up until Jan 31, I offered him back his job as commissioner. • Hey everyone, D/FW had previously mentioned he wasn't sure he would be able to renew, but since he'd been in the league so long I gave him the full grace period to decide. I'll work on recruiting a new owner, but that also means we are back down to 1 commissioner. Is anyone interested in being a co-commissioner? Otherwise, I can probably manage, I'm just a little worried I might not quite be home for the start of the draft and so may be attempting to do the first bit on my phone from the bus.

• I also agree with allowing cut guys to be taken back but not reversing trades (full disclosure: I made a trade with the previous owner but I have had no indication that the new owner wants it undone). It's likely that subsequent decisions have been made based, at least partially, on that trade having happened and undoing it now is not good for the health of the league.

• My opinion. I'm good with the add/drops, that's only fair. As for reversing the trade, my opinion is that the trade should stand. I feel that could set a precedent for future owners who join the league to call for trade reversals, which I think could get awkward and potentially contentious. As a potential solution, going forward any new team joining our league should be required to immediately pay league fees for the upcoming year as to avoid this join-trade-quit scenario. Just my opinion.

• Some feedback from me; 1. No concern on adding dropped players back to Santa’s team. 2. On the previous trade, I’ll defer to Santa. If he’s ok letting it stand so am I. If he wouldn’t have made the trade then maybe fair to reverse. Again, I’ll defer. 3. On draft, please prioritize the other owners as I’m still an outlier living overseas. So I’ll go with the others decision.

• A question arose as to whether a prior trade made by the previous Baseballism Santas owner earlier this offseason should be reversed as well (similar to some of the previous cuts), as the new owner wouldn't have agreed to it. Since my team is the other end of the deal, I'm going to have to recuse myself from the conversation and let the league discuss and let D/FW make the call as the uninvolved, neutral commissioner.

• Hopefully nobody else has an issue with that? I don't see any of the previous owner's cuts where the circumstances dramatically changed or anything since the offseason began (like, nobody was traded to Colorado or something), so should just be a matter of preferences, and it seems like the owner who's going to keep the team should be the one to make those keep/cut decisions wherever possible?

• Yes, if there are guys the previous owner of your team cut that you'd like back at their original salary, I'm fine adding them back to your roster so you can make that decision instead. I would need the list ideally today, or maybe tomorrow morning though, and it would be a one-time thing obviously and only applies to players that were cut by your team and not any of the other teams!

• Couple quick notes: The cut deadline is 11:59pm tomorrow EASTERN time. If you're on the west coast like me for example, that's 8:59pm PST. I assume the deadline works the same to renew. Also, that means, any player you trade for after 11:59pm EST tonight, you won't have to to cut (since trades take 24 hours to process).

• Quick note to clarify my email earlier, the January 31 due date for league fees isn’t just a request from me for this league, it’s an official Ottoneu deadline for all teams in all leagues (you should see the date on your dashboard page) so I’m not sure how much flexibility there is on it (I can check with Niv if needed). It used to be every year on your anniversary, but that is changing starting this year. Just want to make sure there’s no confusion so nobody loses their team accidental
