100% Arbitration participation! We did it! Thank you all, especially those who got in early so that I didn't need to worry about them. You can continue to play with your allocations for another day or so,
-
Sorry, I'd done my batch of allocations before the accident. I updated it now. Really sucks about him.
-
Obviously I felt horrible for what happened to him, but I must admit that it was even more of a gut punch given that I had a solid three years of investment in the guy as a member of the Fish organization. RIP.

I didn't, but I considered putting a dollar on him and leaving the rest of Fish alone. Maybe someone is just trying to save you a dollar. I don't know, it sucks in every way. If you want me to commissioner remove him so that you don't have to cut him, let me know. I could also reprice him to $1 so that you could carry him all year as some sort of tribute. I don't know why you would want to do that though.
-
Thanks for that

Whoever put $1 on Oscar Taveras should probably change that. It's just making me sad. :(
-
Wizard's contacted me and should do it soon. Bipolar is my brother, so I'll just start texting him every two hours if he doesn't do it today. Roar and Sabr are AWOL, but I'll keep emailing them.
-
I did my arb allocations when Byron reminded me. We're still missing four more though?
-
increase by $2.
-
Guess i did i. Players who have no major league service time (as defined by being placed on an active MLB roster at any point in their career) will have their salary increase by $1. ii. Players with major league service time will have their salary increa
-
Did i miss something here? Why has every player been "increased" before arbitration starts?
-
Arbitration in a few days, a couple reminders: You have to allocate every single dollar, or none of your dollars will count. You can change your allocations up to the deadline, so please allocate early and then modify later.
-
If anyone is thinking of leaving, please don't drop any players so that a new owner can make their own decisions. If you're 100% staying, do what you like.
-
Welcome to our new Detroit Stars, let me know if you need any help. The Roster Organizer can always be accessed at http://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/28/rosterorganizer, but prices and positions won't update for a few days or weeks.
-
Hey guys, I haven't been the best owner this year and have some other leagues on top of my priority list. Hopefully someone else can come in take the team over the hump. Thanks for having me around!
-
Ha, thanks. I foresee keeping the title to be more and more of a challenge as my core player salaries escalate. On that note, it's fine with me if you want to wait until after arbitration to see who's inactive. ;)
-
You're slipping, Moyer, this was the fewest points you've ended up with in three years. Congrats again, and thanks everyone for a fun year.
-
Damn...probably the wrong weekend to be away
-
Well that was fun. A little pre-draft in September.
-
Yeah, that's what I was getting at, that Carter has a decent SLG but not as high as you'd expect for someone with 30 HR.
-
Surprisingly, the problem turns out to be almost all my hitters: http://imgur.com/JEgzqvM Thanks for out slugging your HRs, Josh Harrison, Nolan Arenado, and two part-time OFs. [Edit: that typo was too embarrassing to live]
-
Actually, no, Carter's BA and OBP are terrible (big surprise), but he's SLGing over .500 now, so he's not dragging me down there either.
-
Carter yes, but Bruce hasn't even really been hitting HRs, he's just been terrible at everything (I mean, uh, a great bounceback-candidate keeper). So having him is suppressing both HR and SLG. Bogaerts is in the same awful boat.
-
That is weird. Guys like Carter and Bruce getting HRs with low batting averages? Giving too many at-bats to Xander?
-
How do I have 10% more HR than anyone else while sitting eighth in slugging? I don't have a games-played advantage.
-
... and you're still going to win. With an All Star DL

Now Machado and Darvish... fate really wants to give someone else an opening here. :(
-
Yeah, it did. Thanks a lot, old-school jerks! Don't you realize these guys are teammates someplace?
-
Wow, that Arizona-Pittsburgh series went REALLY badly for Rime.
-
There has been no support for resetting the league, so I'd consider that idea dead. I still think Rime is benefitting from a number of one-time advantages, but I'm glad everyone wants to stick it out. Let me know if you disagree.
-
I'm late to the party, but I'm staying in there and would like to keep my team of prospects who probably won't pan out.
-
I think I allocated money to the formerly $6 Jose Fernandez. Rime drafted and developed better than everyone else in the beginning and now.
-
It's mostly my fault for championing the allocation arbitration system. We haven't even had 100% participation, which was a boon to Rime, If we'd voted, Trout, Goldschmidt, and McCutcheon would be on other teams for $160+ combined instead of $83.
-
Build from a continuous pipeline of young talent, spend in free agency for missing pieces, #classy -- I see us as the ottoneu Cardinals. If you wanna hate for that, fine. Best fans in fantasy baseball! ;)
-
Well, I'd like to think my organization isn't evil. We're no small-market underdogs, but we don't give $100MM contracts to steal our rivals' heroes.
-
It will be more satisfying if/when someone finally does overtake him. In my longest running league, one team has been renamed the "Evil Empire" and it is satisfying for the whole league anytime anyone defeats him.
-
I would honestly prefer not to start over from scratch. Yes Rime has built a dominant team, but that is even more of a reason not to blow the league up in my opinion. Finishing second in a 12-team league is laudable in-and-of itself.
-
I have a pseudo-plan for 2015, but, if the consensus among the owners is we want to disband the league I'd be okay with that, too. I wouldn't do it just because one team has won X number of times in a row, but just if there was a desire to start over.
-
It's already down to five points! It'd be good to hear from others too; has anyone been really planning for 2015 or 2016 and doesn't want to lose what they've built?
-
I think I can come back...but of course I'm supposed to think that. Honestly though, I enjoy the challenge of trying to dethrone Rime so I would probably vote to continue the league as is, but I can see why some people might feel differently.
-
But all starting fresh could be interesting too. When we began this 3.5 years ago, none of us knew how it would all work; now we are better prepared. Either way, this is a flattering discussion to have.
-
Well, I'd be in next year either way. Obviously I would like to see how long my organization can sustain this success (and it won't be forever, and I absolutely think a team can make up 8 points in 2 months...).
-
Really? You're being charitable even to Lawrie to think he has a chance this year to pick up 8 points in 2 months.I'm just one guy, but I doubt I will be back next year. Even though I think my team could be better next year, I doubt I could actually win.

I would say it's more like 7 of us know we can't win. Is the league so broken by Rime's perpetual dominance that we should burn it down this offseason and start fresh? Based on past winters, we'll be replacing at least a third of the league either way.
