@54 Percenters, my understanding is that if someone else picks up the player it provides further salary relief for you, but I'm not sure on exactly how the math functions.

If you drop a player and someone else picks them up, do they take on the salary then? So it would be off your books? Or is it still just 50% regardless?

My understanding is that cutting a player saves you 50% of the contract, rounded up. So cutting a $1 player would save you 50 cents, but the remaining 50 cents rounds you up to the $1 again, saving nothing. So you'd need to cut someone worth $2 or more, or make a trade.

Ok, to all those new to Ottoneu (like me) do not put yourself in a position where you are trying to free up cap space by cutting $1 players... the cap penalty just puts you in a deeper hole. I love learning experiences.

Every player I cut adds to my cap limit so I can't get my roster to be valid. I'm at a total loss here. Please help!

My understanding is that if you put a player in a starting position (like the 2nd catcher spot), his stats count. BUT it also counts against the max # of games per position for any given position.
Therefore, if you start 2 catchers and get 2 games of stats, you also count 2 games against the max of 162 for that position.

Do any of the experienced ottoneu players understand how the two catcher spots work in lineups? My understanding from the rules page is only one of the two slots scores per day and they have the two there so it's easier to manage when one is sitting out. But on days both play, how do you know which will count?

Looks like they automatically qualify for the 60 day IL and it gives you an extra spot on your 40 man roster. Like right now I have 41 spots because deGrom auto-qualified for the 60 day IL

Yes, it is dynasty, so after each off-season you will select as many of your players as desired to be kept.
