Did anybody else watch the Champions League final? Chelsea beat Man City 1-0 - it was one of the best games I ever saw.
-
Watching the Cubs Cards game, I would bet money that Molina is juicing.
-
My pitchers also can’t keep me in the race. I am selling if anybody is buying.
-
My pitchers also can’t keep me in the race. I am selling if anybody is buying.
-
I've been telling you that your pitchers cannot keep this up.
-
My pitchers had 55 points through their first 9 innings today. They now have 28 points through 19 innings.
-
Well we have heard that before with Sale.
I have been wondering about this velocity increase for about a year now. Especially for a guy who is going to turn 33 fairly soon.
-
The initial report is the MRI on Degrom wasn’t too bad. If the Mets were doing better maybe they could take it easy on his arm for a while so he would be ready for the playoffs. It could be a very close race in the East so I hope DeGrom is fine. As much as I don’t like the Mets, we can’t root for the Braves or Phillies!
-
Hasn’t anybody else been wondering how and why his velocity has been going up every year? And this year he went past “ridiculous speed” all the way to “ludicrous speed”?
-
I don’t care much about winning an Ottoneu game, and I don’t even care that DeGrom is a Mets... I would rather have DeGrom playing. But I have been thinking he is a time bomb since he started hitting 102 in spring training. Why his velocity keeps going up as he ages, and why the need for more velocity when he was already the best in the game?
-
Yeah I really hope he is alright. Not just because he is the best player on my team, but I really enjoy watching him pitch. I think he is easily the funnest pitcher to watch right now.
-
They have him set for an MRI. I hope he is okay. About 6 weeks ago I had a herniated disc in my lower back. Absolutely terrible pain - totally took me off guard. It was right side of my lower back, similar to what the reports say about DeeGrom. If he has a disc problem he will be out for the year. I hope it’s nothing major.
-
Clearly something is weird. I’ve been watching the game since the start of the 5th and the Mets haven’t said a word about this,
-
DeGrom pulled from his start. He is a time bomb. Suddenly throwing 101 mph. Mets are so screwed if he blows his elbow trying to set strikeout records.
-
19th in ppg amongst qualified catchers. I don't think that is "super well" for anyone.
-
I mean Vazquez isn't performing anywhere near the level of Posey and Perez, but he is still 11th in points scored for catchers and hitting better than a lot of other catchers that are rostered right now.
-
Who is the third one hitting the ball "super well"?
-
Sorry probably should have clarified. I am willing to trade one of the catchers, not just a first come first serve type of situation.
-
Sure
-
Who needs a catcher? I have three catchers all hitting the ball super well and I simply can't start all of them.
-
Is anybody interested in Eloy? He is probably on the 60 day IL another few months but maybe as a stash for next year? Or for a contender, I could offset his $ with a loan and maybe he is help for the stretch run? Let me know.
-
I was referring to Rodon for Fletcher.

I agree very dumb. I think you should just cancel the trade or flip all of the players to me.
-
That was a dumb and desperate trade by me. I admit it. Part it was that I had him in all four leagues. I hope Fletcher can be somewhat useful this year.

Winnetka's offense might keep getting better but at least he gave me Rodon. What an outing he had again today!
-
Longoria is having a good season. I think of him as being old, but he is younger than Justin Turner and no reason he couldn’t still have some decent seasons left.
-
So Buxton's OPS will go down from 1.400 to 1.100. Buxton has completely changed his swing over the past two years. Spa as a youth baseball coach, I think you would approve. He looks so much more comfortable. Now if they can just fix Sano.

I would worry more about his .420 BABIP. You should trade him to me now... before that BABIP regresses.
-
Haha to be fair I also said I wasn't super concerned about his knee, but yeah I will happily steal him from you anytime. What a beast he has been.
-
Squirrels was trying to get me all anxious about Buxton's knee two days ago. I think he was trying to steal him from me.
-
If anybody is interested in trade talks, I am looking to see what the market values are on my players. I know my high-$ guys are probably only if value to contenders in ‘21, but there are players like Alonso, Yordan, Snell, Nola who should have keeper value.
-
Basically the day I cut C.J. Cron he started actually hitting the baseball.
-
Everyone stop giving Winnetka your stud players!
-
Well, crap. The Cubs are now officially a Dream Team.
-
It is still sooo early. Lots of baseball left to be played! My offense will figure out how to hit the ball eventually haha
-
I've got Springer and Voit coming back soon. Squirrels, I think you should look to next year as well. In all seriousness, it is way too early for any of you in the top five to cash it in for next year.

I will rally that sentiment. Would love to add more to be able to keep up with Winnetka after he just added Harper AND LeMahieu!
-
I’ll gladly sell all remaining future value for current value. I would like to make a move before Winnetka and Squirrels pull too far ahead that I couldn’t catch them.
-
I think the Padres were smart to commit that money to him. If he had suddenly been declared a feee agent, I wonder what he would have signed for. Much, much more than $24M/year. Maybe twice that.
-
Tatis! Wow!
-
Looks like I picked another good time to trace a pitcher. Ha!
-
Watching Padres/Dodgers game today. Lamet played catch and apparently it went well.

I agree. I think most likely scenario is that he will throw his bullpen today and it won't go well and he will be shut down. If it goes will he will most likely start in the 10 days and then be shut down after he throws in inning. I'm saying like a 5-10% chance that he throws more than 5 innings this year.
-
But of course, then again, maybe he is fine. Who knows? Probably not even Lamet.
-
Lamet missed time last year with a UCL “sprain” (a word used to describe almost any damage to a tendon). He missed time this spring. He came out after 2 innings in his first start. They are hoping for the best, but I guarantee they are on the phone with other teams about SP. Padres still (somehow) have a lot of talent in the minors. A trade is coming. Lamet won’t throw another pitch this year.
-
They are still saying Lamet's arm is structurally sound and that they want him to start in 10 days. I sure don't know of many times that a pitcher leaves with forearm tightness and ends up coming back just fine.
-
Especially in Lamet’s case since he already had it once before.
-
Yeah I am guessing they knew about it but were still just holding out hope he could rehab and avoid surgery. Even with how successful TJ is nowadays you still would want to avoid surgery at all costs if it is possible.
-
The dreaded “forearm tightness.” Almost always means TJS. I am surprised it took this long. If he had a tear, didn’t an MRI show it before today? I assume they have had MRIs done since he was injured last year. How does it happen that he has been “rehabbing” but not in need of TJS for months, then he finally throws 2 innings and now he has a torn UCL? What have they been doing since last fall? Weird.
-
Yep doesn't look good. Too bad, I was very excited to get to watch him pitch today and he was looking pretty good too.
