Anyone want Trea Turner? He's like the only Ferrari in my garage full of Ford Escorts.
-
Two thumbs up on the trade, guys. Pretty wild that a Pete Alonso / Sandy Alcantara trade would be a pass-the-trash, change-of-scenery kinda thing this year. Hope it works out for both of ya!
-
We're on the downhill slope. I wish you all good fortune in the wars to come.

You would think that with 7 pitchers now on the IL, I would reach a point where they come off it at a faster rate than they go on it. Not yet, though.

re: Schultz... I'm sorry, but I'm heavy levered on his cards so it just felt right.

I'm fine with the re-add, too. But more than that, I want to salute the hero that started the Daniel Murphy auction.
-
Sniping Noah Schultz?! Come on! He's the only thing I have to look forward to as a White Sox fan :(
-
I’m good with letting him re-add to his team. But can those trades be made with the team in 2nd to last place?
-
Yes! We should impose harsh sanctions on smg to deter anyone from misclicking in the future! :) I vote to let him re-add.
-
I think as a penalty you should have to make a lopsided trade with whoever's in last place.
-
Or three more votes, rather.

I wasn't going to arbitrarily do it as the commissioner, but if nobody objects I will take care of it.

I am also fine with it, but I feel we should have a majority (3 more people, excluding smg) if there is no policy in place.
-
Yeah he can just undo it, and I’m fine with that
-
How have we handled accidental drops in the past? Is it possible to give him back to smg? As long as we’re consistent, I’m OK with whatever.
-
Ack! I cut Paxton when I meant to cut Whitlock!

Except that the Wilpons gave that $5.9M to Bernie Madoff to manage it for them…

Meant to say 2010-2035!

Think about the Bonilla contract if you ever buy a house. When you sign that 25 yr mortgage, you are the Mets and Bonilla is the bank. Bonilla is charging 8% interest (which was the mortgage rate in 2000). The Mets paid nothing from 2000-2010, and 5.9 million grew to 12.7 million (8%/yr). From 2010-2025, Bonilla get 1.19 million/yr = yearly mortgage payment on a $12.7 million home (8% over 25 years).
-
Those are problems for future you
-
Happy Bobby Bonilla Day to those who celebrate.
I will celebrate the holiday by paying for *every* purchase I make today with a credit card. That’s right — no cash. No debit. Just a day of credit spending in solidarity with Mets ownership.

Dear Ottoneu Support,
Please add the ability to insert gifs here so I can link to a knife fight scene from "The Outsiders".

Echoing others, I really enjoy the chatter thru a long season. Awesome race for second place...6 people within 4 points. Oddly enough, I find myself pulling for Monolith to continue the remarkable run. He is probably uncatchable as long as that pitching staff is dialed in...and what could gone wrong with a pitching staff, right? :)
-
Sorry Wil, but I needed somebody who was healthy and playing regularly. Please don’t cry over this, it will only make it worse.

As I was saying earlier, my pitching staff is dialed in and ready for a deep playoff run. Never any doubt.

It's starting to look like Monolith is gonna Beer Barrels the league this year. I'll give it the ol college try though, so if you have anyone who can help this year that you won't keep next year, hit me up. Tiedemann and Davis are very much available.
-
So I'd decided to give Adam Wainwright one more chance, and it turns out it's against the Mets (who still kind of owe him, now that I think about it). I guess I'm rooting for a good reason to cut him tomorrow.

Anyone up for some more trades? Need something to keep my interest in baseball since the cardinals are hit garbage currently.

I think there ought to be reactions available for these messages, like on Facebook, so I could do a thumbs up or LOL to posts without having to post a separate message. Anyway, for the record, I'm enjoying the repartee on this board. My other Ottoneu league is deadly dull as a doornail, but this one is fun. Thanks for keeping things light and in the proper perspective, guys.

To whoever started that Owen White auction... godspeed and I hope nothing but the best for you and your family.

It feels pretty bad lol I tried being overly selective with starts, but guys are getting hit in seemingly good matchups. Maybe it’s the new rules? Only thing to do is clench your cheeks and run them out there.
-
I came into the season thinking my rotation a relative strength, and here I am with only 3 points for staff ERA, and I think only the actual Mets have a worse rotation. (Wtf, sandy!?). So yeah, e’rybody sucks right now.
-
Just out of curiosity, does anybody have a rotation that HASN'T "fallen the fuck apart"?

SEARCY, AR - The mood is tense at Monolith HQ this week as their grip on the Crane Pool Fantasy Forum starts to loosen. When reached for comment their GM stated, "It's fine... I'm fine". The team is currently trying to solidify a starting pitching staff that according to the GM has, "fallen the fuck apart". We'll keep you posted as the situation progresses.
-
Bravo, Raleigh.
"and prevent our insane, trigger-happy GM from sabotaging his own team." could be many of us LOLOL
-
RALEIGH, NC - The Raleigh Fingers announced that they actually fired their GM this spring after he wasn't able to make it to the league draft, but forgot to tell anyone because they inadvertently also fired their Media Relations team and apparently, their entire coaching staff also because the team has completely forgotten how to baseball in the first two months. "We're hoping that someone, anyone, figures this out at some point this season," said owner cdorso.
-
I personally am digging the narratives here
-
"After many internal discussions and thoughtful conversations, we have parted ways with our Director of Salary Cap Management and our Director of Pro Scouting. We believe it is in the best interests of our organization to bring in top-flight executives to oversee roster management and prevent our insane, trigger-happy GM from sabotaging his own team. We remain committed to doing whatever it takes to bring a championship to the Strikes." -Crimson Strikes Ownership
-
CICELY, AK - The Cicely Marmots are not done wheeling and dealing. A source has told Ken Rosenthal that the Marmots are motivated to move Edward Cabrera after Cabrera told a reporter with the Cicely News & World Telegram that playing in Alaska was "too damn far from everything" and it was "hella cold up here". Teams looking for a 25-year old, high-ceiling fireballer have started to submit their best offers and the Cicely GM has encouraged others to do the same.
-
Luis Urias is coming off the IL and has shockingly demanded a trade out of Cicely. We are respecting his trade demand and are now fielding offers to accommodate Luis and find him a new home within our league. If you would like to give him a place on your roster, inquire within.
Signed,
The Management

The Mets need to get their s*** together! My polar bear has gone into hibernation these past few weeks!
-
I think this also means my team is open for business. So send those trades

Great trades all around. Value for value. Good Luck!
