Appreciate the good wishes. Didn't realize you were a Blundering A's fan. But my money is on my other starter--rookie Mitch Keller making only his second big league start. And it's against the same Braves who demolished Archer last night.

Lance Lynn is due for a breakout horrible game. Let's keep the streak alive!
-
And Chris Archer followed suit giving up 5 HR for me tonight but could only manage minus 27. My new ace.

Minus 55 and Minus 54 were pretty loud farts.

I think cutting Stammen hurt team morale. He's very popular in the clubhouse---leaves the room when he needs to fart...doesn't stare at guys in the shower. These things matter in a 162 game season.
-
And now Eickhoff gives me a -54.3. So close, but Stammen's team record still stands. What are the odds? Maybe shouldn't pitch anybody tomorrow.

Looking to move Charlie Blackmon for pitching help if anyone could use a 7.35/gm OF. Please no Stammen-level offers.
-
Now do you see why I cut him the first time???
-
A minus 55 would get my granny kicked off the team, but you have touched my heart and I will bring his reinstatement up at the Winter Meetings.

I talked to Stammen and he said he'd never do that again if you'd just let him back on your roster. He's very sorry. He just wants to be part of the team again. I say give him a chance.
-
Yes, The Blundering A's will treasure Stammen's final appearance for us.

Wow, -55 for Stammen. That is almost Dylan Bundy bad.

Oh damn, gotta check that out. Pretty upset we don't have a team named Ghastly Monsters here yet.
-
It’s a great game, spent most of multiple summers playing that game when I was a kid.
-
I hate points leagues lmao
-
Awesome. NES version still one of the best 2 or 3 baseball games ever made imo. So far ahead of its time. Why I joined this league lol.
-
If you have a subscription to The Athletic, Grant Brisbee has a really good article about Baseball Stars up.
-
Good: Sale and Polanco were worth 110 pts combined. Bad: the rest of my team combined for -7 total pts.
-
More important than swinging is you're throwing. My pitching sucks and am struggling to upgrade it
-
I might go down, but I'm going down swinging.
-
I’ve still got some quality guys and am obviously building for the future so if any other contenders want to discuss trades, let’s chat!
-
To me, Trout, while great is tough at $80. I think two or at most three teams reached out about him when he went on the trade block and I was looking to get the best player I could and it seemed to me that Judge was that guy. Severino is risky due to health but I think his question marks are the only reason a guy like him at that price would be available
-
I understand your points and was hoping to sell the guys separately but didn’t get the interest I was hoping for when I put them all, Trout included, on the trade block. I’m still new here so if there is a better way for me to announce players availability, it’s my mistake for not using it
-
I do agree that Severino has been a stud but you bought on him at his lowest possible value with no knowledge that he will return healthy so that greatly lowers his value.

that essentially ends the competition in the league for the year. You are under no obligation to the rest of us I understand but I find it hard to believe Carry On will not win this year unless another top team can pull off a similar coup. Finally on a purely selfish level, I was not aware Trout was on the table. I can promise you I would have sent a more competitive offer than the one you recieved.

I disagree about Judge. I think he is a top two round player but at 53 dollars he costs 16 more than the Ottoneu average and that will only go up. I don't think it ever makes sense to trade away the best player (if we only include healthy guys the 3 best players) and give away the loan also. If you were that interested in clearing salary you could have moved Trout, Cruz, and Sanchez in separate deals and gotten more value. That also would not have lead to a deal..

I had assumed you were making this deal for the future. However, it is still a terrible value proposition in my eyes. Given the salaries and the injury status of the guys you acquired I think a solid argument can be made that Trout for the 4 guys is completely fair. Especially given the age and recent declines of Miller and Morrow.

Carry On Your Merrifield Way's trade block has been updated!
-
Anyway, I hope that helps explain my thinking on the deal, happy to discuss more and debate!
-
I had these guys on my block as looking to move and got an offer or two from teams that we went back and forth on and in the end, most of the other interest died out pretty early on or wasnt willing to give up a player the caliber of Judge.
-
And in exchange I got Judge who I think is a top 3 player in the league for a reasonable price and Severino who, if and when he is healthy, is an underpriced ace. MIller and Morrow are buy low guys who I am hoping can be healthy/good for a period of time during the year and then I can flip them long term for something else.
-
To me this trade, although it hurts my team for this year, can help me long term. Trout at $80 is tough to build around as a long term piece. No matter how good he is, 20% of a team's budget on one guy is tough. Cruz and Chapman, similarly, don't have a ton of long term value at those prices because they are aging/old and I feel like the production at least on Chapman is declining. Sanchez hurts a bit to lose but at $24 is at the upper end of what I would keep a catcher, any catcher for
-
Sorry, I dont read the message board much. I will respond now
-
I sent an email to the Padres asking them to call up Urias, though. I think he could help if they just let him play.
-
Well, it went through. This is not good for my team.
-
This is kind of exciting. The waiting. I don't know if titillated, but I might be. How can I know for sure? If I'm titillated.
