That year the Seahawks won the NFC Div title too, and were starting to put together a respectable team. I made plan to see three Seahawks games in 2005-06, and that was the first year they went to the SB. By the end of that season I was a total homer Seahawks fan (beyond the basic, I grew up in Seattle, level of support.) I also started playing fantasy football (and fantasy sports) that year and spent the next several years devouring 40+ books on sports history and statistical analysis.

I only started following sports in 2004, because a friend of mine was a huge Eagles fan and I liked watching Donovan McNabb scramble and make play-action passes. That was the year that Rush Limbaugh denigrated McNabb as being put on a pedestal because "the media wants to see a successful black QB." I spent that season following the Eagles and hoping for karmic retribution for Limbaugh's statement, but in the end the Pats beat a tired-looking McNabb in the SB. Still, I was hooked...

At my peak I was playing in 1 to 4 leagues for each sport, each year, but that was when my job was less demanding and I was living the kid-free lifestyle. Now I can't goof off at work and 90% of my energy goes into keeping up with my energetic toddler. This morning he woke me up at 4:30 to shake maracas along with his Kid's Camp sing-along videos, for instance. While I'm hokey-pokeying, I am calculating the probability that Austin Jackson will beat his Steamer 2015 projection (for example.)

My other league is a CBS Dynasty that's been active since 1998. Very conventional, 14 teams 5x5 scoring but with IP replacing WHIP. The main thing about that league is weekly rosters and a 2 move/week limit. So owners spend the week researching without fear of losing their shot at an obvious pick-up, then blind bid. I like the deliberate pace and it's not a huge time suck. ottoneu's 24 and 48 hours bid periods for pick-ups is a nice way to ensure we can respond to any move too.

I only have enough time to participate in two leagues each year. I've given up Fantasy Football, Hockey and Basketball to focus on Baseball. And I only want to play Dynasty style (like ottoneu) and I want SABR friendly scoring (like ottoneu.) And I wanted to play in a league where my rivals have a financial incentive to stay in the game. The Jack O' Ryan Memorial League is exactly what I was looking for. You guys are all great and I'm proud to be part of your community.

Sorry to be difficult, but I JUST found out I have a conflict that day (when I went to confirm our draft with my wife). That should literally be the only conflict I have basically all spring. Is there any way to move to a different day?

Thanks for the draft feedback, guys. The day and time that seems to work for everyone is Saturday morning on 3/14. I'll book a time now, and please let me know if you have a conflict. Otherwise, we're looking at late February, early April, or a weeknight. Thanks.

I'll be drafting in my other league on 21, 22, 28 or 29 March. Our draft day here can influence my draft day there, if we get it worked out sooner. I'd prefer to start as early in the morning Pacific time as possible, 6am to 8am (PT) are ideal.
