Deadlines for renewal and rosters are both due by midnight Sunday, January 31st. Also looking for 2 more owners before the Draft Day in 3 weeks, so if you know anyone who may be interested, encourage them to join our league. Hope all are well and safe!

I will renew too.

No one has, as yet. I will renew in the next couple of days.

Has anyone in the league renewed for 2021?
-
It's time to pay for teams. This league still has two vacant teams from what I can tell (Wild Bill Kelso's and Through the looking Glaus). Do we think this league will actually continue this year? Any feedback appreciated before the 31st

Hey all! I just joined this team and looking forward to the season. I've already sent some trades, but am very eager to start trading! Listening to offers on any and everyone!
-
Happy Wednesday to all! I just claimed this team. My name's Greg and I'm a 35 year fantasy baseball veteran. I have a really weird year of Ottoneu under my belt, so I acquired another team.
I updated my trade block, but in reality, anyone's available on my team. Those who aren't on the trade block would require a bit more to acquire. Look forward to chatting with you all.

Hi guys, I'm Giacomo from Italy I played baseball for 20 years in Italy and I like fantasy baseball. I have two keeper league on fantrax and this is my first time on ottoneu. I've joined the league with the aim to play dynasty and stay long time. So I hope we can have good time together. Probably I'll need to ask some info to begin, but I hope not bother You too much. I know my English is not perfect, so be pacient.I think I have to begin cutting some players to stay under the cap. right?

Hi STS League - Sorry to say after 3 years in the league, three of us are moving on to try another format. It's been a pleasure playing with and competing against you guys. I'm sure a well-established league like this one will have no trouble finding owners to take over these decent teams. Best of luck to y'all in 2021 - from Cepedes' Heels, Wacha 500 Miles, and Ordinary Effort.
(To the commissioner - we will message you individually to confirm that we are abandoning our teams.)

Congrats to Heels, strange season but a championship is still a championship. Well done heels!

Hey Commish, that cut of Taijuan Walker was accidental, could you place him back on my roster please? Thanks!
-
Already feeling like a moron for trading Brady Singer away, for whatever that's worth!
-
Yaong Star, you don't need to apologize for anything. This is a game, and we're all playing for fun. Your strategy doesn't have to meet anyone else's approval. (If we all had the same approach to the game, it would be boring.) No one has accused you of playing the game unfaithfully. I'm glad you're in our league.
And someday when Patino scores 1200 points and wins a Cy Young award, we'll all look back on this trade and laugh at what a moron Cespedes was for trading him away.
-
I think that's why I accepted a one-sided deal before I went to work in the morning. I felt sorry for Cespedes at the time because the trade conversation was so slow because of me. Anyway, I think I've been playing the league faithfully so far and I didn't intend to break the league's balance. Anyway, I will be more careful in trading from now on. Plus, I really liked Downs and Patino.
-
First of all, I'm sorry to make you guys uncomfortable. Cespedes probably sent me an offer expecting my counter offer, but I just accepted it. To explain that, some people may have felt my awkward English, but I am not an American Guy. I am Korean, so there is a 13 hour time difference with eastern United States. So trade is always pretty hard work for me. Especially before the deadline this time, I was so busy with my work that I barely had time to spare.
-
I agree the trade was one-sided however for me that's not a reason to veto. If there had been obvious collusion then yes, but I won't veto a trade just because an owner values players differently to me. Fair play to Cespedes for getting the value they did.

This was completely one sided and is unfortunate for those who are trying to contend. I guess that’s how it goes. If anyone has any higher priced impact players I would be happy to give you a fair and balanced trade. I’d like to make a run and have many highly rated players/ prospects.
-
The problem is, this trade was definitely one sided. 3 vetos! 1 approval and 8 abstentions!!! Owners are not participating so these deals go through. The more competitive leagues would have most certainly squashed this trade.

I veto all trades that I think are one-sided. I’m not suggesting that there is anything funny going on, just asking the league members to evaluate it themselves. If you think it seems fair than vote that way.
-
Should all one-sided trades be vetoed? Or is there something different about this one?
-
Well within your right to do that, but the deal came together without any funny business. I’m competing for 1st, he’s not, so we swapped win-now pieces for the young guns.
-
I vetoed the Yaong Star Cespedes Heels trade - seems pretty one-sided to me. Just asking everyone to evaluate the trade and vote.
-
Godspeed, La Potencia. Hopefully heel be back next year.
-
It is with great sadness that Cespedes' Calcified Heels announce a name change to Cespedes' Opted-Out Heels.
-
As you all know, Thursday is the proposed opening day for MLB. So, get your lineup ready, make your last minute trades to bolster your team and make sure your roster is within the rules. I hope everyone is healthy and safe through these unusual times. Good luck to all and hopefully we can enjoy some resemblance of a baseball season. Stay well, stay safe, now go wash your hands! Unfortunately, this pandemic is far from over, don’t let your guard down!
-
Hi all! I've just claimed an expired team here. Things look active so I'm excited! GLHF

