Seems dead on for my team. I went into the draft determined to get a few of the top available bats, but the bidding was so intense I ended up having to go even more studs and scrubs than I anticipated.

I'm working up projections as well. I'll post when they're done. Thanks Rotor.

That's all I have. Please feel free to let me know how you perceive the balance of power in the league this year. I really do think it's wide open. Last year, Panik's team projected to be re-building, had fantastic, unprojected success with Daniel Murphy, Trevor Story, Carlos Gonzalez, Charlie Blackmon and Stephen Piscotty, and very nearly won the season. The only certainty is that the projection is certainly wrong.

These posts are one of my favorite parts of the season! Thanks for taking the time to do this, Brainiacs!

The next cluster is Mudball Blasters, Hillbilly WAR Machine and California Aces. Mudball and California have good hitting but their weakness appears to be pitching. Hillbilly has good starting pitching but is slightly weak at bat. All have useful pitching depth, Mudball has useful hitting depth too. Slightly behind those teams in projected points at starter is The Usual Suspects, however TUS has better bench depth. Might be a factor in it's success this year.

Circling back to The Barsi Boys - any team with Clayton Kershaw has good starting pitching, and the pitching depth for this team is strong. It should be competitive on the mound. The hitting bench depth is the issue here, the reason for the lower pre-season projection ranking.

The next cluster - No Hitters and The Barsi Boys - appear to have weaker than average starting hitting but good pitching. No Hitters - ironically - have better hitting depth on the bench and I know you'll probably complain that you spent a lot to get some of the best starting hitting and it should be better ranked, but the scrubs at other positions drag down the overall numbers. However - your deeper players could easily surprise and make me look foolish for this analysis.

The next cluster is too close to call - Braves in the Burbs, BOHICA and my own Rotor City Brainiacs. Our teams look average all around. Well, Braves have better pitching than average and better pitching depth than average, slightly offset by slightly less hitting bench depth compared to the others. BOHICA has less pitching bench depth than average but good starters. That's something that may be improved with adds and drops. My team is fairly balanced - no strengths, no weaknesses - boring!

Up next is Panik at the Frisco, with strong hitting and decent pitching, and a reasonable bench (and, like Chalupa, four player spots left to fill (but only $8 in cap.)) In third place is Machado About Nothing - great hitting, average pitching, but what stands out about this team is it's extreme bench depth both in hitting a pitching. Machado should be able to squeeze more points out of that deep bench with active management. It also might be useful in trade to improve the team's starters.

The best ranked team in the league is last year's champion Chalupa Batmen. I think there is a good chance for the rare back-to-back first place ranking. Chalupa has the league's best projected offense and defense, and has good separation from the #2 ranked team. The only weakness appears to be the bench - there's not much depth here. BUT - Chalupa has four player spots unfilled, and the most 2017 cap left to spend with $53. That's enough to build a respectable bench as the early season unfolds.

Re-organized my projection spreadsheet to get an idea how our teams stack up post-draft. First of all, I think the league is starting the 2017 season with more parity than last year and probably years prior. There are no teams that are in total rebuild mode, punting the season. The worst projected team is still within striking distance of the championship (considering that the projection will only be about 70% accurate.) It should be a good year for Cooperstown fantasy baseball.
