Anyone do a wellness check on Cutch, our local actual Pirates fan?
-
As for you, Inkosi, do you happen to have a fire extinguisher I can trade for to put out my pitching staff dumpster fire?

Way to hop on that opportunity, Horns.

Huh? Wait a sec. Why does Oneil have the red 60IL next to his name? Wait! What?! NOOO! What the hell is a fibula?!!!

To be fair, that’s some tough breaks with McKenzie, Rhys, and Eloy
-
Big trade! Already looking to ‘24, Horns?
-
Lol, something about Friedl just screams “$4 player,” I guess
-
Apparently, O'Neil needed to run faster. There's a standard. Unlikely, Marmol would allow the Hornswogglers to play on his field.
-
Maybe if McKenna had needed to run fast to get there he would have caught the ball...

as far as I can tell, Ryan McKenna's only skills are supposed to be running fast and catching the ball.

I'm only commenting to push down the mention of the Little League error that led to the ridiculous loss by the O's in Boston. I may need to comment 9 more times in the next few hours.

That was such an unbelievable sequence of events. It cemented McKenna as the villain of the piece while strengthening the Bautista Is Struggling storyline; simultaneously letting the admittedly slow footed Yoshida off the hook for not running hard to second base on the popup and temporarily ameliorating the wrath of Red Sox Nation by rewarding their bumbling start with a hollow victory. Ya gotta love this friggin’ game.
-
If I were running the O's, I think I'd consider the possibility of Ryan McKenna having to take a walk...off the plank.

It's fixed.

I posted in tech support. It seems others are having the same issue. My team has 30 points but I still want to see it burn.

Live stats seem broke. Can anyone confirm?

sounds like an automatic win haha
-
And an OBP of exactly .420!
-
69 points is nice, but I'm not used to that being enough for 1st place.
-
Rendon… hmm.
-
Wow, Jays-Cards was a lot of fun

3.5 hours & counting. Hope it's not all downhill from here; nice to see Acuna get the first hit & Judge the first HR of '23.

Lol Roar. R from 96 coming soon! Look out now though, 2 hours into the season we apparently have a statistically significant sample as the Saint is in first place.

Buy! Sell! Orange Futures!! Pork Pasts!! Cats and Dogs laying together!!!

Boys, Inkosi's in a state of delirium, so maybe a good time to spam those low ball offers. No offer too ridiculous. Just keep hitting send.
-
Happy New Year!

Yes, indeed, Cutch. Let's have some ball. Good luck to everyone's Imaginary (and favorite real) teams this season.

low blow, Rime. I'll consider changing the name to Roar from 91 if you think it will improve my chances this season.

My Ottoneu profile shows "Acquired" October 18th, 2015 in the active teams section - that's where I got my date from. It seems right, but now I'm seeing "Note: We have baseball records starting October 18, 2015" in the fine print. And wondering how/why I would've acquired a team in October....
-
Old man Roar, just like me. Yeah, a lot of the franchise stuff (name, championships, etc) seems to just get transferred from one owner to another, so maybe all of us say Est. 2011 because that's when the league started up. I thought "from 34" meant you had been in Ottoneu league 34 (similar to how this one is #28 in the URL). Last season you had 34 points in the standings, so there's that. Let's go O's!
-
Rime, my profile tells me I joined in 2011, which doesn't seem right. But I do have a memory of picking up an abandoned team and claiming a young Jose Altuve off waivers in the summer of 2013 for $5. Which makes me feel old.

Hey guys! I'm Michael, I'm from (and still live in) Toronto. I've been in the league since 2016, and consistently finished in the middle of the pack (ie, cannon fodder for the actually-competitive teams). I thoroughly enjoy the friendliness and camaraderie of the league, so even though I probably don't spend enough time on it to compete for a title, I have no plans on leaving anytime soon. Love this idea Rime!
-
Nice, that's 10 of 12, just haven't heard from Smoak and CPK? Roar, do you remember when you joined? I thought you might have been one of the longest-tenured members with me.
-
made me laugh Roar - Bucs and Os had some battles in 70s! (also before my time) hopefully both squads can rekindle a WS birth sooner rather than later!
-
Chris, originally from Baltimore. RF34 is an homage to the days (when I was too young to appreciate them) when the Orioles were good. I enjoy this format and this group of owners. Well, most of them, anyway. (that's a joke, Cutch.)

Danny here, I grew up in Western PA so love my black and gold - Pirates, Steelers and Penguins #rideordie! Currently reside in Cheat Lake, WV and enjoy boating in the summer-time w/ my boys and family. Been in the league a few years now and enjoy this format a lot... always up for a convo on baseball or a trade discussion. Welcome again!
-
Cool! Current franchise ownership dates so far as I can piece together:
Rime 2011, Roberto & Cub 2016 (think you joined the same year?), Saint 2017, Horns 2021, Risk 2022, Bedlam 2023. Inkosi completely unknowable unless it's encoded in that manifesto, but I think it was sometime around '17-'19?
-
This is Kuang, I was in the same phd program with Justin and Keith and joined this league in 2015? I can’t remember, I just know it was before Cubs’ WS title. Based in SF Bay Area right now but traveling to Japan as often as I can. I’m not a fan of any particular team now, just love watching baseball and special talent like Ohtani. I hope to go to a game in Japan soon.

Y’all know me. Know how I earn a livin’. I’ll catch this bird for you, but it ain’t gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down to the pond and chasing bluegills and tommycocks. And we gotta do it quick, that’ll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin’ basis. But it’s not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I’ll find him for three, but I’ll catch him, and kill him, for ten. If you want to stay alive, then ante up.
-
I'm Keith and this will be my 8th season in the league. I'm originally from Boston but live a 10 minute walk from Camden Yards in Baltimore, where I got to know our commish Justin many years ago. I've carved out a pretty cozy place in the basement of this league over those years, though I keep telling myself to start actually competing.
-
Tim/Space/The Saint/St. Nxxxxxxx here. This'll be my 7th season in our league, where I've been lucky enough to consistently finish in the money and bag a hat trick of championships, the last in 2021. I'm a long-time Seattle/Tacoma resident but grew up Californian in Hollywood & the East Bay, the latter contributing to a lifelong allegiance to the A's.

Hello everyone my name nick ross I've been in league for 2 years I love this league a lot trades and salary cap draft I'm always open for trades good luck everyone
-
I'll go first. I'm Justin, I live in Albuquerque, and I joined this league in the inaugural season of 2011, though not as commissioner. That first year we finished 11th, but learned a lot and had some clever rookie / international picks like Trout, Machado, and Darvish. We then won the league in 2012, '13, and '14. Tried to contend every year but took a long time to get back to the top. Original commish Pillar of Teeth asked me to take over sometime in the middle.
-
While we are waiting for opening day, I was thinking people might want to introduce themselves including how long they've been in this league?
-
Ahead of the draft, an announcement that I’m looking to trade Machado or France, or some pitching, for similarly-valued Outfielders. Consider when drafting ;)
