Agreed. Let's get the players (including, especially, minor leaguers) their fair share to get labor peace for years to come, and a season start date set so we can revisit if we need to move from the 27th.
-
I was only joking. Maybe. Remains to be seen like everything else. Fuck the Owners.
-
If you want to propose why and how we should do that, it can be up for discussion. But my feeling is there'd have to be no objections, public or private, to change a rule we already made our plans around last month.
-
Can we move back the roster cut date?
-
Great job on cuts everyone. Now we begin the looooong wait to see if the season is starting on time. Thanks Horns for the book rec.
-
Ok everyone, February 15 is upon us. All cuts and trades must be made by 11:59 pm ET tonight (so that's 11 pm CT, 10 MT, 9 PT). Since we've had such an active bunch, I'm prepared to be pretty strict about that. Details in email.
-
During this lockout season, for any readers in the chat, consider Fantasyland by Sam Walker, it’s about his rookie experience in Tout Wars.

Ok, finally made my pre-cut trade block update. Who's pretty untouchable -- Vlad, Ohtani, Julio Rodriguez, O.Cruz. Who am I not keen on talking about unless it's a big time offer -- Mullins, Kelenic, Carlson, A.Thomas, Gallen, Sixto, Roansy, Lodolo, Grisham, Mounty. All the rest, yeah I'll listen. Some on my Available may get cut, but some will not.
-
Yup, only 3 days left til the trade/cut deadline. Time to do one more trade block update and see if there's any sweetheart deals out there.
-
Yes, possession really is better than possibility. You guys should totally keep all those overpriced stars!

Sometimes possession is better than possibility; cheap offers for Max, Alex B., Bauer etc. could make 'em yours!

ohh my, both Valentine’s Day and Cut Down Day are upon us!!! send offers for Cole and he could be your Valentine, tho there is an 80% chance I hold onto him… I have been known to make a deal
or thirty so my phone is always open for the right deal that helps us both!
-
Im looking to move Strasburg plus a low end prospect for a high end prospect. Any takers?
-
Long live ThreeTwentySeven!
-
3/27 also works for me, if the season gets delayed then we should push back the draft date.
-
Jeez man, I ignore trade requests for like 2 days in November and look at the rumors that pop up. There's no redwoods on my compound which may or may not have tunnels under the U.S.-Mexico border, I'll tell you that much.
-
Good luck finding him, Cutch. Word is Rime's an off-gridder whose love of baseball and dedication as Commish compels him to hazard the climb of a tall redwood for sporadic cell service.

I can do Sunday, March 27th, and I will be in the US time zones.

that works!
-
And checking again, no one is planning on being outside the 4 main US time zones that day?
-
How would Sunday the 27th work for people? It's probably better to get it on the calendar and ask everyone to try to keep that open.
-
How difficult is it to set a date and then change later? It doesn't really matter to me, I can make it work. It sounds like we either do it before the season would start (no matter what) or gamble and book it for early April. If the consensus is that the season will be delayed, and we always bemoan the inevitable pitcher injuries after our draft, why not choose the first weekend in early April?

Overall, I'd prefer late March, but also would prefer a weekend & I'm not sure Commish Rime can do 3/26-27.

I'd prefer the last week of March, but I'm flexible. Like Rime, I will be out of town for a little over a week between 3/11 and 3/21 with only a phone.

Maybe we can set a tentative date of Sunday, March 13th, with an intention to move back if Opening Day moves? I hate to say it, but I think there is a very strong likelihood of the lockout continuing well into March, which would in turn likely leave a lot of free agents with uncertain status come draft time if we do the draft too early on etc.

Opening Day is set for March 31 (keep an eye on it though - the lockout could push it back)
-
I'm with The Saint.
-
I am flexible. I would like to set a date though so can work personal items around the draft - son is wrestling, etc...
-
I'm likely not drafting anyone so no preference here
-
I'd like us to draft as late in the spring as possible due to the seemingly high likelihood that the lockout continues.

I would prefer to do it between March 1 and 20, maybe by the 17th, because I might actually leave town for a Spring Break of sorts after that. If the start of the season is delayed, after the 27th could work too. I'm flexible on times. Is everyone here on a time zone between Pacific and Eastern Standard?
-
Just sent an email to everyone, but the brief highlights: thanks for renewing, cut deadline still Feb 15, still time to update your blocks and trade before then, let's work out a draft date!
-
@Rime I recall a simular proposal last year :-)
-
Also if anyone didn't catch it, the Cut Deadline has been extended to Feb 15. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets moved again if the labor dispute keeps going.
-
You can have a bit of mine: Step 1 - trade me Tatis for nothing...
-
@Six Toe... can I have some of your cap room?
-
so there is a chance... Steelers had to win (which they did in OT, as Big Ben, completed multiple 3 downs and even a 4th an 8 for a game winning field goal)... Jacksonville had to beat the colts (what?!) and the Raiders/Chargers had to avoid a tie (which might have happened 2 mins remaining into OT) ... Im gonna play the lottery tonight!
-
I('d) love to trade Mad Max (again)...Happy New Year, Imaginary Hammers - here's to an actual season in 2022!

We sure seem to love trading Jon Gray in this league
-
No Cutch has been one of my best trade partners.
-
I'm not sure I'm following the plot here. Six Toe, are you suggesting that Cutch is a snake oil salesman? Did he tried to trade you Bill Clinton?
Roar from 34 on

See, I didn't vote for Clinton in '92 because I was 11. My hometown didn't have an MLB team just yet, and I didn't even know how to calculate wOBA!
-
You know... I didn't vote for Bill Clinton in 92 because he seemed like a "snake oil salesman. " But Cutch and I have been very good trade pardners since we both joined this league. Sometimes you just gotta look for suckers because they always exist. I am guilty as well. And I have been suckered also because that is how trades work out when graded in retrospect. No harm. None of this is real. Have fun boys.
