Cutting expensive star players has happened before and will happen again. I'm not going to regulate it. At worst, it leads to a chain-reaction series of moves, unless someone has a ton of cap space just sitting around, in which case, they are likely not contending. Honestly I wouldn't keep JRod for that price either, and while I would have traded him for something personally, cutting him is always a valid move.

Totally cool with cutting expensive vets at any time of the year. I play in one league where that is a very strategic move that can and will happen with about 9 out of 12 of the teams.

who would vote off a 51$ player? id argue "if" childhood is going repurpose the money in smaller moves, its his right to - hes paid for the league. but if he cut jrod then going to sit and make 3 moves a month. then jrod should be rostered until years end not to mess up 2-5

Thanks for your reply Big Papi! That is why I asked, specially for the health of the league. In your case, I like that you can claim him since you worked your team to have the available cap, and I also understand having the cap space to make other moves on the cutting team. But yes, my question was more towards the health of the league, and that I would think a top 6 team would have been willing to move some pieces to get such a player to keep or to make a push in the rankings.

Well, I tend to disagree with Steamrollers. We can argue trades if they seem lopsided, but how can we trell an owner, you can't cut this guy or that guy id his objective is to get some money in his pockets to auction or claim before the end of season (he was going to cut him anyway). That being said, I had exactly 51$ on my cap and I claimed him, but even if I don't get him as a rental, I still stand by what I wrote above.

Is that JRod cut healthy for the league? I would vote to send him back to his team and work out a trade, or cut at year's end. I don't get how it benefits Childhood's End, or the league with few teams with the cap space to even bid. He is a top 20 hitter, and top 30 dynasty player... Maybe I am wrong? He could have been voted out at year's end too, and now Elly will be exposed.
