The caliber of your team doesn’t determine your adherence to the rules or the idea of the league imo

My apologies for keeping too many studs from a last-place abandoned team that I claimed in late August.
-
Willfully being at 61 in the off-season is gaming the system a bit.
-
Ottoneu rules state: “c. At no time should a team willingly go over roster and salary cap limits. If a team knowingly does this, they will face penalties at the discretion of their league's commissioner.”

Many teams will also go a few over because of players coming of the 60 Day DL
-
You can add a whole bunch of players right at the end of the season and then in the off season not be in violation of any limits that would stop you accessing your team to trade etc. just have to cut them by the off season deadline, some leagues don't allow it but nothing there has ever ruled against it and it's not stopped by the system

If I had 20 more players than everyone else, I would be updating my trade block often, too. How does that even happen?

And on the 15th day of the 11th month, Lord Niv said, "Go forth and make trades so abundantly and haphazardly that the masses hardly but notice that it is still nigh on a hundred days til pithchermen and catchyguys doth report for duty..."
-
Gents, we are past the "10 Days after the World Series ends" thing and a couple of you have not renewed. Please reach out to me in the next day or so to let me know you've renewed or that you're about to renew or that you're leaving the league. Thanks.
-
Also friendly reminder that literally my least favorite thing of being commish of this league is sending friendly reminders that renewals are due, and also please don't forget they're due in less than a week.
-
Friendly reminder for long term owners and new: our league has a unique rule in which renewals for next year are due 10 days from end of World Series. So the deadline to renew is in 8 days. We do this to ensure all owners are committed prior to the end of arb and going into the off-season and treat our seasons as if they start the day after the last one has finished. Thanks.

My understanding is that humble brags are supposed to be humbler than that, but ok.
-
Let's also not call people stupid on the board for having prospects especially since no one can argue with my collection of Thor, Mookie, Turner, Bryant, etc, who I was smart enough to buy as prospects and now hold way under market value.
-
Let's do this. Let's table the arb thing for a year. We don't have consensus on this.
-
One of the salient points that I agree with below is that every player soaks up some budget. It is to the advantage of every other owner that every player soak up as much of your budget space as possible. If someone wants to keep $4 Brendan Rodgers, that's his right. But then why shouldn't other owners be able to find out if he's goon enough to keep him for, say, $7? Also, one point of arb is that you can try to get an owner to drop someone you want to be in on, why exclude prospects from that?
-
Chief - We all paid $100 to be in this league, if you're dumb enough to put money on a prospect, the other owners of this league should be able to benefit from your stupidity. It's called a competitive advantage. This isn't paint by numbers. You make decisions which affect the outcome of your team. Nuke - so instead we're going to penalize owners who are savvy in the draft and free agency by having that money now spread to the players who are actual deals? Either way the decision has been made.