I agree with OE, TTSGB’s still hasn’t responded and he waited to the 11th hour to voice his objection. I suggest we keep it at 4:30. I try to make it accommodating to all of you so we can all participate in the draft, but things happen, so be it.

I may still be in transit at 4pm, not exactly sure if we'll be home at 4 or 4:15 or 4:30. That's why I suggested 4:30, just to be certain. But if it needs to be at 4 or 4:15, we'll do our best to be on time.
I would just point out that there were almost two weeks of messages about changing the draft time before Try Throwing voiced an objection. Now the commissioner has tried to reach him and again there's been no response.
-
Since Ordinary Effort and Wacha 500 Miles need the time to be "anytime after 4PM" my suggestion is to move it to 4:00. This would give TTSGB 2 hours of auction time before needing to be off and hopefully not affect OE and W5M greatly. Not sure other options other than to move the date but that will most likely result in others having conflicts.
-
I’ve reached out to TTSGB’s regarding his objection to holding the draft at 4:30 pm est on Saturday, asking him for a suggestion on how to remedy his situation, but he has not responded. So, has anyone have a viable remedy to his objection?

OBJECTION: I have a dinner that I must be at by 6pm that saturday EST. I would just draft on my phone, but I have to sit at the front table.
-
Since there were no objections to the proposal to change the time of the draft to 4:30 EST, I went ahead and made the change.

Who wants to make me an offer for Rendon? I would ask for two full-time infielders (SS/2B/1B) in return, and I'd like their combined salaries to be less than Rendon's $39. Please don't offer me pitchers; I don't need those for now.
-
My favorite message board post of the year: I take the unusual step of advertising my cuts a few days in advance in case anyone has interest - see it as guaranteeing that you won’t have to bid against others for them. Let me know if you have interest, I’m not looking for much: $8 Murphy, $6 Schoop, $19 Puig, $7 Piscotty, $5 Frazier, $40 Kershaw, $7 German, $7 Clase
-
4:30 works for me.
-
I haven't seen any objections to moving the auction draft a little later on Feb 8. (My hope would be 4:30, or anytime after 4pm Eastern.) If possible, I'd like to see us nail down the auction time because it may affect my strategy for the keep/cut deadline. (If I can't make the auction, I may keep more players.) Can we lock in a time now?
-
I’m open to change to a time that best suits everyone. I chose the same time as the same as last year. Just let me know through the message board and I will change it to a time we can all agree on.

Is the 3:00pm start time for our auction on Saturday Feb 8 definite? I'm asking because it would be a lot easier for me and Wacha 500 Miles if we could start a little later, like 4pm or 5pm. But I don't want to open a whole can of worms with scheduling, so if that's definitely the start time, we'll join as soon as we can. But probably not at 3:00 sharp.

Hey everyone. Open to moving everybody. Send over offers or messages to get negotiations going!

I want to thank everyone for participating in the arbitration process. However, I am sad to report that House Lannister and Brewster’s Millions will not be with us for 2020. Both owners were very gracious to complete the arb process before leaving the league and I would like to thank them very much for doing so. I would also like to wish them well moving forward, they will be missed.

Arbitration period begins tomorrow and ends on November 15th. I encourage everyone to participate, which is vitally important to the financial balance of the league as a whole. Which brings me to the question: Should an owner that does not participate in the arbitration process be allowed to stay in the league? This topic arises every year throughout many leagues in Ottonue. Please feel free to express your opinions on this subject. I will send out weekly reminders for all to participate.

Congrats to TTSGB, House and CCH and their battle right down to the last day. We had a very competitive league, 11 teams amassed more than 15,500 points. Kudos to all. We will miss you House, good luck to you!

Congrats to Lagamer on catching me from behind on game 162 and preventing the 3-peat. Perfect symmetry from last year when I stole it from his predecessor. It's been 3 straight years, maybe 4, of fun, close finishes, but I'm gonna have to let this league go, along with many others. Ottoneu is so much fun, but 10 teams is a job, and I'm cutting out all the non-cash-prize leagues. Thanks for having me and good luck to you all.
